Thanks Chris! I have an R200 and am installing the new Garmin Force Kraken 75" (White) today. I already installed the hatch in the front but am routing the power wires (and trolling motor) on the starboard side. This lets me use the existing opening for the anchor line to route the wires. I will also be installing live scope to the trolling motor, so that's another wire.
I’ve thought about lithium batteries when I need to replace the trolling motor’s lead acid batteries in the Twin Vee 260. But the $300 vs $3000 is a tough sell for me, plus I’ve already bought the minn Kota a/c charger and the d/c charger that charges off the outboards alternators when running between spots offshore. as i promise read this _pls reply if that helped Apparently, you have to boot up everything in a specific sequence otherwise it won't work. You have to first turn on the xi5 and wait for it to get GPS lock, then boot up the Lowrance and wait for that to get GPS lock. After that, you have to boot up the NMEA network. The problem for me is that the NMEA network and Lowrance are on the same power source so I can't turn one on without the other. My work around is to start with everything off, disconnect the gateway cable from the NMEA network, and then boot up the xi5 and Lowrance. Once both have GPS lock, I plug the gateway cable back into the NMEA network. I guess the more permanent solution will be to put a power switch on the NMEA network so I don't have deal with disconnecting cables. Overall, very happy with it so far, but time on the water will determine that.

one more this time from navico There currently is an issue with the Xi5/Xi3 trolling motors, that both we and MotorGuide are working on to resolve as soon as possible. There is a temporary workaround for when the MFD shows the “Update” message. That workaround is to, Power up the trolling motor, before powering up the NMEA 2000 network. Once the trolling motor is powered up and has a GPS lock, then power up the NMEA 2000 network and the MFD’s. We know that when navigating to a waypoint, the MotorGuide will not go into anchor mode. We and MotorGuide are working to resolve this. When Navigating a route, the motor will only go to the 1st route point and then “get Lost”. We and MotorGuide are working to resolve this also. I have the same boat. Just ordered my motor and battery. Where do you hook the new charger wires to? How big is the metal plate dimensions?need to have one made. And does running the motor charge the battery enough or will I have to charge it externally? Thanks
... connected the 12v supply to the bus bars in the head, plate is about 7” x 24” x 3/8”, although like I said in the video I would probably go 1/2” if I did it again. As far as running the motor charging the battery all depends how much you use the trolling motor and how long you run your engine. If you run offshore or have to drive through a lot of no wake zones usually charges plenty. But if you leave the ramp and use your trolling motor for 6 hours then only have a 15 min ride back to the ramp that obviously isn’t enough.
