Wraith (Stargate) vs Galactic Empire (Star Wars) BC-304 Daedalus-Class Battlecruiser (Stargate, Post-Unending, No ZPM & With ZPM) vs Imperial Escort Fleet (Star Wars) BC-304 USS Daedalus (Stargate, Pre-Unending, No ZPM) vs SSV Normandy SR-2 (Mass Effect) Can the Reaper Invasion from Mass Effect 3 take the UNSC controlled Earth from Halo 2, 3, & ODST?
Actually, in the later parts of the battle of earth truth’s fleet joined and the fleet was the biggest recorded in human history, having hundreds of capital ships. Although the fleet destroyed what was left of the home fleet, lord hood and his brilliant leadership and 300 orbital defence platforms managed to destroy hundreds of major cruisers and carriers and reduce the fleet to a mere 40 ships.
Dr. Boring Also plot any competent commander which Hood is would have put way more resources into protecting the ODPS he should have sent smaller frigates and fighters to destroy the boarding squadrons
One thing I enjoy about the Haloverse is the sheer sense of scale, and how they consistently they maintain it. It's plain that the UNSC Navy must've had at least three hundred ships at various points during the war, and possibly even more than five hundred when shipbuilding and personnel training really ramped up and losses were relatively minimal. The Covenant, on the other hand, probably had well over two thousand warships of various types, and probably even more. In the final campaign against humanity, a thousand ships were deployed...and at least eight hundred of those ships were lost in assaults on Reach and Earth, as well as the strike by the Spartan IIs against Unyielding Heirophant. Those numbers really are mind-boggling. :)
The problem is that we're told about these massive fleets and armies, but we never see them. The Star Wars writers never really managed to demonstrate the size of the Imperial military. The Battle of Endor was a massive event but it only had a few dozen warships on each side, compared to the Battle of Reach, which had hundreds and hundreds of ships. I love Star Wars, but they've always been inconsistent with this kind of thing. :(
I'm fairly sure that based upon various sources (including numbers from various battles, as well as the data pads from Halo Reach) that it's been estimated that the UNSC had roughly 2000 ships of various sizes and tonnage before the war. The covenant we can't really quantify because we have no idea how big they are. There's also the fact that they could make like 5 battle cruisers in a good amount of time from an asteroid. However, it is made abundantly clear that the covenant are many, many times larger than humanity, so we can accurately say that they field tens of thousands of warships. If you wanted a more liberal estimate, you could even say hundreds of thousands. The covenant most definitely did not field only 2000 warships. This is shown when the prophet of truth himself stated that the losses encountered in late 2552 were "inconsequential". Between the fall of Reach, the destruction of unyielding hierophant, the first halo ring, the covenant must have lost over 800 ships. If their fleet strength was only 2000, this would not be seen as a minor inconvenience by the prophet.
As for the forerunners? Well, I remember reading somewhere (in silentium I think) that nearing the end of the forerunner-flood war the forerunners were spread thin and they were fielding "only" a couple hundred thousand ships per fleet. That's... a lot of warships. I also remember hearing from others that the forerunners in their prime had billions of warships, though I will check up on this, considering it's been a while since I've read the forerunner trilogy. This is only their warships, though. The forerunners were also known to use many sentinels and combat suits (like seekers or war sphinxes) in space combat. The shield world of Onyx was made up of trillions of Onyx sentinels. Even forerunner warrior-servants, who were essentially normal soldiers, could control up to a million drones or weapon-ships per person. This isn't taking into account the AI they use. It doesn't stop there either. Just because you shoot down a ship doesn't necessarily mean it's down for the count. The forerunners have an INSANE industry, and could pump out an advanced Onyx sentinel from a single production facility every six seconds. Seeing as 86,400 seconds are in a day, then a single production facility can make around 14,400 sentinels every day. Keep in mind these are advanced Onyx sentinels. The normal aggressor sentinels you see in the games could presumably be made much faster. In addition to this, entire small ships could be made in very short amounts of time (as in, an 800 or so meter ship in minutes). Okay, I went overboard, but man the forerunners are insane lol.
There's actually a lot more about Admiral Cole's Last Stand not covered in this video. For instance, a UNSC AI calculated about a 72% chance Cole did survive (EDIT: Upon further inspection, it was 2 AIs and it was like 89%. I misremembered, sorry)
isn't it hinted the Cole made a in-atmosphere jump into slipspace just before detonating the gas giant's core and is chilling somewhere with his insurrectionist wife? It's kinda cool but I think it doesn't really make sense that one of humanity's greatest admirals would abandon humanity to the risk of absolute annihilation just to retire and spend time with his love

@@wilburforce8046 True. Truth rolling with Brutes to commandeer the ships sure helped the UNSCs cause quite abit too. As the Covenant seemed to lack advanced AIs and VIs to help them (one area where the UNSC actually has the advantage technologically)
If the UNSC could have captured and reverse-engineered just one shield generator, then equipped their ships and orbital guns with them, I think they could have either beaten the Covenant or at least stalemated them into eternity. Human commanders consistently demonstrated superior tactics when compared with their Covenant counterparts, and the only thing that let the Covenant win so many fleet engagements was their superior technology. I think that even with the numbers disparity, the UNSC could have handled the Covenant menace just fine if their weapons and defenses had been more on par with their enemy.

Luke Mattingly A single missile from a Hailfire droid took out an AT-TE during the battle of Geonosis, while a Mammoth survived a direct hit from a Covenant Lich's main plasma cannon.
Anyone think halo battle of earth should be on Spartans games with 6 marathons maybe 8 and with 27 or 30 Paris frigates with 1 OTP for the conevant they should have 2 ORS and 6-12 CCS class around 60 to 100 dollars
Fun fact, the mathematics and technology involved in making a mac cannon shoot if applied to covenant plasma torpedos can improve them 10 fold since they both use magnetic coils to work, mac cannons apparently just have more efficient coils. My sources are halo first stirke, cortana used simple human knowledge of mathematics to improve the weapons on the ascendant justice.
"Hundreds of Spartan 2s and 3s" There were three teams of power armour clad Spartan 3s, Noble being one of them. There were a few dozen Spartan 2s, most getting wiped out during the battle.
Xyro both species share the same weakness but I have to give it to the brutes mainly because of the tech that truth gave them during the great schism that just really puts them ahead of anything seen in the mass effect universe (but without all the prophets fancy new toys the Krogan have a very fair chance of winning)
IIRC: Relative to other battles in the Halo timeline. Reach was sorta pyrrhic for the covenant. They suffered moderate losses due to being forced to the ground and fighting Spartans, aswell as multiple ships lost to SMAC fire.
Good video, I noticed for #5 tho you said the humans had 117 ships, but in the text you show of the comic, it states 107. Nothing big, just minor misread I guess?? Keep up the good work, m8! 👍🤗
I am glad you choose the battle of reach. Also when playing halo reach on the mission where you r in the covenant ship in the bridge you can see a map of the planet reach. Around the map you can see all of the covanant ships as little yellow dots. On the map you can see the ship that you r in. It also shows the covanant super carrier that is next to you. It is not a yellow dot. It appears as the real size and shape that it is, around the map you can see 3 of the super carriers. I need more opinions on if there is more than one covanant super carrier during the battle of reach.
Nebula-class Star Destroyer vs Imperial II-class Star Destroyer. Vindication-class light battleship vs Venator-class Star Destroyer. The Yuuzhan Vong vs the Covenant. The Rebel Alliance vs the Separatist Alliance. Acclamator class assult ship vs Munificent-class star frigate.
Yes but I am not sure it could. They match each other in terms of size but the Imperial II has more weapons, more starfighters (though they are not as good as the ones the Nebula would carry) and it even has a few gunboats and assult shuttles. So it actually seems to be the better battleship and carrier.
What bothers me the most is that the Fall of Reach was the biggest battle in the human covenant war, and in the game Halo Reach all we see is Noble teams side story battles that are pretty much insignificant in the Fall of Reach. When the real covenant fleet arrives right after Jorge destroys the super carrier, the game only shows like 7 ships arriving before the video of the satellite dies, I mean would it killed them to show 10 more seconds of the hundreds of ships arriving of the fleet arriving? If it wasn’t for noble delivering a fragment of Cortana to the pillar of autumn the whole game would had been meaningless.
Jerome 092 I sort of agree, but the game wasn’t mean to be a retelling of the comics, it was always meant to be a prequel sequel, although I would have killed to see some of the space battles that happened in the comics and to see them in reach.
We never even see a unsc ship except for a couple of frigates and the Autumn in the end. Reach didn't feel like humanity's most important colony, it felt like some random planet that only had like 5 frigates defending it
Coles tactics in the books are very creative like using the refit stations as shields so the fleet can get an extra salvo off but thinking about the caliber of people lost when a unsc ship is destroyed.....that could be 400 to 1500 souls lost per ship...depending on class
Covenant didn't stumble onto accidentally, they found an forerunner artifact telling them earth is the location of the portal to the Ark but they did not know it was humanity's home planet, that's why Regret is apologizing to Truth for his haste and what not in halo 2 and why the covenant only landed at 'New mam-bossa/viow' (I don't know how to spell either of those) and why they immediately started digging (after attacking and clearing the area) when they landed
The Human-Covenant War is perhaps the most depressing war I’ve read about. Purely fictional of course. I remember reading the Fall of Reach as a kid, I recall feeling a sense of hopelessness for the UNSC, the large amount of life after having a colony glassed.. dang I gotta reread those books
I'm surprised to hear that someone who focusses mainly on star wars knows so much more about the Halo universe than some other channels who focus only on Halo and hardly know any title of a Halo-novel. I'm not sure if I should be glad or disappointed.
There are some sources that the combined covenant fleet at Reach numbered over 700.. but it was hard to get an accurate number since those battle groups did come at different times. However, I did notice that there was one human weapon that you haven't really mentioned exactly.. You did mention that the humans have nukes, but.. to be specific nuclear mines were the weapons that did a lot of damage to covenant fleets and they were usually deployed by prowlers... those stealthy UNSC ships that the covenant have a hard time detecting w/ their superior sensors.

Remember at the beginning of Halo 2 when Cortana says there 15 Covenant Ships invading Earth and then Admiral Hood said “The Fleet That Destroyed Reach Was 50 Times This Size.”? Even Gabriel Iglesias would be like “DAYUM!”
I never bought that just 45 covie ships were involved in the battle at Earth. I’ve heard that the largest fleet ever invaded Sol. Given that the largest fleet witnessed prior to that event was the Brute Fleet at Reach + the 40 surviving elite ships which totalled c.500, I assume that at least 500 covie ships invaded Sol. The reason they were wittled down to 30-40 was because they arrived piecemeal due to the schism - and of course, because of the platforms
You forgot one. The fleet that leads the first attack against Earth, lead by Regret is just the leftovers of something like a 300 ship escort fleet for a covenant space station that human forces leftover from Reach and Halo destroyed using a captured Covenant Carrier and a NOVA bomb. Just thought I'd point that out.
I do believe you neglected to mention that the Covenant's victory over the Fall of Reach was pretty much a pyrrhic one for them since they lost a ton of ships from the battle itself thanks in part to the 20 Orbital Defense Platforms defending the planet.
Just a thought, but perhaps you could start doing videos where you compare any of the Starcraft factions, technologies, or such against other sci-fi universes' factions, technologies, or such? For starters, who would win in a war: the Covenant from Halo, or the Protoss from StarCraft?
The battle for Earth with Regret's fleet SHOULD have been over relatively quickly. The only reason the covenant managed to get a ship to the planet's surface was because the plot allowed it.
At reach the Human fleet did preform better than most battles. The covenant lost 2/3rds of their fleet mostly due to the orbital defense platforms. Not to mention operation first strike had to be devastating the loss of 500 ships.
For your Intro sequence, instead of "Star Wars, Halo, & More" you could just have Sci-Fi. It would give an equally accurate representation of your channel.
"The Chief is gonna get in this tank, cross the bridge, and blow up any inhuman sunnuvabitch dumb enough to get between him and the Prophet of Regret."

THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
+Conner Ambrose I DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE ATTEMPTS WERE BUT *GOOD LUCK ANYWAY!!*
UNSC Charon class Frigate (The Shield Frigate) Vs CIS Munificent-class frigate
The Charon is more of a support ship, the Munificent would probably win. I'd say a Paris class heavy frigate would be a better match
Kofi Pumpuni do you mean a strident frigate?
Kofi Pumpuni Should be Strident or Paris class, the Charon is made for ground assaults, and support.
Strident and (probably) Anlace are the only frigates with shields.
No, Anlace is the new frigate from Halo 5: www.halopedia.org/Anlace-class_frigate
This channel is the best, especially to me because halo and Star Wars are my favourite. Best combo
Awesome video Eckhart and thank you Freighttrain for your fantastic editing for this video!!!! :)
+Luke Skywalker the 2nd he did great!
EckhartsLadder I strongly agree :)
Your content gives me something to listen to while I clean. Thanks bro, keep it up
+Paladin Danse glad you enjoy my dude
I like the new effects! They add kind of a slickness to the video and it looks stylish!
They had some Orion Class Assault Carriers as well according the cannon.
I like the new fancy text editing, keep up the great work
How many covenant ships would it take to defeat the death star
Spartan Abrams 60 would do!
Spartan Abrams How many Imperium of man ships would it take to beat both
Spartan Abrams No to many
beast ICY, a lot.
The NOVA BOMB
I could listen to you, the act man, and nakeyjakey talk about halo forever I absolutely love your content
I love the new editing!
Union of Allied Planets (Firefly/Serenity) vs Entire Sol System (The Expanse) in total war
we need firefly content on this channel, if he does it no power in the verse coud stop me (from waching all the firefly content)
Like the new intro man. I'd use it regularly
Keep up the great work man! I recently discovered your channel, and love your halo/ Star Wars content
Love your new editing und i Really appreciate your effort into making a new vid everyday
+denniz 0388 hey man, thanks! It's a total grind, but knowing people enjoy it makes it much easier
Dude..where can I get a copy of your intro music? It has a lot of good memories for me , and my memory is triggered by sounds, sights, odors, etc. I first found your channel right after I got clean after 30 years of opioid addiction. I can remember first time I found it. It was 3:52 am and I was sitting in a parking lot waiting for a methadone clinic to open and admit me for treatment. I used that form of medication assisted treatment and have completely turned my life around. It's 4 years later. I still get a feeling when I hear your intro. I'd like to be able to play it at certain times when I need a boost. I have to go to that clinic only every 2 weeks now..on Saturday mornings..I get there about 1am and wait til 530. I watch a lot of your content ...specially star wars. And star wars theory. Can you please respond? I know it's probably very unlikely you will get this request. But is worth a try. I'm very sorry for recent shooting in Nova scotia.i live in Georgia here in southern us. I'm a AR15 owner. Responsible . Careful. Married. Live in rural mountain area. Have cats. Love dogs as well. Thank you.
Great video as always, Imperious class star destroyer vs unsc pillar of autum class
I'd love to see more like this! Love your content!
You should seriously post links to the music you use in these videos! Keep up the good content.
Halo Mammoth vs AT-TE clone tank
Luke Mattingly AT-TE is pretty dead. The Mini Mac itself can leave a large hole on it.
Thel 'Vadam maybe a few then?
Luke Mattingly seems fair
Luke Mattingly A single missile from a Hailfire droid took out an AT-TE during the battle of Geonosis, while a Mammoth survived a direct hit from a Covenant Lich's main plasma cannon.
ESFNinja
And it's Mini MAC can shoot Space Ships down out of the Atmosphare
When Commander Jacob Keys did the Keys loop, he didn’t even have a ship AI. The AI would control weapons, engine and tactical advice
Anyone think halo battle of earth should be on Spartans games with 6 marathons maybe 8 and with 27 or 30 Paris frigates with 1 OTP for the conevant they should have 2 ORS and 6-12 CCS class around 60 to 100 dollars
alex chavez spartan games went out of business sadly
Fun fact, the mathematics and technology involved in making a mac cannon shoot if applied to covenant plasma torpedos can improve them 10 fold since they both use magnetic coils to work, mac cannons apparently just have more efficient coils. My sources are halo first stirke, cortana used simple human knowledge of mathematics to improve the weapons on the ascendant justice.
Loved the new intro
"Hundreds of Spartan 2s and 3s"
There were three teams of power armour clad Spartan 3s, Noble being one of them.
There were a few dozen Spartan 2s, most getting wiped out during the battle.
Actually we dont know how many S-III teams there were, just that Gauntlet, Red, and Echo were there.
I'd imagine not many more considering most were just yeeted at the covenant
Digging the new intro dude
I like how no one picked up on the "5 million" likes on the video at 6:37 hehe. Its a fun video but sadly its not quite there yet!
I still think we should make this nerdy to the next level. Halo Forerunners Vs Dr Who Time Lords. Or The Daleks Vs Borg or Republic
Love the intro man!!
Krogan race (ME) vs. Brutes (Halo)
Pre genophage krogans, post genophage brutes
Æ. FONTANEZ. Well, krogans are smarter than brutes. And the krogans are very well used to fighting monsters on their planet.
Blood Dragon Bastion Brutes are MUCH bigger, and are still considered a sentient and intelligent species.
Xyro both species share the same weakness but I have to give it to the brutes mainly because of the tech that truth gave them during the great schism that just really puts them ahead of anything seen in the mass effect universe (but without all the prophets fancy new toys the Krogan have a very fair chance of winning)
Krogans all the way
12th Cyber Legion (Cybermen) vs The First Order (without the Supremacy)
IIRC: Relative to other battles in the Halo timeline. Reach was sorta pyrrhic for the covenant. They suffered moderate losses due to being forced to the ground and fighting Spartans, aswell as multiple ships lost to SMAC fire.
I like your background music in your videos
+Mattew L hey thanks!
Keep up the good work dude!
+Josh Kraft thanks mam
+EckhartsLadder *man
Lovin' these videos my man!
+Xyro thanks bro
More than one. Keyes takes one out with the Pillar of Autumn.
Nebula-class Star Destroyer vs Imperial II-class Star Destroyer.
Vindication-class light battleship vs Venator-class Star Destroyer.
The Yuuzhan Vong vs the Covenant.
The Rebel Alliance vs the Separatist Alliance.
Acclamator class assult ship vs Munificent-class star frigate.
All of these are fair except the first one. The Nebula class Destroyer was literally built around the idea of beating an imperial II class destroyer.
Yes but I am not sure it could. They match each other in terms of size but the Imperial II has more weapons, more starfighters (though they are not as good as the ones the Nebula would carry) and it even has a few gunboats and assult shuttles. So it actually seems to be the better battleship and carrier.
Nice new Opening
+RYSE Tokhammer thanks!
You should do a multi faction battle. Like CIS vs Mass Effect Universe (Minus Reapers) vs UNSC or something like that.
This
We never even see a unsc ship except for a couple of frigates and the Autumn in the end. Reach didn't feel like humanity's most important colony, it felt like some random planet that only had like 5 frigates defending it
Replicators vs Flood
321gman necrons
Tau
A future video should be the top five worst ground battles in UNSC HISTORY
Coles tactics in the books are very creative like using the refit stations as shields so the fleet can get an extra salvo off but thinking about the caliber of people lost when a unsc ship is destroyed.....that could be 400 to 1500 souls lost per ship...depending on class
200+ likes no dislikes god your good man keep it up!!
Mandalorian Kedalbe- class Battleship vs. ISD 2 (I've lost count how many times I've suggested this one by now.)
You guys should checkout spacedocks video of the keyes loop, very well done
The Human-Covenant War is perhaps the most depressing war I’ve read about. Purely fictional of course. I remember reading the Fall of Reach as a kid, I recall feeling a sense of hopelessness for the UNSC, the large amount of life after having a colony glassed.. dang I gotta reread those books
I'm surprised to hear that someone who focusses mainly on star wars knows so much more about the Halo universe than some other channels who focus only on Halo and hardly know any title of a Halo-novel. I'm not sure if I should be glad or disappointed.
Hey Nice intro!
What is the theme song you use as your opening?
Do top 5 forerunner flood battles!
I don't think we have enough information on the Forerunners...
We don't have enough information
Xyro
We have a lot Information about the Forrunners But no Details about the battles
Dalek Emperor's Flagship vs Entire Galactic Empire
Minton empire would reck
I have two if I'm allowed to do that... Imperial Tie fighter vs. Colonial viper mk 2, and the Battlestar Galactica vs. UNSC Pillar of Autumn
This is why we need some kind of live action film or tv show so we can see all these battles.
Nice new editing, you probably needed a break with all the constant uploading
lol number four ironically I'm reading the fall of reach at the part where cortanas on the poa some were around there
I like the new intro.
+??? Thanks dude!
Halo Canon has a very good timeline for the battle of Reach. He also has a lot of really good videos about lore and whatnot in Halo
List; 16th try

Remember at the beginning of Halo 2 when Cortana says there 15 Covenant Ships invading Earth and then Admiral Hood said “The Fleet That Destroyed Reach Was 50 Times This Size.”? Even Gabriel Iglesias would be like “DAYUM!”
Sees new eckhartsladder video on notifications * instantly clicks it *
What is that first song you got playing in the background?
Star Wars Republic Commando Squad VS Halo Spartan 2 Squad!!!!!!! This is my 15th attempt!!
Just thought I'd point that out.
as lord hood said the fleet that destroyed reach was 50 times large than this ( before we start defending ciaro station )
Yo dude, this video was in the most recent halo community update as a shutout.
I do believe you neglected to mention that the Covenant's victory over the Fall of Reach was pretty much a pyrrhic one for them since they lost a ton of ships from the battle itself thanks in part to the 20 Orbital Defense Platforms defending the planet.
Zerg (StarCraft 2) vs Orks (WH40K)
Just a thought, but perhaps you could start doing videos where you compare any of the Starcraft factions, technologies, or such against other sci-fi universes' factions, technologies, or such? For starters, who would win in a war: the Covenant from Halo, or the Protoss from StarCraft?
2:29. That’s the number! That’s it! I’m gonna have a stroke!!
Largest Space Battles starwars! :O
God damn Preston Cole is bad ass
The battle for Earth with Regret's fleet SHOULD have been over relatively quickly. The only reason the covenant managed to get a ship to the planet's surface was because the plot allowed it.
Make 5 rebels vs 5 stormtroopers
If you look at halo 2 anniversary all cutscenes it actually shows the size of both fleets at the battle of earth
At reach the Human fleet did preform better than most battles. The covenant lost 2/3rds of their fleet mostly due to the orbital defense platforms. Not to mention operation first strike had to be devastating the loss of 500 ships.
Nice intro.
For your Intro sequence, instead of "Star Wars, Halo, & More" you could just have Sci-Fi. It would give an equally accurate representation of your channel.
I know this is 3 years ago but since you love Space Battles, Have you ever played Battle Fleet Gothic Armada I and II ?
Dark helmet vs darth vader
Spartan Abrams Shwarts > Force
i honestly think vader would laugh himself to death.
you made my day
I see your shwarts is as big as mine!
Spartan Abrams
Hmmmm
"The Chief is gonna get in this tank, cross the bridge, and blow up any inhuman sunnuvabitch dumb enough to get between him and the Prophet of Regret."
