Für mich der genialste Gitarrist und Songschreiber in der damaligen Zeit-Epoche. Schätze mich glücklich ihn in Stuttgart Live erlebt zu haben. Leider viel zu früh ins Nirvana gegangen ( der verdammte Devil Alkohol ! ). Die meiner Ansicht nach besten Gitarristen der besten Dekade der Blues-Rock- Ära ( 1970 - 1980 ) ist neben Rory noch Gary Moor ebenfalls Ire ohne die vielen anderen dabei schmälern zu wollen. Rory Gallagher ist mein absoluter Favorit dem ich meine Liebe zur E-Gitarre verdanke. R.I.P Rory
Keiner seiner Songs ist langweilig, jeder dieser Songs sind verschieden,hat seine Eigenheit, Ehrlichkeit,ist wie vier Wochen Urlaub und jeder Tag hat andere Faszination.Das ist Musik für jede Jahreszeit.
It breaks my heart to see him in such bad health sometimes life can be cruel….when I was a teenager in 1977 the year I bought calling card Rory’s album I thought this guy is the worlds greatest blues guitarist and the world is his oyster but as a fan I didn’t know about pressure from record companies/self doubt /fear of flying/stage fright ….and all those demons that drove rory to seek help from pills and drink and his relentless touring schedule that never seemed to end……can you imagine how he would be revered and what type of blues would he be playing if he had lived. I miss him so much REST IN PEACE RORY no more demons no more pills or drink or doubt just loving eternal rest for the greatest genuine blues man ever.

I remember being shocked by his bloated appearance in Bristol in the late 80s. He was clearly ill but stubbornly refused advice. He should be playing in a pub near his farm in Ireland now.

I was fortunate enough to have saw Rory Gallagher a few times but I live in Glasgow Scotland and he was here often in Scotland, OR it was not a problem to travel down cross the English border to see him, he was always amazing

Always gave 110%. I had the good fortune to see him in the early seventies when most would consider to be his best period. Always got a great reception from the audience and left the place jumping. He doesn’t look great in this video, still giving it his all. God if I could play like this I would die happy. RIP Rory.

Bit of a shaky start but he finds himself after a while. I feel sometimes there is a cry for help (eg. Mean disposition). No matter what was going on, he poured his heart and soul into every performance. Extraordinary musician, unique human being. His own man, never sold it. Stayed true to his ethical and musical beliefs to the end. A beautiful man both spiritually and physically. Gone too soon. His musical legacy lives on. 👍✌️❤️

@ STRATMAN......I've said it before. The RRHOF isn't where Rory should be. I've always thought The BLUES Hall of Fame is where this man belongs. So many of the old Bluesmen that Rory had so much admiration and respect for are there, he deserves to be with them. I'd also love to see the Cork Airport name changed in Rory's honour. Give the man World recognition, he certainly earned it!

I agree Linda with you for two reasons. The first is that you're spot on. Rory lived his life, and died, dedicated to the Blues. He worshipped the early bluesmen, and he lived his life like a pious monk dedicated solely to his craft. The second reason is quite obvious. The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. It is biased and the selections are made at the whims of a man and his minions that have historically gotten it wrong on so many levels. The best karmic moment I've ever witnessed was when RUSH was inducted by Jann Wenner in Los Angeles and the entire place went NUTS!!! That was followed by Alex Lifeson's very appropriate speech. Rory is much too good and so much better than that place.
May his soul rest in peace, we love him and million thanks for the concert which was 5 years before he left us 🌼💕💕🌿🕊🌷

sorry i always post the same thing but its true,i saw rory 3 times in the 70s in small venues in bristol,in my opinion just the best ever,ive saw the so say best guitarists ever over the year page,beck,clapton,the late great alvin lee who on any night was right up there,brian may,blackmoore,peter green,gilmour,kossoff,gary moore,while they are n were all brilliant rory will always be that bit better,hey there all brits aswell,hes with god now jamming,bonzo on drums,andy fraser bass,emerson keybourds,now thats sum line up,R.I.P all of you.

Saw & heard him, McAvoy and McKenna at Gothenburg Concert Hall somewhere around 1980. It was the promotion tour for 'Photo Finish'. Awesome concert. One of the best in my life ...

Great blues guitar and vocals. These were the things that Rory excelled at. We will never see his like again.Gone before his time, but always remembered for his musical talent.

The G- Man will always be my number one guitarist, he loved to play. You taught me so much about that strat, the sounds are totally mind blowing. I know how you felt about loving your strat, I feel the same way about mine. It is one amazing feeling, thank you Rory for all you gave to me. I will never stop learning just keep on practicing until I feel comfortable with myself. Until we meet face to face Rory, then my dreams will be reality.

Well yes. You're right. It seems he sang same thing in another performance....I believe he was in Cork in 90's. It's a hard deal to figure out when it comes to Rory. MAYBE his brother will finally come out with biography. Maybe he never will. That would be a shame. Rory seemed to have been pretty much let down a lot. That's a tiring thing for a sensitive type. Personally I wonder what went down when his dad and mom divorced. Nobody says a thing as if that's just normal, parent divorcing. I've read everything I can find about Rory and never a word about that. Suddenly he was man of the house... anyway. I've always found him very fair in interviews and supported his ideas with great stuff. He knew what he was about. MAYBE just a little too dedicated to his music..... So many people just kinda be puppets and get thru it however. He was a good guy

Fun crowd. Germans adored him. Steroid injections for pain ( guitar hands) messed him up so badly. I honestly feel he would ha e been better off with morphine for a show! He is happy here in this show. He did spend a lot of months sober a couple times in the early 90s. He tried. Do love him.

@Cynthia Marston That's right! Just like Steamhammer he was very popular in Germany. He played at an open air concert in my then home town Bielefeld in 1970. However, me being a schoolboy I couldn't afford a ticket which was very sad.
Didn't know about his hand; I just know that Keith Emerson had a similar problem (focal dystonia), I suppose due to his excessive keyboard play and the illness might have been a reason for his suicide in 2016.

I've wondered many times how great it would have been if Rory had been able to pull through the hard time he was having. He'd be more in demand today than ever. I think of other musicians (VInce Gill comes immediately to mind) who hold him in such high regard. If only!!

@ Hans Wagner.........I'd much prefer to see an Airport named after the one and only Rory Gallagher. He's too good for the R+R Hall of Shame. If they inducted Rory, they'd all be left scratching their heads as to what the hell many other inductees were doing there in the first place. Just google to sign petition, PLEASE?
Great to see Rory of course, but he’s a shadow of guy I’d seen 20 years before at Marquee. Heavy use of fx boxes such as octave unit and flanger. At height of his powers all he needed was basically the strat and an AC30.
