So I recently got into zippos after acquiring my deceased uncles 1950 Niagara Falls zippo. I didn’t know him as well as I would have liked to as he passed when I was quite young, so this zippo means a lot to me. I wanted to find out more about them and came across your Chanel. I’ve been binge watching all of your videos. I feel like in a weird way I almost know you and it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster learning about your pup and Tman. Thank you for all of your content and information you provide for us to learn and enjoy. I now have even more appreciation for the zippo my uncle carried with the knowledge I’ve acquired due to your channel. It’s inspired me to pick up my very own first zippo as an ironic gift to myself for getting sober from smoking. Hopefully I can pass it on to my future kid one day and continue the tradition. Just wanted to ask what province you’re from? BC for me! All the best, and thanks again!

Hey i just wanted to say that i appreciate your videos! they're really informative and humourous. I love this style of hands on video blogging and and your engravings are really impressive. i never knew a passive UA-cam search on how to fill a zippo would start a UA-cam binge and a humble collection. Here in Australia, I use a product called, “Shellite”, which I find to be indistinguishable from Zippo fluid. The data sheet says that it’s also known as, “Recosol R55”, that has the following characteristics:
    Appearance: colourless liquid
    Specific Gravity: 0.67-0.755

I worked in a water lab and had access to pure ethanol. It worked fine but evaporated fast and I had to refill frequently.

I was trying to make a mix of kerosene and white gas but it never worked. I was hoping to find a ratio where it would be thin enough to be like lighter fluid but thick enough to not evaporate fast like lighter fluid. Hoped the white gas would catch from the spark and the resulting heat from the flame would warm the kerosene enough to vaporize it of at least make it flow smoother from the heat. Still like the smell of kerosene

When I was a kid in Europe in the 60's the old grandpas would always use gasoline in their lighters. As far as Cologne is concerned, I once used some to clean a Zippo insert and it worked quite well but then, I was stupid enough to turn the wheel and managed to burn my fingers. By the way, this is how I know you should never light an insert when it is not in its case!
