- If a computer can learn the true meaning of love, then why can't we? :)
"Electric Dreams is a 1984 British-American science fiction romantic comedy-drama film set in San Francisco, California, that depicts a love triangle between a man, a woman, and a home computer. It stars Lenny Von Dohlen, Virginia Madsen, and the voice of Bud Cort and was directed by Steve Barron." (Wikipedia)

Virginia Madsen I always thought was one of the Most Beautiful woman that ever lived!!❤❤
After all these years this is still my #1 favorite movie of all time. I still cry at this scene.
Yeah this piece of music is on another level, it really gets you.
@@singin8324 It's called "Madeline's Theme." I agree with @Dean Clark, one of the best movie soundtracks ever. Have (not had) the cassette, LP and CD. RIP Lenny. 😥😥
@@BearsDashcamVids Yes, I remember the name now you said, I have it on my ipod somewhere from years ago, thanks for the reminder, I'm going to put it on my phone now. Nice one.
Just cannot believe it, so saddened to have heard about the sad passing of Lenny Von Dohlen, a wonderful film actor the best ever, best known for playing Miles Harding in the great film Electric Dreams, which was the best film ever since 1984. Lenny will be deeply missed, Deepest condolences goes to Lenny's family during this very sad emotional time. Rest in Peace Lenny and God Bless.😥😢🙁😪🙏💔
Virginia Madsen referred to Lenny as “my miles”… heartbroken
That really is sad, I didn't even know until you mentioned it. Listening to Madelines theme now makes it even more emotional.
thank you . . r.i.p. .you made my childhood so very happy.
One of the best movies of my child hood...
neoplasmax same here :)
I always loved this soundtrack Georgio Moroder is genius.
I knew it! I came here after listening to the Scarface soundtrack. This song and the Gina theme from Scarface share some chords. Amazing work by Georgio Moroder.
This was the ultimate movie I love the most as a child
I'm glad I own this movie on bluray disc.RIP Lenny Von Dohlen.😢
ahhh the 80s what a such great era to live in wish i could bring back the time
Back when a movie could be light, a bit silly, and charming. When every movie didn’t need to be blockbuster.
Beautifull movie great scene and themes, its so nice and sad at the same time, especially when the edgar realized the what love is and when she must have found out it was the Computer that loved her and played music with her ... Damn even though this a cheesy 80's movie, this still brings a tear to my eye
RIP Lenny Vondolen
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
RIP Lenny
40yrs later this still makes me tear up
I cried more to this than I did in Old Yeller.
Me too xD I know most cried to that swamp scene in Never Ending Story but this movie I had to excuse myself and ran to the toilet and just balled my eyes out
"I love you - ME" - I'm in bits. Every time.
She was such a cutie.
Yes. I falling in Love
As ridiculous as this sounds, I'm not one of those people who cries for many movies. I think maybe 6 movies total in my life actually made me tear. All of them do every time and this is one of them because of this scene. Strangely this is one of them
Virginia Madsen was a real babe back in the day. What a sad ending though. I wish Edgar didn't die.
But Edgar didn't! He went to that space that we now call the internet. :)
For other commentators, he didn’t reattach the sound card, he snapped in the voice synthesizer, for those who remember cards.
GOOD OLE EDGAR TELLS WHAT LOVE IS ACTUALLY,.. IT'S GIVE AND NOT TAKE AND THEN ADDS HIS SENSE OF HUMOR BY LETTING US KNOW IT'S A GAME ONLY TWO CAN PLAY,....WOW!!
A computer knows what love is better than most people
Really good quality picture. Great scene. Let's be real. Edgar stole the show. Edgar.................Bud Cort.
I love the soundtrack just as well as the movie I would love to get this on Blu-ray ❤
Love is give for both partners. Not only for the one of them.
I love Virginia Madsen actress
Had this soundtrack! Awesome music turned up loud 🤓😁😃
Back when romance and innocent love was still possible, when an average guy could get the girl. Luckily I found my Mrs around this time. Still in love 33 years later, she is looking at me weird sitting on the couch.
Found mine 32 years ago.
I've not seen the film but I love the music especially Jeff Lynne and Giorgio Moroder❤❤❤❤
He has very beautiful eyes i couldn't stop looking at it
Virginia Madsen, ooh when she was young.Beautiful.
I vagly remeber this flik.
I'm 63 years old and that dream has long been burst
Love this movie. She is so gorgeous
The synth guy was really "exploring the room" in this track.
Love at 3:55 edgar thinks of the consequences of being with someone 😮
How rare and how mature.
Great!!!!! Thanks
I agree with you Mennn and That's what we called true l❤️ve.. when we are not expecting in return..
One of my favorite movies, always nice to see neighbors just walking in and going through your stuff, lol. She walks in like 4 times randomly he miles you home, not today.
My favourite movie.
This movie took my heart and got it everytime i watch it again. It is better than Casablanca....
Kiss me, GROUCHO!
I always felt this guy/actor doesn't deserved this computer...he is super insensitive :(
ChatGPT would make Edgar proud
Meine liebe, meine liebe meine liebe frau VIRGINIA MADSEN love love love
I love the part where he walks in with the axe. You know he's there to end it and he means business.
+trha2222 Riiiiiiiight.
PLEASE release this film on a Region 1 DVD. PLEASE!
Ugh...no wonder why I haven't been able to find a decent DVD of it.
True ❤
愛是付出而不是佔有。

Θεϊκή ταινία !
I originally walked into a theater with a different movie and it was so bad I walked out and into a different theater playing Electric Dreams and never regretted it.
This guy played a child molester in some “abc After School Special” type of movie when I was a kid and I’ve never moved past it. 😖
daughterofolaf He also played a rapist/killer photographer on “Walker, Texas Ranger.” His targets were model-looking women. I wish Chuck Norris would’ve decimated him; but he left it up to the old man who was a retired Ranger; and this was the guy he couldn’t catch.
@@lakebay972 yeah his Character was Adam "the hangman quinn"
Power over Ethernet as a service through cat11 over a toll free line !
MILES! Oh, Madeline.
Fantastic soundtrack and amazing cast for both of them
The scenario is nowadays probably childish but still touching our hearts.
The computerized crap from today is just comedy compering with the movies of 70s-80s
Fr. jose .2 all preaty griels
Moles rip. Edgar
Edgar sounds a bit like Paul Williams in Phantom of Paradise.
This whole technology thing really got into him... later on, he went on to try steal a micro chip from Black Widow's brother.
I understood that reference

Elon Musk needs to watch this film.
Tive uma namorada na época, que era quase sósia desta linda garota, foi onde cheguei mais próximo dela.

IRONIC THAT THIS MOVIE I BELIEVE WAS THE FIRST TO MENTION A I.
Where are the computer speakers?
2016
I'm from the future.. We watchin it in 2018
2021
i can not fear AI. Some day in maybe not so far future we gain more more, but lets us all see it comes true
Okay, two questions. Miles comes in later and reattaches the sound card (which actually looked more like an array of transistor flip flops) to the motherboard. So how could Madeline hear and emotionally respond to the music? And where are the computer speakers? Just wondering.
The speakers were placed above the computer. Miles installed many accesories of the computer but it was shown briefly in the movie including the speakers.
사랑은 받는 것이 아니라면서

I hate the ending its upsetting

This is hilariously weird.
Worst track on the album
Maybe to you but it was a huge hit on the music charts.
