A true gentleman, eloquent both verbally & musically; modest; man of the people; no "star" antics or pretensions. I saw him only once 1972 Xmas-New Year concert , Dublin National Stadium. A terrible, unnecessary loss to Ireland and far beyond. World's greatest guitarist , ever, with a true, rich singing voice. R.I.P. Rory.
Love Rory to the moon and back but he's no Hendrix.
@@OM10PYE That's like comparing an apple & an orange. Hendrix's music sterile - no acoustic picking skill either.
Hendrix like Clapton was incredibly over rated and one dimensional. This man was multiples of them different too but on the same level as Jeff Beck.
Yes Rory was a gentleman. All silly things about best guitar player Rory was a beautiful human!!!!
On the eighth day good Lord created the guitar. And then he passed it to Rory Gallagher...
He was so sensitive, humble, polite and shy off stage. A real Gentleman. And his doctors gave Paracetamol injections and Steroids to a drinking man. What a shame.
This could no liver tolerate.
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as him.
give me the name of the doctors Family?
Absolutely. Those Dr's basically killed him.😪😔🙏
you could tell the steroid side effects on him later on with the rounding of the face or moon face as they call it ,and the heavy sweating, now why the fuck would you put him on this kind of shit etc and combined with the drink and you got one toxic combo, what a shame!!!
@@joachimdahl233 Dont blame the family.. just the asshole doctors..
The doctors should have been sued.. were they? Why wasn't his liver check they knew he drank and then maybe they could have not given him steroids and the other crap they gave him. Even if he never took a drink the steroids are not good for anyone! I'm saying that the doctors should have been sued I wonder if they were there was suing involved in Elvis's case and other people too so why not with Rory unless maybe the doctors were sued and we just didn't hear about it. If not, why didn't someone sue them? Rory was a beautiful wonderful man he should still be with us now playing thank God we have his music. What a beautiful wonderful man he was kind to others humble respectful and so talented he gave everything he had to his music and to his audiences. I will love him forever for all eternity Angel Rory.
He was so beautiful, miss & love him so much!! 🍀🥰🍀🥰
Musicians like this are so rare. Understanding the fact that they are so different musically, it's not difficult to realize that a few centuries or more might pass before another Rory Gallagher or Frank Zappa ever comes along again. Like diamonds hidden in the bowels of the earth, waiting to come to the surface. How fortunate are we to have had them in our lifetime?
Whisky River so well put🎸🎼🎶🎶🎸
Not like Zappa at all..Zappa was great, but a totally different style, Frank was sort of fusion jazz, and comedy. Rory had 10000 times more soul and feeling. Rory is right there with Jimi, Frank Marino, Gary Moore, SRV! Total technique and feeling too. Now THAT is rare!
@Michael Craig You have no taste in music if you think Zappa does not have feel and soul. Zappa is one of the greatest guitarist
@@gabekiser8663 Have to agree with Michael on this. Did u ever see Zappa in person? I did, 40+ yrs ago in Charlotte NC. The place was packed. But he was unfriendly, indifferent, almost cold. Kept his back to audience most of show. Band sounded good but Frank was an a**. Maybe a bad night for him, who knows. But my friends & I were not impressed.
They are actually everywhere. That's what so fascinating about talent.
U will always be the world's GREATEST bluesman/guitarist ever, Rory!! Love u n miss u very much still...see u up there one day, dearest G man!
Every Day is a Rory Gallagher Day!

@@CesarPerez-cv8yh Me too....miss him
this guy was one of and will always be one of the greats !
Great compilation showcasing Rorys versatility.
Just think that a young/adolescent white boy growing up in '60s Ireland had this affinity with the blues but also had the feelings and the skills to do this genre justice!
Rory, great musician, killer axeman when needed, but really an old school soul grabber.
Great man and artist!
I had the privilege of meeting his brother after Rorys untimely death!
One of thee greats... gone but never forgotten!

Our angel ♥
@nickpick55 The greatest guitarist of all time! Gone too soon, but still with us for eternity!
Rory is the best !!!!
♪ BigBluesMama ♪
Incendiary. Smoking version of Tore Down with nice modulation between ripping off fiery riffs and light touch and tone too. On the same pedestal as Jimi, Michael Bloomfield, Johnny Winter and Stevie Ray. Single note phrasing in Laundromat has jazzy excursions that are unlike anyone else. His search for new phrasing is fresh and relentless. Wish he and Jerry Garcia had jammed. Hope they are in eternity. Acoustic and electric. Fantastic vocals to boot. Just a dynamo of an artist.
Rory Gallagher is a god
The first record I bought along with a player in '72 was "RORY GALLAGHER". . . Hands Up. etc. ! He will stay one of the best white blues, folk & rock'n roll musicians forever. - Fuckin' burnout business !!!
Haha....marry you...I thought I was the biggest Rory fan but now it may be a toss up!!! Not a day goes by without some Gallagher! If we were married it would be Rory 24/7.....lol

Deixou sua marca de genialidade, carisma e paixão incomparáveis.
Viverá para sempre em nossos corações!
What a 🎸player Rory was 🎶👏
Wow the old savoy in Limerick he was a wizard on guitar brilliant
I read ( think in Gerry Mcavoy’s book ) that the original drummer Wilgar Campbell had anxiety attacks about flying . Maybe that’s what Rory is referring to when he says he was too ill to play? Incredible Rod Dea’th would step in like that. Minimal rehearsal for a show that being filmed for national tv!
El gran maestrazo RORY GALLAGHER.
Rory is the guitar players guitarist, from Slash, Alex Lifeson, Brian May et al. The list is endless. That alone tells you how special a musician he was, nuff said ☘
not only was he a fantastic guitar player, okay mainly known for his electric playing perhaps; but a general all round awesome musician and singer and watching a concert like this just goes to show that.. thanks for the upload :)
RORY...
Look how much finish is still on the Strat here!

So you may well be right
Un grande artista come non ce ne sono stati tanti, cio che aveva dentro lo esprimeva alla grande con le sue dita ed è sempre piacevole riascoltarlo R.I.P. Rory
He could play acoustic, just as well as electric guitar! Not many can do that.

hoooooly fuck!!!! epic
even his shoes were cool...
HOW can those people just SIT there?
R O C K
А он ничего такой был💗
His Martin guitar sounds so good. Those guitars resonate so well... for $6,000, I guess they should. Which one is that, a D-28?
D-35. I used to own one, but it got stolen. I cry whenever I think about it. I now own tne Yamaha model Bert Jansch used as his road guitar. Not quite as good, but damn near.
You can get a brand new Martin DX1 for $599, it;s not as pretty as the expensive ones but sounds great.
jesus is this guy Son House reincarnated or what?
Anyone remember the old savoy
Anyone notice he opens with a song that Stevie Ray Vaughan recorded half a dozen years later as "Scuttle Buttin'"? Was it originally a Freddie King song?
I like that drummer fine. According to Gerry’s book well....
well . . . what? Cynthia
Kashaslove Gerry just really didn’t know what made Rory tick but musically they did well....is what I meant to express. After reading Gerry’s book it was clear to me about that. Rory was a true loner is all...a popular one though!!
Cynthia Marston, did you like Gerry's book? I keep an eye out for a copy, but I'm NOT paying $100 or more for it!
Kashaslove I listed my copy yesterday on EBay auction starting at $24 because that's how I found it. On auction. I won for $29 I read it twice and since I'm good at reading between the lines it helped me understand the dynamics of Rory's personality and temperament a lot. There are some unbelievable parts but they aren't important and in my opinion some not so great observations about Rory were no doubt correct. Rory's family are very protective but as he sings himself in "I ain't no Saint" does reveal he had some issues. Like any human person. I always sell my books now because I can go online for reference material and I have a small space.
thank you so much for telling me about the auction section. keep your fingers crossed - 2 days to go!! I'm so excited!!
