Thank You Rick, you have produced the clear'est instruction videos I have ever seen on the Mavic.

You are so helpful in the step by step process to understand this wonderful drone. You make learning easy. Thank you for taking the time and hours of effort. We see a 18 minute video but to place the side by side comparisons in post productions and all editing you must have to do is amazing! Some day I would enjoy a detailed video on how you get to end results.

Sir. unbelievable job. I am a retired police Captain out of the state of Michigan and been flying Mavic Pro for around a year and just got another one which I am now using. A year ago on my first mavic I did a firmware update and it appeared to go well and then dropped out of he ski, It was one that I did not update the battery but it was their first firmware and I watch it drop like a atom bomb, This new one I have shows a firmware update I believe of 400 but afraid of doing it. My drone flies perfect, lands o return hone on the X and takes good pictures and everything seems to work, now that I adjusted my gimble with your help that does not concern me at all, but this update is for different music and goggles and one other with minor tweeks. This drone has been flawnless, all sensors, perfect, beautiful pictures but I am scared to death to do a firmware update. I just ordered a Plantinum to have a extra, but sometimes updates can make you regret it afterwards. Since I am a retired Police Officer that means I am not to sharp but you have restored honesty, your presentation Is second to none. Please if you have time can you give me some advise as I dont know how this Mavic can perform any better, thanks Rick

Hi Rick, good video as always.
A couple points for consideration: With regard to the extended gimbal tilt, remember how the aircraft pitches downward when flying forward, especially in sport mode. That extra 30 degrees of upwards range is used to keep a stable shot when the camera angle is set to the horizontal position. Try flying forward, especially in sport mode with the gimbal tilt in that extended range. My personal experience has been that the gimbal sometimes does odd behaviors, including losing the ability to fully stabilize the camera. Leaving the extended range off (which I don't do, either), helps guarantee that the camera can stabilize whatever attitude the aircraft might present.
As for adjusting gimbal roll. Your method is great, however I've found that doing it in flight is probably the easiest. Just pull up the horizon and adjust until level. If a visual guide is needed, turn on the grid lines. I've also found that sometimes the gimbal roll may be slightly off on start up, but moving the gimbal through its range of movements seems to get things back to where they are normally set for some reason. I recommend moving the gimbal fully downward, then back to level and also switching to portrait mode and back before making any gimbal corrections. Doing this quick exercise seems to get everything back to perfect with the previously set gimbal calibration. To facilitate this, I have the portrait/landscape toggle and the gimbal up/down toggle both assigned on the 5-way controller (left and right controller actions, respectively).
Another advantage to having the gimbal up/down toggle readily available on the 5-way is that you can set the gimbal speed really slow for the reasons you alluded to, but still be able to switch between looking ahead and down rather quickly. The up/down toggle speed seems to be independent of the of gimbal EXP setting. So if you need to quickly look up, or directly down, the toggle can get you there quickly, even if the gimbal tilt wheel can't.
One final personal muse somewhat related to the topic at hand: While there's a pan follow on/off, I sure wish that there was a smoothness setting for this, much like the tilt. Trying to smooth out of a yaw move for the end of a pan shot has been a little challenging for me, despite playing with the aircraft stick EXP settings. I would hope DJI would eventually realize this. It's an important aspect of videography and the reason that fluid pan head tripods exist.
Thanks again for an informative video.
