I saw this truck in Washington at Good Guys. He said the same thing then about the 7.3. But in my own experience the torque in the Godzilla does a much better job with the heavier loads.
The Godzilla is good because of the pushrod style old school nascar engine.. The durability is what makes it a good engine. Like the FE 390/360 engines and how bulletproof they are.
Love the truck I never had a 4door but have had just about ever version of these trucks from 1959 to 1979 just love the old ford trucks and that truck cap is so cool 👍
Most will find that these older trucks were built to haul more and work harder. These newer trucks are built to be Caddy’s with truck bodies. They also have all the fancy computers that give ya head aches. I myself went back to the more reliable older trucks and dumped a 2022 GMC AT4 2500 4X4 that the dealer garaged the truck more than I had it in my garage. ( junk) high dollar mistake. Lemon law came into effect and the dealer got to own it again. One can fix up an older truck for less than a down payment on a new one in some cases when ya do the work yourself. I’m now a happy camper and I own my truck and saving thousands of dollars. Ford used to build tough trucks.
My guess for his next version is 6.7 HO. I actually ordered a new ‘23 250 HO 6.7 to do the swap myself using a N series cab but too many other projects. I have new ‘23 F150 5.0 and it’s a gutless wonder at low rpm in normal mode as has cylinder de-activation but does wake up in sport mode. Surprised to hear he liked 5.0 better. I will have 20 forward speeds on my 7.3 Zilla 10R140 swap. Was hoping the extra tq over the 5.0 would help.
I love these old trucks. I have a 1984 K20 with the new trucks costing $50,000 for a two-wheel drive. These old trucks are going to get much, much more popular. They're cheaper and better
Great story on this truck. I bought a 66 k10 and the same thing happened where the family wrote a letter and told me the history of the owner and the truck. My plan was to restore it but I like the patina.
I like the original look the 7.3 engine is a monster I drove the big uhaul with the 7.3 from Nevada to South Dakota and it was a beast .my son has a 2019 f150 with the cayote motor and it’s a beast too
As a Chevy guy who dislikes all other trucks. Dang this is a beautiful bad ass looking truck. Damn they just don’t understand how to make good looking trucks anymore. That front end is just awesome. Think that is some of the biggest failures in truck designs for a long time now as far as looks go. Those F150s for awhile were some of the worse. The heavy duties alway had a cool look. But damn seems like 90s into 2010ish those f150s front ends were atrocious. But damn the front ends and grills of these older trucks are awesome. On this one though it’s just a bad ass look. From the light placements to look and beefy grill. Great looking truck.
Gotta love old Ford trucks. I love the crew cab. Those crew cab trucks back then, were usaully work trucks, so fit and finish wasn't high on the list. Back in the day, workers called them a 'crummy'... I have two 66s. One is a short bed step side F100 2wd. It came factory as a 240 3 on the tree. I drove it all over the country as a 460, Mustang 4 speed. The 460 gave up the ghost at just shy of 250k miles on it. When it finally makes it back in the shop, a 428 is gonna take it's place. The other truck is 66 F100 sheet metal on a 76 HighBoy frame. When the 360 got tired, it went to a 460 30 over, truck 4 speed, and the married transfer case. A three inch body lift, Dana 60's front and rear, all sitting on 38.5 monster mudders. I'm over 6 foot tall, and have to get on tip toe, to see in the bed. Thanx for sharing your story
Such and amazing trick. Solomon, thank you for creating this video and putting it out there. I am a little jealous that he plucked this truck out of my backyard (Bend) 😝 as I would have loved to have found it myself. Keep it up with the great content.
I had a beat 65' F-150 2wd. that I swapped the worn-out 352 for a Olds "Rocket" 350, that fit right in, even the dent in the firewall cleared the dist! Talk about something that would smoke the tires at 60 MPH! It was a real handfull.
I had same color 1965 HD 1/2 ton, four speed, 351 ci….2WD…..one of my favorite trucks ever, And I have had many, all 4WD after the 1970, that I traded the 65 in on…only had the 70 one year…..Thanks for the vid. 👍🏻 And the stories. 🫣😉. A million ? ? Take the million.
Does Kyle have a UA-cam channel? I’ve searched but can’t find anything. I’ve seen an instagram page, but I don’t have one 🤷♂️ here does someone amazing work. His vision is so good
Move that exhaust hanger down some or you will have rust at the exit point on the bed, soon. The moisture and then heat will rust it faster than you think. If you love that truck you have to put a turn down or something else.
This is an amazing truck. Thanks for sharing it his one. It’s honestly a toss up between this and Dukes 1965 for me. Do you know of a slick side crew cab for sale?
Have a 2005 Ford Crown Vic PI. I swapped out a 4.6 and put in a 5.0 Coyote V8 and put in a Ford 6R80 Automatic replace the 4 Speed Automatic with Overdrive
Grandpa truck? Everyone wants a grandpa with that truck. I'm disappointed to hear what he thinks of the godzilla, but love his honesty. Many people with that much money time and effort in a swap like that wouldn't be honest. I've thought of a godzilla swap before, but that guy gives the vibes of someone you should listen too
If you google coyote and then 7.3 Godzilla and read the ratings the coyote has only 10 less horse power and 10 less torque.I would think the coyote is lighter and easier on the truck.
Diesels are better for most tasks in a 3/4 ton truck. But I so agree with you, less nonsense in the engine bay, and it sounds like a truck from that era should. However, I'm a bit of a hypocrite because gold dust is perfect, quite possibly my favorite truck I've ever seen, to the point of I question all the square body chevys I have 😬. Thank you for sharing all these amazing builds with us 🍻
That was one of Americans work horses best ford truck they came out with a 352ci V8 and they hade a 4x4 setup but the trucks were geared low for pulling hay trailer and feed out in field's.
Hey, awesome truck! I have a ‘63 F111. 4x4 292, all original. I really like the tire and wheel set up on this truck. Just what I want mine to look like. Can you share the specs on them? Thanks. Keep up the good work!!!
Man I'm glad he didn't LS or Cummins swap it, that's such a cookie cutter thing to do. I am also superised to hear the Godzilla doesn't handle towing as good as the 5.0L Coyote. As a Coyote F-150 owner I love it to death but I would have assumed the 7.3L Godzilla would tow like a freight train by comparison.
Interested in the godzilla 6r140 4x4 package if its for sale. Currently converting my 1990 f350 crew cab long box. Already completed the 4x4 swap. Truck was an old airline truck.
I like the way he kept it original looking.
me too
I saw this truck in Washington at Good Guys. He said the same thing then about the 7.3. But in my own experience the torque in the Godzilla does a much better job with the heavier loads.
Off camera he was saying in a modern F250 it feels good but in a swap it doesnt
Interesting. I’ve been wanting to put that combo in an Offroadable rig because of the numbers.
The Godzilla is good because of the pushrod style old school nascar engine.. The durability is what makes it a good engine. Like the FE 390/360 engines and how bulletproof they are.
I love it that he drives it. Trucks should be used. Beautiful
its the purpose
Love the truck I never had a 4door but have had just about ever version of these trucks from 1959 to 1979 just love the old ford trucks and that truck cap is so cool 👍
yes sir
absolutely LOVE this truck. I think its awesome he isnt a purist about keeping it all original, and also actually drives the truck.
This slick is perfect. I love that it is so original with the body/interior and not all fluffed up.
makes it even better!
One owner all original kept in a barn! very lucky find for sure.
thats a fact
This truck is perfect. Seen it all over the internet. Amazing job
it truly is
That definitely is one sharp looking truck. Now if it was mine, I'd slap a 292 in it and go on down the road.
My favorite slick crew. Period.
It’s definitely mine too

Amen to that brother

time will tell
What a cool truck. I appreciate his decisions to make it what it is... with changes in the future.

Love the truck my dad had a 65 3/4 ton camper special 2wd white good times
Please leave as is.. too awesome
it sure is
I like the original look the 7.3 engine is a monster I drove the big uhaul with the 7.3 from Nevada to South Dakota and it was a beast .my son has a 2019 f150 with the cayote motor and it’s a beast too
My 2nd favorite truck on your channel! With his dads red crewcab being #1
AMEN!
They do hold the top spots for sure
Had a 65, best truck I ever had an I've had many.
they are so special
That is the coolest truck topper I've ever seen and the only crew cab 66 I've ever seen bad ass
Wow, that is quite the truck. Beautiful!
thanks for watching

So rad
Thank you thank you thank you for this video , I can only dream
Made easier from your video and how could you not love the rear bumper .
Thanks for watching
Love this truck
Me too
Such and amazing trick. Solomon, thank you for creating this video and putting it out there. I am a little jealous that he plucked this truck out of my backyard (Bend) 😝 as I would have loved to have found it myself.
Keep it up with the great content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a sweet truck! Now, we need an explanation as to why the dude doesn't like the Godzilla much and prefers the Coyote.
Love the truck. Had a 65 single cab f100 4x4. Sold it when I was young. Have regretted that for years now.
Now this is how it should be
your right
Una belleza muy difícil ver algo así en ese estado hasta la radio le anda digna de ver saludos desde Mendoza Argentina 💪
Hola 👋
A lot of good things out here in Bend Oregon I just heard him talk about my town
So many
I had a beat 65' F-150 2wd. that I swapped the worn-out 352 for a Olds "Rocket" 350, that fit right in, even the dent in the firewall cleared the dist! Talk about something that would smoke the tires at 60 MPH! It was a real handfull.
Seen truck up at the Goodguys show in Washington . Really nice build . The camper on the back really nice .
Super nice and very interesting experience with the motors too.
Thanks for visiting
I had same color 1965 HD 1/2 ton, four speed, 351 ci….2WD…..one of my favorite trucks ever, And I have had many, all 4WD after the 1970, that I traded the 65 in on…only had the 70 one year…..Thanks for the vid. 👍🏻 And the stories. 🫣😉. A million ? ? Take the million.
Right on
I like the way the doors close
says alot about a truck
I bet that old man is looking down happy to see his truck still doing work.
wow what a find
it sure is
Very tastefully done!
This guy has extremely good taste in trucks.
what ever he does I'm sure it will be awesome!
that is true
Such a cool truck !!!
yes it is
He mentioned that he liked the coyote better than the godzilla. Then he said, "maybe I'll put a 6-cylinder in it.' My guess is ecoboost 3.5 FTW!
🤔
Does Kyle have a UA-cam channel? I’ve searched but can’t find anything. I’ve seen an instagram page, but I don’t have one 🤷♂️ here does someone amazing work. His vision is so good
Hardware Sales is still going strong in Bellingham, Wa 😎
Cool Old 66 Ford F250 4x4 King Cab Truck. keep-it like it is, except put-in the last motor..
Right on
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful
Kyle is a good crazy 66 is my favorite year of Ford
He sure is
Such a beautiful truck
we think so too
I wonder if he’s getting full throttle with that pedal setup.
I’ve driven a Godzilla and the torque and power rocks!
Beautiful truck wouldn't change a thing
its so good
Move that exhaust hanger down some or you will have rust at the exit point on the bed, soon. The moisture and then heat will rust it faster than you think. If you love that truck you have to put a turn down or something else.
Thanks for the tip
If I could I would give this video a thousand plus one “likes”!
We appreciate you
Hardware sales is still up there. Going strong.
This is an amazing truck. Thanks for sharing it his one. It’s honestly a toss up between this and Dukes 1965 for me. Do you know of a slick side crew cab for sale?
A 300 inline 6 turbo would be a cool build
I want to build my 300 like that👍
Ive got a 59 F100 4X4 with that 78-79 Dana 60 HP. M400 C6 NP205 with a Cardan center for a driveshaft.
What a beautiful truck!
Have a 2005 Ford Crown Vic PI. I swapped out a 4.6 and put in a 5.0 Coyote V8 and put in a Ford 6R80 Automatic replace the 4 Speed Automatic with Overdrive
In the Immortal words of George Jones ... "Well, hey ole timer" ... "who's gonna fill their shoes"
Great Tonka.
Very neat.
Very!
Beautiful truck
Beautiful truck and you kinda sound like Jack black😵😎
Grandpa truck? Everyone wants a grandpa with that truck. I'm disappointed to hear what he thinks of the godzilla, but love his honesty. Many people with that much money time and effort in a swap like that wouldn't be honest. I've thought of a godzilla swap before, but that guy gives the vibes of someone you should listen too
ive heard similar testimonies from several others

Building what you want, how can that be crazy?
I think it's great the way it is, but maybe it'll be...greater when it's all done!
grass is always greener
Boys got sugar in his tank
At least he didn't Crap it out with a diesel
Exactly!!
AMEN!
I think a diesel is way better but love gassers too
he loves diesels
Diesels are better for most tasks in a 3/4 ton truck. But I so agree with you, less nonsense in the engine bay, and it sounds like a truck from that era should. Something is better to come and he’s not stupid
way better
Love it
Looks good thanks for putting ford motor in it not some ls junk
That was one of Americans work horses best ford truck they came out with a 352ci V8 and they hade a 4x4 setup but the trucks were geared low for pulling hay trailer and feed out in field's.
That's back when trucks were built with quality in mind but not quality at hand
amen
Hey, awesome truck! I have a ‘63 F111. 4x4 292, all original. I really like the tire and wheel set up on this truck. Just what I want mine to look like. Can you share the specs on them? Thanks. Keep up the good work!!!
Wheels are 16x9 with 9:00x16 superlug tires
Awesome. Thanks.
That's my kind of truck no electronics or emissions crap
Great truck !
Thanks 👍
Who cares what we think, it's his truck. He can do whatever he wants to with it, it's his money!
Its nice to get others involved
People forget trucks were farm equipment. People drove cars. A lot of trucks didn't even have locks on the doors.
Sweet!
Did you build that camper or find it like that love that crome or polish metal
How much is a ton of money?
It’s how much a hamburger costs under Bidenomics
a ton weighs 2000 pounds. Im sure he would take that in Gold for it
Love it. Turbo that old 300 six.
Hi beautiful truck! I gotta 64. WHERE’D U GET THAT TOPPER??
sweet
I have a 64 F100 long bed same color skylight blue
so rad
I hope those lifter bearings last in the Zilla lol I definitely would have put a 7.3 power stroke in it lol
he wont find out, motors already been taken out
ls lifters are the answer :)
What controller is he using for the 6R140? I haven’t heard if the US Shift Quick 6 kit will work with it.
I just can’t see how the Godzilla 7.3 performed worse that the 5.0 Coyote engine
Little 210 CAT would be sweet ride tremec 6 speed with gear vendors Great
That would be cool!
How can you not like this truck?
Pick up girls and tell them you’re the milk man baby 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Man what a truck , how about fuel injection 6 banger
YES!
You better put in a 6.7 that Truck deserves it?
He won’t 😂
I love your job so you can have fun and you can let us have fun to
it is pretty cool
He should put a 7.3 diesel or 6.7 diesel in the version 3.
Should go back with an old school 390
Man I'm glad he didn't LS or Cummins swap it, that's such a cookie cutter thing to do. I am also superised to hear the Godzilla doesn't handle towing as good as the 5.0L Coyote. As a Coyote F-150 owner I love it to death but I would have assumed the 7.3L Godzilla would tow like a freight train by comparison.
Freaking cool...
