I just bought my first action cam(HERO 8 BLK) and had no idea how these weird klip mount worked and you made setting it up clear and efficient. Thank bro
Awesome channel. I just found it yesterday and have already watched 7 videos. Love the tips. Love the tricks and the race footage is epic. All good stuff!!
Would just like to point out if you’ve got an older model like I’ve got (Hero 3 silver) you can always connect it to the GoPro app and start it from the there if you can’t reach the shutter button!
Thanks for the mounting tip! Great little trick with the other adhesive. Now its time to get back and see if I can keep it on both wheels as i cut off my cast yesterday ;)
I heard of this trick by heating up the adhesive with a heat gun or lighter or hair dryer you can turn the adhesive bubbling hot and it will stick really well
Thanks, I am looking at getting the black 7 model and was wondering how to mount it under the visor, So you just answered all my questions.!!! Great vid.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! We would recommend using the "Wide" or "SuperView" settings to record dirt bike riding. Superview will capture more, however it does have some distortion near the edges of the frame and can be dizzying to watch if there is a lot of movement. Personally I have been using Superview a lot more over the past year.
@@ridewiththeknights yeah, I noticed the distortion. I have a gopro session I run just off to the side of my chin bar on the helmet. ua-cam.com/video/V15n_jmvuUI/v-deo.html
I have the largest mount, and I still see my visor. I also have an alpinestars helmet, so I’m sure it’s different than your fly helmet. Any suggestions?
Great vide, thanks! I have to laugh because I started "racing" at 43 years old in chimney rock never riding sand at all berfore that and i laugh because i think your entire race there was under the hero 7 1 hour and mine pushed the 8 hour mark lol. I just say well Josh is the engine of this train and I am the caboose lol. Being thew very last person to cross that finish was the hardest feat of my life but the thing that made me return to try again was the warm welcome from your family and many others and for that I commend and thank you for making even the really slow out of shape old guy and son in law feel welcome. Cheers!
I have a chinese Go Pro which also has wifi. Got it for like $70 few years ago and the wifi makes it so you don't have issues cause you can see what it sees on your phone and can adjust it to where it needs to see.
@@T-MoneyXJ maybe but the difference is price. Worth it and they aren't made cheap either since mine is still kickin'. You can get a $40 'action cam' from Walmart in 1080p - all you have to do is get an external battery and wire it to it (no battery needed) and BAM! 12+ hours of video if you have a large enough external battery, just make sure you have a SD card that can handle the memory. Way better than dropping $200+.
What kind of helmet do you have? Another option is to place the adhesive mount on the underside of the visor, then mount the GoPro upside down. In the settings, change the orientation to record upside down. Then you should be good to go!
The helmet cameras are now old and we as viewers only see dirt ahead. We want to see the rider ride and race so it’s best to get someone to video the rider as he rides. Thats the best view. It’s 2024 so that should have invented a way to have a drone follow the bike at 10’, 15’,20’ and 25’ away and something attached to the rider so the drone knows to follow the bike and video tape the rider.
Thanks josh! I like the sharpie trick, hadn’t thought of that.

I cant seem to find a Medium mount for go pro 7:26 . Any links to where I can get one?
Put some Velcro on the back of your helmet, slap a counterweight pouch for NVG & you have the perfect spot to hold a powerbank.

great video, very useful 👌😎 greetings from Argentina
Thanks for the tip Josh. I have GoPro 8,, so I’m using voice control. Installed camera just like you. 👍
Mine doesn’t fit under my visor
Grant Oling you might be able to attach it to the side
Use it upside down
Or get a chin mount
Do you have a link to the small, medium, and large mounts?
Thanks a lot - very useful❤
I used sandpaper to make plastic curved mount more curved (the same shape as my helmet) + new 3M sticker.
I've got 100% surface contact.
Nice job! That's a great idea!
Great idea with this fixing. And tell me how you use power bank to pull out the batteries Go pro or leave
This is fantastic,
thank you.
Great video and information! Thanks! 👍

AWESOME Video. Thanks! I was wondering what video settings do you recommend for the camera ? 1080p Wide? or something?

Why would you not mount upside down so you can have access to the controls?
What’s the thing what you stick on your helmet called

I don’t want to stick adhesive onto my helmet
I ride to fast for that. the wind will rip my head off with the vizor up so high
It’s a good mount. But it sucks you can’t see your hands and bars...

Don't Go - Hallman
Slow it Down (Instrumental Version) - Mindme
Grifting in Vegas - Kit and the Calltones
I just stuck my mount to the bottom of the visor
It can break

Doesn’t look like you put the protective cover on it? You’ve never had problems with rocks or debris hitting it and damaging your GoPro?
