Honestly one of the best video reviews online. The video, the sound, the car itself and most important the story....absolute quality. I watched it over 10 times already. Well done. I hope You will make more of the like...
That’s an amazing compliment, Alan. Thank you. This is the best review that I’ve made yet but the next one will be even better. Thanks for watching.
I've had my 2000 M5 for just shy of a year and I absolutely LOVE this car! It just feels so tight on the road and even it does break free of traction I never worry, it's quite easy to regain control and keep on giving her it all. I put her into storage for the winter about a week ago and already am missing her, can't wait for next spring... 😀
Since you’ve had it, how has maintenance been? Do you do the maintenance yourself? I’m thinking about grabbing one of these and I’m not particularly handy past basic maintenance and am worried about cost of ownership
Well done! Each video is presented with the vigor of a 500k+ subscribed channels polish and feel. You will grow in no time
This is one of the most informative videos out there in UA-cam land that I've seen on the venerable Bavarian Beast, the E39 M5. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Great content again! Keep them coming!!
With this high level review quality cant wait to 1M subs
BMW was at its pinnacle with the E60/E63!!! E60 M5 is the super Sedan of all time. Ps. I owned a brand new 2006 Estoril blue M3! and a 2000 silver stone M5!. I currently have a Carbon black 2010 M6!!! Great video, well done.
Agreed! We have just bought a 525i E39 ..and just love it ..This was a really good review.. Thx
Subscribed! Great review and filming.
First video I saw was your E46 M3 review. Really awesome video, and even more impressive is you've developed your own style that's truly professional and captivating to watch. Loved this video and look forward to the next, keep up the good work! :)
Mojo24717 Thanks Mojo! That’s very kind of you. I try to improve upon each video, so hearing feedback like yours tells me I’m going in the right direction.
Bro you need more subscribers. These vids are insane and definitely got a swagger to them.
Much appreciated man, always trying to improve.
Great video! Thanks for the review!
Im suprised that you only have 993 subs. I found you when i was checking for the e46 m3 convertible, and you were a frickin natural at these reviews! Plus the addition of POV driving at the end? that was a great addition, subbed!
I think as far as subs it’s really just a matter of posting more frequently, which I need to work on quite a bit. Glad that you’ve enjoyed the videos so far though! Thanks for watching.
I like the style of your videos, and while I don’t have an E46 M3, I have a facelift 330i, and personally think the E46 is the most beautiful 3-series. Just the right amount of technology and comforts, but still a driver’s car...keep the videos coming 🙂
Another great review. I have subscribed and have a new favorite BMW reviewer. It's obvious, having now watched three separate reviews of three very different BMWs that you get the Manufacturer, their ethos, what they are looking to achieve, what they actually do well, and finally where they sometimes fall short on with each model. Having driven the 5 series many times and now owning a classic E34 5 series, I would love to get a review from you, of the first two iterations of the M5, both the inaugural E28 and the last of the truly mechanical, hand- built M5 models, the E34.
Thank you for the kind words, Joel. I'm always trying to ensure these videos offer as much thoughtful content as possible. It's why I post so seldom, I'm extremely picky. I will be on the lookout for opportunities to review the older generations of M5. Thank you again and enjoy your E34!
I drive one. It is an unbelievable car. Great combination; Luxury with an edge. Road Trip delight; 1000 miles, no problem.
This quality video needs way more viewers
Great review!!
i first stumbled upon your review of the e46 M3, fell in love with that video subscribed immediately, and now.. this piece again. you are the best...please keep them coming. video is clean and sharp. Thanks
atobsky Wow, thank you. Seriously, it’s feedback like that that makes me try to make each video better than the last.
and you are doing just that ..keep growing.. i am not alone other comments here verifies that strongly
so that you know..it was your video on the BMW Z4M that has inspired me to buy an example
atobsky That’s awesome man, I’m glad I could help make your decision. The Z4M deserves more recognition than it gets. You will love it, I guarantee that. Keep me updated.
Awesome video man! And the vents on this m5 make it super mean!
Thank you! And yeah, they really suit the E39s well.
Honestly I would pick the e39 body style over the e46 any day but the e46 is beautiful ❤️
Subscribed! What a video... It gave me goosebumps right until the end when you completed the sentence " When BMW were at their absolute best..." Agreed. I own a 525i and can't see myself buying a newer BMW. I tested a f10 and a E60 for a couple of weeks. No doubt the electronic advantages and technological improvements sit right in the owners comfort, but it's the driving experience and exterior where the e39 shines and will continue to do so. In my opinion the only car that deserves the right to be called "the complete car".
excellent video
Yo this is some quality stuff! I thought this video would have like a mili views by now..
You , the car , and , the tire dealers.
I agree with you on the styling!
I have an E39 M5. I think it's the best all around car ever made. Any situation, it always feels at home. Love it.
nostrodom420 how are they with reliability. Any major concerns to be aware of when looking to purchase.
@@thechadwick4751 Not bad for a 20yo car, but the parts are more expensive than the regular E39, obviously. You can read tons of stuff on the internet from the owners and here's a video, it will save you some time.

best video yet
Keith Sachs Aaaaaand next up, the Suzuki Cappuccino!
BuzzytheBlue lol hell yeah
Great job men in my opinion the e39 m5 is the greatest car ever build
Ill have 21 years together with my M5 on July 7th. Great car still cant dind something to replace it. Bit if an expensive pita at times but great to drive.
Completely agree 👌🏽
DREAM CAR !!!
I got a Z4M coupe for you in South FL if u want to review it. Also a N54 bolt on Sedan
I love the fact that I know every single road you are driving on. "Oh Haywardvlle Rd. Ah, entrance to Rt 9. Uh-huh, rt 149 by Landing Hill Rd." Still searching for my e46 or e39 to go along with my e10 (2002).
Haha anytime I film near the Opera House/Swing bridge I get a comment or two about it too. What color is your 2002 I’m wondering if I’ve seen it around?
White but hasn't been out as often this summer. I'm over in Westchester section of Colchester, but sure you know this place. flic.kr/p/TJaRQ4
I'm not a fan of BMW but this car, damn...After watching dozens of videos and reading tons of stuff on the M5 I really really want to buy one as my weekend car... The only issues I have are the expensive repairs, I just hope I won't have to fix something big every few months, but then again, every sports car is expensive to maintain I suppose.
My family have had 1 since 2006, everything DIY, regular oil changes, and 1 clutch replacement. No other problems to report. Don't be afraid, spend a little extra an get one with good documented history.
Where in ct r u located
You got Instagram Bro? Nasty video !! I agree with you on ANYTHING you said in this video!!
Eugene Kuznetsov Thanks man, I appreciate that! My instagram is just “buzzytheblue”.
Hey is this in Western Connecticut? Looks like an area pretty close to where I live now in Ridgefield.
Central CT, right by the river.
Do you live in Connecticut?
Great video.
Do you know if the exhaust is all stock, except for the muffler delete? I got a muffler delete, but I don't think it's that loud!
It was all stock, yes. Only muffler delete done.
What's with the eBay style vents on the front and sides?
Vorsteiner hood/idk the side vents were done in the early 2000s, just look like a take on E46 M style vents.
Clean car, the hood and lower spoiler looks good and fitting on a clean e39 but the vents on the fender have to go
It had all been done very early in the cars life, would’ve been more difficult to remove than worthwhile. Considering those became a trademark “M” styling cue, even on the M3 of the time, it never bothered me.
👍💪
Shes a beautiful car, oh my goodness, i love the hood, to bad new zealand doesnt have them😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Beautiful car, but the aftermarket hood is ugly (sorry).
Why would they put side grills.. like why.... lol
Good video
This car had a very very interesting early life that my dad (who owned this) didn’t know about until later. It had been a fleet vehicle down in Florida in the early 2000s (I’m assuming like an “exotic” rental car fleet), and I’m thinking that must be when the vents and stuff were done. We got used to it tbh, and it was oddly well done lmao. Hood was a real Vorsteiner too, so some Florida Man spent some $$$
Good video but those mods are embarassing
Ps: I like your comments about the steering, I wish the M5 had the variable ratio steering like the 6 cylinder cars did. IMO unless you're at full throttle constantly and really get to enjoy the 400hp often then the 528i/525i/530i are more enjoyable to drive in most situations, as long as you have the manual trans
Thank you, not my car but I’d say the mods are pretty subjective. The hood in particular is an original Vorsteiner Carbon hood (haven’t been made in a decade) that the original owner installed early in the cars life. As far as the fenders are concerned it’s a styling cue from other M cars, even M cars of the time (M3) so they don’t seem all that out of place to me. But I do understand that most like to leave the E39 understated.
YEAH ASK LEXUS OR INFINITI WERE THERE COMING FROM!
Beautiful car, but the vented aftermarket hood is ugly on the e39
It’s not to everyone’s taste for sure, definitely kills the understated nature of the E39. But, it was an original Vorsteiner carbon fiber hood that the first owner put on the car almost 20 years ago, beyond the “cool” nature of the history, I actually ended up liking the look.
I was so close to buying an M5 in my area with Dinan Stage 3, but turned off by the same vented hood. Takes away the elegant look of a stock M5. Ends up looking like a racer boy car.
@@Otrebor0707 more of a ricer boy not racer. Anyways, you could have just replaced the hood.
@@IAP_mkt Boy racer was what I meant not ricer boy.
@@Otrebor0707 I know that that's what you meant, I just corrected you.
Fender vents :(
HoustonCanuk Fender vents :)
HoustonCanuk Horrible! 🤦🏻♂️
BMW M Can’t say I agree. They’re oem E60 and go well with hood. To each their own.
@@BuzzytheBlue but not on an e39.
BMW M Obviously. A previous owner decided to do it. Hardly the most grievous change to add a later BMW M styling cue to a BMW. Even the E46 M3 has them.
Sad to see the car ruined by the hood, fenders and front lip tho... :/
“Ruined”; that’s a bit hyperbolic man. I liked the look of it, hardly sacrilege to modify the looks of a $15,000 car. Plus the hood is an original Vorsteiner carbon fiber that was put on the car almost 20 years ago.
@@BuzzytheBlue 15.000 would be a bit cheap for an M5 by now. Good condition ones go for at least 22 - 25.000 and really low mileage ones go for around 55.000 by now.
Yes I know, the lip might be okay as well because AC-Schnitzer had one as well. But these fenders are just too much. An honestly I really feel like these cars should remain in a stock look. But maybe that's just me...
Edit: I am talking € by the way. So it would be even more in $...
Seriously..going to even mention the dated infotainment system on a 18 year old car? Who are these ninnies that need infotainment when trying to enjoy an older classic car. Roll down the windows and enjoy the pedal and engine.
Yes? I’d say mentioning it for 5 seconds of a 10 minute review is fair. Regardless, that comment was giving context in the cars favor. It’s one of the only things that dates an otherwise timeless interior.
Muscle car? No
You’re right, a heavy, long wheelbase with a naturally aspirated V8, RWD, and manual transmission only is nothing like the typical idea of a muscle car. No
