Bow Drill Set From Scratch- Will It Work?

I attempt to make a bowdrill set from items in the field behind my house. Most bow drill videos on UA-cam are made with seasoned sets that have been dried and tested. I want to see if I can build a fire with only items I can find along with my knife and shoelace. It is difficult to find the right type and shape of wood to make a bowdrill set. The wood and tinder also needs to be dry. Chances are in a real survival situation where you would need to build a fire, conditions will not be favorable. Weather, location, knowledge and supplies on hand will determine whether a bowdrill fire will be possible. Physical condition will also play a role. I made this video to test myself and share my results. Chopping out the v-notch with a knife made it difficult to get the precise angle needed. The notch was too wide for the coal dust to pile up and create an ember. Plus the wood wasn't completely dry either. That's the reality
