The rumors of this camera is it’s basically the C300 mark iii with no Raw, SD cards, and in an RF mount system.
Same DGO Super35 sensor as the C300 mark iii
    Same 4k up to 120fps
Same 2K up to 180 FPS (180fps is super 16 crop).

Watch out now Andrew Reid might disown you for this video. I don’t think Canon is going to have 8K raw on this camera. I might not have raw at all. I think it will compete with the A7s iii, I agree with you there. 4K 120p, hopefully a better codec than what’s on the R5.
I have the R5. First time out I wanted to test the 8K. I shot 15 minutes of 8K, camera shut down. I waited 45 minutes to be able to shoot a 4K timelapse after that which was 350 shots, interval of 8s for 45 minutes. Camera shut down right after timelapse complete. 2 hours later I wanted to shoot some 4K HQ @24p. The camera said I only had 5 minutes available. Setup lights, rush through shoot, I only got 3 shots each 2 minutes before camera shut down. I would check the camera every hour and the time would stay at 5 minutes. Camera fully recovered 6 hours later.
I was really disappointed in the camera. I really appreciated Andrews tests at the time. He was looking into the app and temp at that time. Close to revealing the time was artificial.
I tested my R5 today with the new firmware 1.10. Huge difference. I shot 45 minutes of 8K this morning. Only list 5 minutes between takes, not overheat issues or warnings. I really got to focus on my shots and creating. I shot a 4K timelapse after that same settings as before. No issues of over heating. But when I switched to 8K raw I was down to 5 minutes. Packed up went home. About an hour pass by, I take my kids to the duck pond. After an hour the camera fully recovered. I shoot for 30 minutes switching between 4K 120, 8K raw, and 4K 24p HQ. I only lose 5 minutes of record time. I drive home which was 30 minutes. The camera was fully recovered. I shoot another 45 minutes switching between modes.
The camera is useable now. I feel confident of I gave it breaks through out the day I can last a day and even more incident if I got an Atomos.
I’m I’m looking forward to the c70 but the biggest question is codec. If I have to deal with the same codecs In the R5, no thank you. That’s the worst thing about the R5 is the codecs. The raw development isn’t as bad as the H265 files coming out of the camera. I have a beefy 2019 Mac Pro too and it struggles.

This actually looks like a grow up canon xc10/15. Without build in lens.

I guess people are missing the point that 8K raw only exists in the R5 because they needed that many megapixels to market a stills camera. The result is a flawed 8k mode that's hard (or almost impossible) for most people to work with in post. It's not perfect, but it's there as a byproduct of the stills mode.
For the Cinema EOS cameras, they get to chose a sensor just for the video output as they don't need to take pictures. The sensors can then prioritise other important things like DR and rolling shutter performance. I'm sure for people comparing only specs, it would look like a step backwards to not have 8k... but what this will have is an extremely good 4k image in a reliable package with useful ergonomics. People will make lots of money creating content on these while UA-camrs lament the lack of 8K raw.

Seems like you’re a huge fan of 8K. Base on past trends, we can easily interpolate the up coming EOS R1 having 8K(that will not overheat). Here look, in 2012 1DX=1080@60, in 2016 1DX2=4K@60, in 2020 1DX3=5.5K@60, in a year or two R1=8K@60.

I think the C70 will have 4K, but it really should have 6K to compete with the RED Komodo which will also have an RF mount.

I highly doubt that Canon will put 8k in the camera. Canon has never been that kind of company focused on resolution over color space. Plus it would make their higher tier cameras less competitive not also having 8K.

So the r5c is a ballsy killer camera according to this video. “The camera”

Canon is definitely not putting 8k in this. When it comes to their cinema cameras, they are going to protect each step up model somehow. Just how this camera doesn't have raw because if it did what would be the purpose of the c300iii? It already has its DGO sensor. This should be interesting when released though.

I feel like canon may price it more the Reds Komodo but less than the c300 miii and canon may kill off the c200 line up and just have cleane line up in sets of 3
    R/R6/R5 C70/C300/c500

I am more interested in the C50 which is supposed to cost $3,500. I want to see how it stacks up against the R6 and the A7S III.

I know my a5100 overheats and I bought it anyway ..for $250 USD w/lens ... I know the new Canon R5 overheats, and because of the cost of the camera, I wouldn't touch it. Interesting show ... enjoy your work always

    Hello!!!
Thank you so very much for your videos. I am just starting out my new hobby of astronomy and photography. My goal is to become proficient in Astro photography. I have all the equipment but it is a very steep learning curve. I am desperate to learn how to use this stuff. I have set my telescope up and observed a few things but I tend to think I should be able to see more. My hope is that I can have an ongoing dialogue with you to help me make sure things are set up correctly so I can start enjoying astronomy. Thank you so very much

Closer to the R6 is my guess. This is the BM 4k/A7S III killer.
