Hobbit Inspired Spice Box

I made a hobbit spice kit from some straight grained spruce. I marked a split the spruce into half inch pieces. The pieces were hand planed flat then glued. I cut the pieces to length then glued and clamped them. I only had one hinge so I marked and chiseled a recess for it. It rook a lot of searching to find the tiny screws needed for the hinge. I used a bent nail and two screws for the latch. I wrote Hobbit Spice Kit on the lid and filled it with an assortment of different spices. I used sandwich bags for now until I can find some tiny food safe containers. If my woodburning kit was still working I definitely would have used it. This kit will probably stay at the cabin even though I have spices there already.

Fun fact, cause I got so much to tell you...😂
I am making a hobbit home hopefully starting this fall.
I had a place cleared and ready to go...woods there waiting.
And I found a better spot on the property where 2 old gravel pits are dug out of a 20 foot mini esker of glacial River run off.
I want my perminant home in the ground.
Not a CLUE what I'm doing...
