It's a genre of its own, it's introducing the Meshuggah approach to the masses, it's brilliant, I can't believe we had to wait for something like this for so long.
@@GoatMee ?......You mentioned the Meshuggah approach.....and that band's the founder of djent for sure....so....am I wrong? Vola also uses djent in their music....ain't that so? Though I really prefer the fabulous Danish 'pop' approach myself...that's for sure!
@@freekwolffiO Meshuggah are not the founders of djent. Fredrik used this onomatopoetic word once to describe a specific guitar sound (palm-muted chord with heavy distortion over 4 or more strings if I am not mistaken), not an approach to composition or even less so a genre. So no, Vola are not "using djent in their music" much. The word took a life of its own when suddenly a shitload of bands started a pissing contest and began chopping up their rhythm without any feeling whatsoever like it's a spazz off or something and 50% of guitarists in those bands started thinking going past the 2nd fret simply isn't cool anymore. For some reason those bands proudly identified themselves as djent and that's what became djent. Pretty far from the initial meaning of the word. Vola are way beyond that, they are grooving hard (as are Meshuggah), the riffs are well thought out (as in Meshuggah), the drums are just mesmerizing (as in Meshuggah), and on top you have soaring melodies. I don't know ANY other band currently pulling off these combinations with such an authority and style. Especially not a band characterized as djent.
Lyrics: I've been waiting all this time Watching my shadows arrange I've been straying from the course hoping to make a change I have worked against my code Forcing my feet to align I've been straining every cord controlling my slumber spine He will never leave his burning star He will never cross the tainted element He will never leave his solitude He will never leave his solitude I've been training to depart Like statues preparing to fly I've collected every sight needed to calm my eye I've been holding back the night Now I'm holding back the day Patiently reaching for dark terrain Hoping his self-restraint disappears He will keep searching for confidence Watching the evidence in his fears But he will never leave his burning star He will never cross the tainted element He will never leave his solitude 'Cause he will never leave his thoughts of you
Man guys. I've been here since the very beginning and I'm so glad I stayed. VOLA means so much to me and I'm proud you guys have made it so far. You guys deserve so much more recognition than you get. The mix of Meshugah, Deftones and others but you guys make it your own. It's hard to find unique bands nowadays. But you guys take the cake. Cheers, keep it up. I'll always go back to this album🤘🤘🤘
I can't listen to this song without crying. All the time I've made up a rule, i just can listen to it once per week, otherwise i won't do anything. i allways brake the rule.
Man I've been listening to these guys on spotify for a while and I thought I'd check youtube for em and I'm kinda sad by how few views a lot of these videos have. It's unfair cause this is by far one of my favorite bands. In a list with bands like Gojira, Deftones, Opeth, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree. These guys are up there.
Vola are a simply amazing band! So original, melodic and heavy as f**k to boot! Amazing Inmazes! Can't wait to see them this november when they tour europe with Monuments.
I am so pleased to read these comments. I can't wait to go to a VOLA concert. People that are able to appreciate and tune into this kind of beauty must be fucking awesome. It's really hard to describe but these guys are able to touch certain strings of your soul that were never touched before. Do you know what I mean?
What a sound !!! I fly in your musical atmosphere ... Love this band ... Don't find right words to describe what i feel when i listen to your music ... Thanks guys ... Hope to see you on stage soon ... I send this message from France. I'm gonna tell about you as much as i can ...
Amazing band! So cool to see this unique style pulled off so well. I have a guitar cover of this song on my page if you wanted to see how it is played.
Wow...that ambient sound intro was amazing...and I love songs where that soft ambient background plays against that heavy distortion...but I hate how overbearing the distortion is in this mix...it overshadows the drums and the intro...
You people hear a low note and automatically think Meshuggah. This is music and Meshuggah plays the same parts for 8 minutes. Do you hear the keys, the progression and actual talent. Stop comparing bands. That's so pointless. VOLA is VOLA.
Anyone else just discovering this band? I am blown away
TheDonkeyFLOPPER i am, and damn I couldn't be more pleased.
TheDonkeyFLOPPER try headspace- your life Will change
Just now, and just in time for a new album
Well im pretty late to this party haha
@@cashvillage89 Same here lol. I’ve heard of them for years and wish I checked them out way sooner.
This band has blown my mind. So much talent. Hopefully you guys get the attention you deserve.
the melodic vocals paired with the extra heavy bass boosted guitar work is phenomenal

@@freekwolffiO not even close, my friend

Every song I hear from them on my journey or discovering VOLA blows my mind in a different way.
Lyrics:

Watching my shadows arrange
I've been straying from the course hoping to make a change
I have worked against my code
Forcing my feet to align
I've been straining every cord controlling my slumber spine
He will never leave his burning star
He will never cross the tainted element
He will never leave his solitude
He will never leave his solitude
I've been training to depart
Like statues preparing to fly
I've collected every sight needed to calm my eye
I've been holding back the night
Now I'm holding back the day
Patiently reaching for dark terrain
Hoping his self-restraint disappears
He will keep searching for confidence
Watching the evidence in his fears
But he will never leave his burning star
He will never cross the tainted element
He will never leave his solitude
'Cause he will never leave his thoughts of you
I cannot stop listening to this album. It's been like 4 months and I listen to it weekly.
I'm on a daily, at least once.
One of the best chorus I’ve ever heard.

Love this song ! great band
Damn this is epic
Ever since Inmazes was released I can't stop listening to it. Amazing work guys.
This is real music !!! So good and hits me hard like a freight train 🚂!!! Rig by in the feels !!
Still number 1 in my mind
Love at first listen. Thank you for making such beautiful music.
Something about their massive hooks and melodies gives me a Mew vibe for some reason, I love it. Plus the riffs are just nasty.
Mew is definitely an influence on our music:)

This album is inmazing!
You guys should seriously do a tour in the US. I feel like you guys could tour with between the buried and me and blow minds
They did.....recently.....with awesome new songs of the album 'Applause from a distant crowd'
Saw VOLA a couple of months back in London. Gave myself whiplash head banging to this. Fuck they're good.
Great band very, good composition. A fan here from Brazil.

Vola means fly in Latin this song and every one off the album is perfect
Industrial 80ties Djent. Fuc*ing awesome.
Volare via!
That intro riff could crush comets

Trippy lsd artwork
This song = Me
why are all the other vids from the album on priv. ?
Yeah that's exactly what I was wondering
That is because of the forthcoming re-release of Inmazes (September 16).
+VOLA we miss it :(
My name is Alex!
Jezus christ, that fucking buildup into that massive intro...
Here because the tidal one won't play!
Yeah my "like it" was 666 :D
fuck too many modulations and lydian scales, but flows very well kudos to the songwriter

I wonder if these guys like Meshuggah... \\m//
trev1978 A Djent band that doesn’t like Meshuggah won’t exist for a very long time.
I guess we’ll never knew
I don't even know what to say
Intro reminds me of "Money for Nothin'" by Dire Straits.

@Sophiet Clearly you are young and haven't had enough exposure to music and metal.
