Making a Beat Series ► bit.ly/2moO5he
"Making a Beat” series is all about the process. I will strictly be making beats in this series and display them as cinematic as possible. Fan favorite for all the die hard producers who follow me. I will be making hip hop beats, rap beats, trap beats, edm beats, and many more throughout these episodes. So enjoy and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section.

😅,
Thats wassp ryt there
I'm DMing both 😂
Lol.
Been doing this EXACT same thing for a year and it does work. Ya'll need to appreciate the free sauce more, it's crazy that people share legit ways to succeed. Crazyyy. s/o Kyle
JJ LUNDIN do you make a living off of it? Right now I'm just building a catalog of beats up so in a month I can start distributing and focus on marketing, how did you start out if you dont mind me asking?
Dark Knight haha I wish I was making a living off of it. But I can genuinely confirm that Kyles method that he’s sharing actually works. If you look at my Twitter and IG DM’s, you would spend a good amount of time just scrolling and scrolling and seeing all these convos with different artists. Sometimes you can make a sale, sometimes you don’t. But the method does work 100%. And the way I started off.... I just kept uploading beat after beat bro. Showing people your consistency and always staying in their face. Of course not every beat is gonna grab peoples attention but it’s the fact that they see you uploading on a daily. So basically you’re on a very good start building your catalog 🔥 but you also can market or w.e at the same time
Will this method work if you don't have many followers or posts on Instagram?
Gray of course
Bet
Consistency is the key to success. Just keep uploading beats. No matter if it’s trash or not, someone is going to like what you create. Just stay consistent
Keeys I dunno, I’ve made some straight garbage lol.
That’s nonsense. A mate of mine put up 380 three minute tracks in a year. Didn’t sell one...lol
Keeys where do I upload my beats cuz I feel like if I upload my shit to UA-cam some random person could steal it and act like they made it
@@gotronnight then tag ur beats. Put one every 10 15 sec so its almost impossible to sample it and sell them tag free.
@@graxx1451 There's a difference between making a trash beat and being trash at making beats. Don't get me wrong anyone could do it if u put enough work into it and all that. But yeah, OP is right on this one.
Hustle. Do the shit other producers are too lazy to do. Be creative. Be personal. Don't just sell sell sell. Offer something first then try to sell after.
CrackaLackTV I’m still pretty new in the beat game, but I was always curious about the process of selling though. When someone sells a beat, and that beat gets super hot, either on social media, or even a popular song that the artist puts out. Is there any form of residuals formed, or contracts up front? Like, even during the earlier days when your just promoting and marketing yourself.
It's really up to the producer and wether he prepared a contract or not. That's why selling beat is more than just making good music : you also need to be savy on the buisness side of things or hire a good lawyer. Not to mention the branding and marketing.
@@6FtBeats exactly

hes mumble producer so i think its pointless xddd

Kyle beats inspired me to get off the streets. I was homeless when I started watching your videos!!!
My mom and pops, friend after friend OD'ing geting hit by cars, shot, passing away, one after another, and I kind of lost my mind. Started going in and out of jail, rehabs. Almost gave up on life. You reminded me how much I missed and loved making music!!! Found your videos at the library! Your positively Is contagious!!! I Started with the fl mobile app and with my stimulus checks I bought fl studio 20 and a laptop, used to charge at the library binge watch kyle beats and Simon Servida, and go hole up and cook up at night!!. I would have never checked in the hospital or got my meds worked out! Or cared to get my life back, if it wasn't for kyle beats!! Now I got a pad and a website and I have klye beats to thank!!!!! Now I'm doing cook up videos of my own!!! Can't express my gratitude!!!
The most I love about producers (wouldn't call myself one) is the posutivity. No one's ever toxic to someone else. It's 100% support and hyping each other up!
You’re right bro it’s a great community
This worked, helped me make about $3000 my first month.
Daamm. Didn't know u can get so much selling beats. Good job 👍👍👍
How many beats did u start with?
foreal tho
Sorry for being late but a beat can go for up to like $300 to as low as $20
RT Type Beats man if those are leases you need to sell as many as you can beat packs are so cheap but if you sell a lot it will definitely be worth it
5:40 is when he starts explaining what he did.
Cool thanks for letting me know
would have missed out on 5mins of actual unexpected cool content.

When is the podcast coming? I cant wait any longer 😅
I’m sorry soon
Bro the podcast is not good. You gotta actually ask provoking questions. If they end up talking for like 30mins from one question, you did a great job.
And try to keep the topic off you.
Doopadoo Man its good
It's the man himself lol 😂❤️
I need to sell one Beat 😭 🙏🏻
same lol
I was in your situation last year man. use social media to contact rappers. BUT DONT SPAM- NEVER SPAM- No "check out my page" bullshit. No follow back bullshit. Be genuine
Same
Same lol
Hell yea lol
I just want to tell you that this video helped me more than I could possibly put into words and that you're one of the people I try to model myself after. This isn't really an accurate representation of the gratitude and gratefulness I feel right now but seriously, thank you Kyle, for putting this video up and thank you for making beats and doing your thing man.
Kyle thank you for giving actual real advice. Usually people just say bull $hit, and trust me I’ve done the research. Thanks bro
This video is wtf I needed 👌🏾
I love the marketing advice. Just started dropping a beat a day 2 days ago. Beat number 3 tomorrow. I just need to find the right marketing scheme. Thanks bro!
My dream is to become an entrepreneur and make my own money by being my own boss. I'm gonna start a massage therapy school so I'll be a massage therapist in a little bit over a year or so and gonna be starting my entrepreneur learning that route. I've started making music and now I'm taking it a bit more seriously and I've got 2 guys to feat on my songs by far. My raps skills are way better than my beat making skills but I'm learning producing on my own too so your channel has been a huge help! I definitely want to be selling beats and wanna make revenue off of that in the future so I'm definitely gonna use your tips here! Mainly I'm a rapper but being your own producer too makes it much easier for yourself as an artist. And when I start making money enough I can be proud of myself 'cause I made it all by myself and with help of other artists featuring. I know I can make it and I will! Love your channel keep your positive vibes up like you always do and keep on grinding and doing your thing man! Much love from Finland!
Im also from Finland i got beats 4 u homie
Massage industry is sleazy man. You’ll probably get done touching up some woman, end up in jail.
Janne Rajaranta yes I’d like to do something like that as well I just don’t know how too
aye man goodluck, massage therapy is an amazing career in itself, ur gonna be doing fine my guy
Thanks brother for the tips I’m a producer who’s trying to get back in to the game after having a minor stroke but luckily I didn’t get my right hand paralyzed lol I’m going to be making my beats from my room at the nursing home lol thanks for your advice I will definitely build my brand and build from a film placement I had in a Bruce Willis movie, I produced the hip hop song in the strip club scene in the movie and I even got my name on the screen at the end of the movie lol
Bro this video is real dope.. Im in the process of launching a new production/media company and luckily I have like 6 + years of business/sales experience but I had to learn everything the hard way. There are very few people who actually just tell the truth about the business side of being a producer and keep it real. Much appreciated .
Dude that was great advice. I want to point out how you said start vlogs of you making beats. Just like how you said, uploading just visualizers won't sell like they used to, I'm starting to think that the DMing thing is going to start being less effective. Recording vlogs of cooking up some beats is going to be the new way for producers to get their name out there. Mark my words.
Most educational channel on youtube in regards to stuff like this. Keep up the good work bro!
I look up to this dude 💯
Man, this was a really good video. I love your other videos too, but it was really great to hear how you pulled this off. Congrats Kyle!
In Germany the contest is at 1am^^ I will be there !
Yo I'm early this time. Bro kyle you're the goat FAM. My main inspiration for making beats
You just opened up a new world for me 💯👌🏽 liked and subbed
You're an amazing individual. God bless you for this. I've been a subscriber since about 20k even though I'm not really a fan of the beats (i don't necessarily like trap) but a fan of the way you think. This was really helpful and everything you said is spot on. I feel so much more energized to continue producing and doing other stuff right now. Thanks bro.
Thank you 🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Man, this is exactly what I needed to hear. The one thing I was afraid of doing is literally the key.
Damn! Thank you man! You've already become my inspiration and I love coming back to your channel. There's so many things to learn from you. Keep safe man!
Soccer is the best sport.
Kyle proves it.
Keegan this lowkey funny af
it's FOOTBALL

At the beginning I thought this was a Tai Lopez type of vid, but I'm glad I stayed because it was honest and down to earth. Thanks!
Very very informative. Thx a lot I really appreciate someone taking the time out to give other people this knowledge. Much love mane
basically the key to success selling beats (just like for anything in this world) is patience, discipline, and consistence. if you really want this you'll do what you need to do everyday and wait until it gets where it needs to be.
Great video man, I was thinking for your next video breaking down how you sell your beats with the different pricing and leases would be really useful. It's still one area of the process I haven't be able to fully get to graps with. Looking forward to the podcast keep it up 🔥👍
Kylebeats is proof that hard work gets you places. Story was great and an inspiration for people to go out and keep hustling.
Some very overlooked tips right here but thank you Kyle for bringing them back to our attention!
Thank you so much Kyle for all the videos you put out, really helps a lot :)
Today on Valentines day 2020 i will try to do what you just taught me in this video!!!
(i will then come back to this comment Valentines day 2021 and see if it worked out)
btw Thanks for sharing this valuable knowledge!!!
Hopefully I remember to check back to this to see your progress along with mine potentially! Good luck to you man! Make the music you love!
how is it going so far?
how you doing?? lol
What happened?
Yoh Kyle thanks man. I've been searching for this kinda #Vlog for a while now... this sh*t crazy🤟 now I know where to start for my journey to a successful Beat selling ✌🏻🔥🔥
Yo Kyle, I watched a while 3 minute ad for you
Me too, I had the pussycat dolls new video, sex really does sell
I have been producing beats for one year now. So far i upload all of them for free but hopefully someday i can make living from it. 🙏🏻 Thank you for inspiring small producers like me Kyle ! We appreciate it ! ✊🏻
I'm litterally doing your practice right now kyle! and it works!
Ayy dope!
yea also doing the same thing on rapchat just became a featured producer on there
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this now. Gold Kyle. Thanks man
Thank You, this was inspiring man. :)
Every single producer here in this chat I hope you become successful in 2022!
At the end of the year you will see the result of your daily efforts, even when you have to grind a lot before you get to see any of it
this is so useful bro i’m starting out rn and i’m only 16 so i’m not really tryna make a living, just tryna sell to get money in my pocket and imma use you advice
🌊🙌🏼🙌🏼
same bro . i am 15 now and i sold 20 beats and withthat money i went to partys or go out with friends ... u know what i mean ... s/o to you Kyle
PIMP bro I just started like a week ago and I barely know shit. It’s took me like 3 hours yesterday to make some piano loop, not even a full melody
@@julianosoria6421 no don't use midis, at least not at first. Work on learning to make your own melodies first.
You just gained another follower. I appreciate your honesty and work man!
I love this. I've been leaning towards doing exactly that.
preciate the gems bro 💎🔥 the drip plugin 🔥🔥fosho
4:36 . Yea that sun setting.. Hows that aroma? Whats the sunset smell like bro?
Another nice vid. Also I love the 1-10 challenges as the people who send their stuff get a big boost in their producing career.
Might start vloging 🤔
Can't believe I've never come across this channel before, crazy good tips, great beats, and quality videos good shit bro
Bout time my guy 🔥

dudes editing gives me anxiety. I don't believe he can string a sentence together without cutting it.
yo this video was super helpful man! keep up the work i love your stuff!
Thanks for making videos 🎹
you've grown so much, keep it up brother, love your beats
Thank you 🙌🏼😃
Actually helpful
Thanks for insipiring us bro as a producer/beatmaker it helps alot to see what we can do if we put some hardwork on what we love, more power bro!
Great advice man
Yo Kyle - I watched this UA-cam video you made. Good job 👍
You an inspiration fr bro 🙏🏾
Once again a great video with helpful information. Appreciate everything you do Kyle. 100%
How much did you sell each beat for?
He said $100
Makes so much sense. I just started my channel about a month ago and I just expected this huge positive reaction so soon knowing thtas not how it works and its going to take more than posting a few vids. Just gotta learn to brand myself better.
You have been workin' out a lot recently.
Cam meekins has been the reason I really got into hip hop. That shout out at the beginning of the video made my day
You really need to get to the point faster. There is so many distractions and you interrupt yourself several times.
Good shit homie I respect the hustle and this definitely opened my horizon
Lmao, targeted ads the primitive way. You serpent 😂
You sound like one of the most chill down to earth producers on UA-cam.
Thank you! Make sure you subscribe !
@@KyleBeats_ Already did! Love your videos man! Thanks for responding.
Waddup Kyle
Thanks man this looks helpfull also I've subscribed! Great content!
i needed this
I just wanna add guys; if you are hitting up artists on social media, make sure to actually listen to their stuff and support them. I feel like that's just the ethically right thing to do as opposed to straight lying.
Doing it this way, requires copyrights. Talk about the legal aspects...and how much out of pocket costs you pay. Explain how you came up with the contracts. There's a whole lot you're not telling everybody. The best advice is the vlogging part. Making beats live online...like Chuki Beats or whatever he's called.
TheChosenOne yo what about the bandcamp/distrokid method?
Titans Tracks Distrokid and streaming services are the way to publish and get paid but, as far as I read, they don't grant copyrights. You, actually have to apply for a copyright with the United States Copyright Office. What he says is actually true and should theoretically work because that's what a lot of people are doing but when it comes to legalities...that part, here's leaving out. That's like the other 50% of what it takes to make it. If you don't use copyrights...you'll never be able to take anyone to court and win. Here's also not telling you how badly everyone is stealing everyone else's content. Watch Ave Mcree's last upload on how he found out that Splice is reselling his free sample packs. WTF? Splice! And other DJs that repackage his original samples and sell them as their own. Yup...it's a tough business if you're new. A lot of hoops to jump through.
TheChosenOne I see thx for the advice. What did you mention about doing beats live online? like livestreaming yourself making the beat?
The whole making beats live is a quick way to show everyone, you got skills. That's a quick way to get your face out there and make a name for yourself. It also helps to make ad revenue off your content on YT. So, doing those Make a Beat Live in 5 minutes, is just marketing.
Anyway, on a more serious topic, this guy is telling the truth. I actually support everything he's saying because this is exactly how guys actually are making money. The only thing that makes say, this guy different than the next, isn't the gear. I mean, look at what he's working with. It's not a million dollar studio. In fact, it looks like his bedroom. The only thing that makes him successful is his drive. The fact that he sticks to his routine should be proof enough.
He found a routine that works for him and he's actually sharing it.People like Billy Idol, used to give away the secrets of how he made his music. When they asked him, why do you just give away your secrets so anyone can do what you do? He replied...because most people won't. Same with Michael Jackson. Heck, there's even an interview you can watch online where he explains exactly how he comes up with his music. Why does just give it away like that. for anyone to follow his formula? Because they're not him. It's just something internal that you can't replicate. So it doesn't matter what the formula is...if you're not him, it just doesn't function the same way for one single reason....people just don't or won't bother.
It sounds like you got drive and spirit...asking questions and such. Just wake up tomorrow and tell yourself, this is the start. Get a routine that you can commit to, like this guy. Dude...everyone that does this and is successful has a routine. They're not out there smoking bud all the time. If they do toke, it's probably for inspiration but deep down there's that pain they deal with and a voice that says don't fuck this up. You will do this.
I actually had a real keyboard to write this with, which is why this response is longer than my last ones. Anyway, the point to all this is, that you got to have drive and will. Even if you suck ass at beats, there's no way you can suck worst at it tomorrow, right? So, just keep at it until something happens.
I'm not a beats guy. I actually chose a different path in life but I know the science of audio engineering. I can make beats. In fact, I have several complete songs that I can't rap to because...well, I'm white. I not Marshall Mathers either but somebody will spit to my beat. I just need to find that one guy, which is why I too watched this video. Again, I agree with everything he says because it is the trend to follow. It's just that the only person this information will be of value is the person that actually gets off his ass to do it...like you and me.
I do music part time. I was going to school and working while trying to build my home studio. It took me 3 years to have decent gear, and 2 more years to have legit software licenses for everything I have. I spent those years studying audio engineering on my own while studying for two degrees in Mathematics and Experimental Physics. So, now that I'm ready to start putting my stuff out there, I wanted to see how other people that are successful are doing it and just follow the trend. The formula is easy AF. Like I said, he's still leaving out the out of pockets costs and legalities.
While I'm writing all this and if anyone cares to read it, I'll just fill in what he's not mentioning. Group ALL your songs together and make them an "album". You can copyright ALL the songs at once for one fee or copyright just one song. Do it as a group. You can do whatever you want with each song individually, but as long as you copyright one or all, each song is counted as a copyrighted piece of work bound to you. Next, get signed up with ASCAP, because you and I are "broke". Once you're bigger, BMI. Pay the one time fee. Sign up with Distrokid. Publish to Spotify and Tidal. Collect the checks. If somone steals ANYTHING you do, you got ASCAP on your side and copyrights to collect damages. That's where the copyright is worth it. Without it, you can collect damages. So, if they made a 1 million dollars with your beat and you win in court without a copyright. They have to stop making any more money off your beat but they can keep the million. With a copyright, they have to give you the million and stop making more money. See how that works? Easy, right?
Go....do.
Titans Tracks Yea
Dude I love the vlog vibe!
🐐
SIKKY BEATS Yoo love your music!!

that’s just youtubers these days. You have to skip the first few minutes to get to the video. They’re all trying to push that 10 minute + mark
Whats the best method of transaction? How can I sell a beat without worrying if they’ll steal it without paying?
I actually need this answer too👀

Don’t “spam”

thank you. Ive been going through many vids on how to sell beats and this one was the most helpful.
How much would you charge for a beat at the start?
I'd say a lease for like 30 then an exclusive for 150ish
Im selling for 6$ still no one bought haha
