My quitting drinking moment coincided with a new job. I work in a factory now (I used to be among other things a shef, a soldier, a maritime security contractor) - they employed me to be a simple worker (good weapon skills are not much needed in normal life) and after 12 months they offered paying for my college and moved me to the office job. if I would still be using there is no guarantee I would keep this "simple worker" job... ta da :D
@@tomaszruszczyk6384 that's awesome and who knows, weapons skills could come in handy for the zombie apocalypse right?! Brilliant that they offered to pay for college, sounds like a supportive work place, that you are doing really well & they're rewarding you for it. Like it should be! I'm sure your sons are loving having you close-by too! 😄
@@recoverywithme zombie apocalypse hahahaha - that's a good one.. And yes, the company I work at is indeed really supportive.. big cereals factory but still a family bussiness.. I was very lucky but on the other hand the sobriety in fact made that success.. without it there would be no chance to achieve even 10% of that (started as a simple worker and since 1year later my only superior at over 600 employees workplace is a general manager)
@@recoverywithme thank you, it’s actually a bit of a struggle cause everyone at the command I’ve been stationed at likes to party and drink a lot in their free time so making friends hasn’t been the easiest. But it’s helped me become more disciplined with myself.
@@LeviSky7 Pretty sure I've ended up on some boozy binges with the army lot - by sheer accident in the past haha. I can imagine it's challenging navigating that - but like you say it's a sure sign that you've got some serious discipline. The health aspect alone is enough to keep me on the straight and narrow - the hangovers last too long to operate efficiently at anything. I may be a little biased but I think it makes you 99% more bad-ass for doing it sober 💪💪

And a reason why I work in a factory now 5 miles from my home are my two sons (2 and 4 yo) with whom I need to spend as much time as possible...

@@tomaszruszczyk6384 That is awesome it sounds like you've found your groove so-to-speak. This makes me very happy! 😃
Your phone works just fine girl. Thanks for the upload
Have you made a job/ career change since quitting drinking? 😱
Yes, I’ve been focusing a lot more on my music and have recently been paid to play on a few occasions. I also joined the US Navy.
@@LeviSky7 Sounds like you've achieved so much! That's awesome - and I love how you added 'joining the Navy' as a small side note haha thats huge! 💪💪
