You've just dipped your toes into a pool of greatness! There's so much more to find! God Country, Many Deaths of Laila Starr, East of West, Tokyo Ghost, Black Science, Monstress, Blue in Green, Red Mother, Saga, Middlewest, Extremity, Once and Future, Murder Falcon, Nightly News, Ice cream man, Pax Romana, Descender, ❤,... MAN I LOVE COMICS!
Dustin, you are well-read! So many I still need to get.
@@garagegeek4863 what genres are you into? Maybe I can recommend some of these?
Thanks for all the recommendations Dustin. I’ve read God Country and Murder Falcon already but will be sure to check out everything else on there 😊
Y the Last Man omnibus edition costs around 90 quid on Amazon mate. I do know that its highly rated - one of these days I'll get hold of a copy or maybe they will do another print run of the omni...
I haven’t read The Fix or Lady Killer, so I definitely will. The other three absolute must-reads. Definitely do a part two.
Thanks mate. Will do 😊 would love to know what you think of lady killer and the fix when you get round to em
Incredible list Cade! Never heard of the Fix, might have to check that one out. All others I own but haven't gotten around to reading yet (except Paper Girls - I've read that one).
Have you checked out Something is Killing The Children?
Thanks for checking out the video Jenniffer glad you liked it. I’ve read the first 3 tpbs and own the 4th one but haven’t read it yet
Glad to see Lady Killer on there. One of my favourites for certain and really looking forward to the next part later this year. Not heard of The Fix but sound good but does Spencer ever finish anything? I’m reading and enjoying Morning Glories at the moment and I know that’s unfinished as well. I would recommend Lazarus, Berlin, The Killer, Stumptown and Locas by Jaime Hernandez from way back.
Thanks for your recommendations. I’ve heard good things about the morning glories but haven’t checked it out. I’ve got volume 2 of his Spidey Omnibus coming out next month so looking forward to that. Hope you enjoy the fox if you decide to check it out 😊
For me I like the slice of life kinds of books so I'll recommend to you to check out these titles. First off, American Splendor by the late Harvey Pekar. It's just life stories of a writer who's also a file clerk at a hospital. It goes through all of life's ups and downs and as far as I can tell it's the first autobiographical comic. Second is Optic Nerve by Adrian Tomine. These are great comics that started out as short stories and evolved into one issue comics and then into multi issue stories. It's from the perspective of an American born Asian Gen-Xer. These are really great stories as well - not autobiographical but more slice of life stories about people you might know. Finally I will recommend Love & Rockets by Jaime & Gilbert Hernandez. These start out more like fantasy stories about the regular people who live in a superhero's world. As the comic evolves, it becomes more slice of life stories as these characters grow up in real time. I hope you find interest in some of these comics as they are my favorite comics of all. Thanks for reading!
Thanks for checking out the video and the recommendations. I absolutely loved Adrian Tomine’s Shortcomings and Killing and Dying. So will definitely check out Optic Nerve. The others sound great too. Can’t wait to check them out. Thanks 😊
Deadly Class is a series I always recommend, Punk Rock Jesus is also an amazing stand alone story by Sean Murphy
Thanks for checking out the video, I'll look into Punk Rock Jesus. Not heard of that one before :)
Punk Rock Jesus was great, but a bit of an underwhelming ending.
Hmmm... Here's five non-superhero books from five different publishers:
Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire (Vertigo)
Alex + Ada by Jonathan Luna (Image)
Blacksad by Juan Diaz Canales (Dark Horse)
The Night Eaters by Marjorie Liu (Abrams)
Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley (Oni Press)
Thanks Richard. Heard great things about Blacksad so will be looking into it 😊
