Also, I sorta forgot to include something. Form an LLC. It helps with taxes. You need to fill out some paperwork, but it’s not that hard. Also if you are under 18 you need to use a PayPal in your parent’s name, (this will all work out with taxes. if you set up an LLC) also you need an LLC for ASCAP / BMI so you can actually collect publishing.
How can u be the only one who doesn't talk smack for 17 minutes and then wants me to buy a course? respect to u for getting straight to the point and helping us struggling producers out here.

I sold my first exclusive beat the other day and some advice i have is to make beats that you feel are original and unique. Those are the 2 main key features to selling beats.
Thanks Kbeazy. I just starting taking music producing seriously like a month ago, and i got a BeatStars account but haven't gotten a sale yet. Selling loop kits and other things u mentioned helped a lot. Thanks, u the 🐐
Every single producer here in this chat I hope you become successful in 2022! At the end of the year you will see the result of your daily efforts, even if you have to grind a lot before you get to see any of it
I know how that is to sell your first beat or first beat placement with artist.. it’s crazy back in late 2017 I was barely starting to produce and I use to watch k beazy but I believe you just started uploading tutorials and I fw from the beginning! U taught me a lot and I thank you now I got beat placements with la socket and his whole crew and slimesito 10kdunkin 645ar nygeeyl
As mark cuban says in Shark Tank “10% of a watermelon is bigger than 100% of a grape.” Labels do a lot of the work for you, like marketing and so on. On the downside, you lose creative control...
Alot of times a label offers an advance which is a fat check usually in the millions and arstists see the 0s and they sign.Thing is this advance has to be paid back.
in my experience all my costumers is from fb, bcause in every fb group theres a bunch of rappers that can see your post with a link of youtube of your beats, try to connect with rappers, have a nice relation to them, because sometimes they have connection to great artist
No offense, but I didn’t learn anything in this video. I know producers can sell beats, sounds, etc. but what I don’t know is how to build a fan base and how to find artists to work with.
Really it just boils down to following commenting subbing and spamming people on all socials. Or, if u have money pay for marketing. But most people don't have money
If you wanna become the best producer, you gotta become the best locally. Start by finding your local hip hop scene (or whatever genre you like). If you live in a small town it may seem like there’s nothing but 99% of the time theres always a small scene, you can also find a bigger scene in the city/larger town closest to you. Find the artists, support their work, build relationships. Dont hit them with “Hi, im a producer, blah blah” they dont wanna hear that. Actually take time to listen to their music, ask questions, give genuine compliments or feedback. Give them some free beats, I know a lot of people disagree with this but it is essential that you work first to learn then to earn. If the artist doesn’t get back to you for more beats at payment or royalties then your beats aren’t good enough or different enough. This is building up for placements, you’ll meet more and more people and artists and keep building. At the same time upload type beats, build your socials, make tons of content (videos of you making beats, bedroom studio tours, reviews etc) this is building a brand based on you as a person, there’s gaps in the market for producers on social media. You could also sell drum kits like Beazy said and also teach people how to make beats on fiverr or sell mixing and mastering skills on fiverr to generate income for better equipment, instagram ads etc. Also you could sell anything you dont need, clothes, consoles etc. Hope this helps :)
Hoopla Spamming on random socials is cringe though. If I ever see those baggy comments, I do the opposite of what they’re asking. I’m not gonna check out someone’s content because they’re spamming hundreds of UA-cam videos
Yo Imma be honest your videos have been showing up in my feed for months and I thought you were full of shit, but you seem real genuine. Idk if imma sub just yet but this video was really good keep it up.
You are technically a *Composer* aka *Songwriter* if you only just make beats as making beats alone doesn't make you a Producer. The role of a *Record Producer* aka *Music Producer* is a professional that works in the studio with the Artist and Engineer the oversees the production recording sessions all the way down to the mix. They provide a musical insight and technical direction to the Artist, Engineer and Musican. They help the Artist get the best vocal peformance out of them and pick the best takes. They hire session musicians, String Conductors, Arrangers, Composers, Writers, Engineers. They may occasionally help co-write songs or compose the orignal music. This esp true for Hip Hop Producer's such as Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, Dr. DRE, Scott Storch or Rodney Jerkins as they are wearing two hats as the Composer the makes the beats and Traditional Record Producer's when they are in the studio with the Artist and Engineer that sees the whole thing through all the way down to the mix as they are what you call a *Record Producer / Songwriter's.* That is why they are credited as Songwriter and Producer for both roles when you acutally look at their credits. I wear both hats myself as I don't send beats off to people neither does Scott Storch as I'm a real Record Producer like Quincy Jones that colaborates with the Artist in the studio until the record is finished. *PRODUCER=DIRECTOR (PRODUCER OF MASTER RECORDINGS)* *SONGWRITER=BEAT MAKING / LYRICIST (COMPOSER'S OF SONGS)*
@KBeazy this video was very informative and quite necessary for the new aspiring producers. As far as Twitch goes, it’s only beneficial to gamers and producers that are Windows/PC based. StreamLabs OBS seems to only be catering to those users. I’ve contacted them multiple times inquiring about a Mac version of the program which they didn’t seem too interested in creating. So what are we, the thousands of Mac users, left to do to fully take advantage of Twitch?

Beazer got me into posting type beats that’s how I got my first sale
can you explain getting paid being under 18 years old? bc PayPal, BMI and most platforms require being 18, and this info isn't anywhere online
versus beats you gotta have your parents PayPal. BMI or ascap can be registered if you’re under 18 with a parent form to fill out or sum
what he said^
What about cash app? Do you have to be older than 18
Been selling stuff on eBay since I was 14 with my own PayPal and eBay account 😂

We try to tell these new rappers about these things. I’m happy you doing it too.

So then why do artists sign with labels if they are only going to get 10%-15%?
GENC they get publicity to get shows and that’s where the artists makes a lot of their cash is from live performances
Because 10% of a million is $100k vs 100% of $10k independently bigger backing/infrastructure = more $$$
