This is great content Andy, thank you so much for the time you put into these videos and information discovery.
Thanks very much👍
Great information, waiting for more videos and real world practical technical troubleshooting scenarios on troubleshooting O365 Mailbox and related issues
So where is the projector device 1 you created? Not on the list when booking the meeting room and would like to borrow projector equipment.
Thank you for the information! Is there a way that I could enable a user that is in another tenant to view these resources? (Their tenant is cross tenant synced with mine and vise versa)
Yes. This is what I did in the multi tenant video. Check it out in my identity playlist.
Good afternoon! Quick clarification, for the booking window default of 180 days, is the 180 days a maximum amount or can it be extended beyond that? I do realize you said it could be changed, but wasn't sure what the max was. Thank you!
I'm not sure what you mean by the booking window
I've come across an issue. After i create room of equipment everyone only sees "Busy" and no details how can i fix this?
I’ll be honest I’ve not come across this. Have you tried the Microsoft tech community?
Hi Andy, thanks for your work. I tried to follow along with you but the room option isn't available in the contact field but it is in the location field below
It’s probably just been moved. Probably resources in portal
Hi Andy how are you? Thank you for such a great video!. Do you have any ideas for resource mail boxes across 2 separate tenants? IE 1 warehouse, 2 separate companies, 2 separate domains, 2 separate resource mailboxes that need to be synced? I have a two 365 tenants that work under the same roof. They have one physical boardroom that they would like to book for meetings. I can create 2 separate resource mailboxes, one for each tenant but I am not have to sync them. This means that if tenant one books the boardroom completely, tenant two will not know about it and will believe that the boardroom is still available. I read something about exchange online organization relationship but I am not sure. Thank you.
Tenant to tenant collaboration continues to progress at a fairly rapid pace. Since I did the video a number of new features have been added. The best resource I can suggest is visit learn.microsoft.com and search for multitenant collaboration or tenant to tenant synchronisation. The latest documentation is here.
I think it's also worth mentioning the scheduling assistant. It allows you to check the availability of all attendees and suggest meeting times.
Absolutely, oops I forgot to mention that. Well said👍🤗
My room will accept invites but remove the body of the calendar entry so if it includes MS Teams detail you have the room booked but can't join through the MTR. Can't find a setting for this anywhere. And the default setting appears to be the opposite of what most people would need it to be!
Unfortunately I’m not working today. I recommend that you post a question in the exchange portion of the Microsoft tech community for a faster response.
What about the room finder? Client of mine wants this function enabled to ease the reservation for lambda users. But it seems tedious to achieve and apparently requires an azure subscription. Can you expand on that?
Hmm not sure about this sorry
Hi Andy excelente video. Do you know if this option of choosing booking room work with conference room like equipment like poly studio (Polycom) etc. If you could maybe in future do a video with this equipment and teams how to incorporate e send inventations for conference.
Yes it’s integrated into Microsoft Teams 🎉
Hello, is there a way to see the calendar for that Conference room? Like if someone wants to see availability of the room ahead of time before booking or creating a meeting? Maybe like a shared calendar?
You can create a resource mailbox and assign it to a room. You'll then be able to schedule in Teams or Outlook.
@@AndyMaloneMVP but is there a way a user can look at a specific room to see availability blocks for that room for a specific day?
hi Andy thanks for the great information you are giving, i set up meeting rooms at work and although they work great, its been asked if its possible to see who booked the room on the calender. currently it just shows as being booked. the reason they would like to see who booked the room is that occasionally room allocations need to be swapped and being able to see who booked it makes it easier to contact them to discuss re-arranging etc
Sorry in my delay in getting back to you. I’ll take a look at this and report back.
Same issue, any updates? love the content as an amateur IT
For this I tried posting on the Microsoft tech community. You might get a faster update 👍
Hi Andy, where is the relation between a room and a projector for the room, it seems I^m missing someting in your video. Like someone would like to book a room with equipment (e.g. projector)
How works this. Sorry I can not see that in your video.....
A resource can be anything you want it to be. A room or a piece of equipment
Hi Andy,
first of all, thank you for this video; I had no idea about this Microsoft 365 feature, and it could be very useful. I have a specific question if you can answer.
In the case of having multiple rooms with different capacities, is it possible to set one or more constraints? For example, if I have a room with a minimum capacity of 50 and a maximum of 100, could I prevent users from booking the room if they enter a number of guests below the minimum capacity?
Thanks,
Simon
Hi Simon Hmm that's a good question. You can't seem to do it via the portal so I sugest using Powershell. check powershellgallery.com I suspect a bit of jiggery pokery here I think :-)
Nicely explained, You did not mention settings to avoid conflicts .. run into issues myself that recources were able to be booked twice
This is where the scheduling assistant is ideal in the situation
Great video and summary - Hoping you can help with what I'm trying to do...
I'm trying to create an account for a PC built into a touch panel (think Surface Hub)... generic PC, Win10... Currently each individual user will login to this PC, and that doesn't make sense...
I'd like to come as CLOSE as possible to the surface hub experience (easy/no login, auto accept bookings, etc...). Is this possible with a room account/resource account/shared mailbox somehow?
The settings for teams devices need to be managed in the Microsoft teams admin Centre, and clients
@@AndyMaloneMVP thanks - I'll look there and see what can be done...
so - that won't work - as this is really a full Windows PC (not a "Teams Device" per se... I will keep digging...
Hello sir... I have a query if you could help me with that ! When I try to create a meeting and book a room in the same way you just did . I don't find my rooms listed when I try to find them using the room finder ! The list doesn't pop up . However, when I check my rooms in the admin center.. all the rooms are available!
I would check your permissions as well as the room policy. Also are the rooms available for others, or just you? Check what others can see/do. This is how you troubleshoot.
Hi, I created rooms as a resources inadmin exchange center. Still other users couldn't see the room option while booking the room.
Check the permissions tab
Hey @andy , can you confirm the option to set on a resource mailbox to avoid conflict, what is the parameter to check in powershell command
Dude, I’m good but I’m not that good. I don’t know every single switch. learn.microsoft.com check it out there and good luck.
@@AndyMaloneMVP I found it, it is set-calendarprocessing and the switch is -allowconflicts
@@govind7394 there you go 😊 Let me google that for you 😂🤣
Hello another great video direct to the point. Can you please make a series on SecurityExchange Information Protection, Defender for office 365, and defender for endpoint
I’ve done many on information protection. Have you checked out my playlists 😊
@@AndyMaloneMVP Let me rush there 🔥🔥
There is a relatively newer feature called room finder lists where you can select by building and floor and add features. I did this for a customer recently which went down well. Only for resourcec mailboxes that are migrated to 365
Gosh yea of course. I’ve seen these internally at Microsoft. Great comment thanks 👏👍🤗
Can you please make a video on how others can view the calendar showing slots already booked by others. I work in a school so want all staff to be able to view this calendar before booking instead of waiting on a rejection notice.😊
Great idea!
@@AndyMaloneMVP thank you, wishing you every success for 2024 👍
great
Really good except that my newly created rooms show up in favourites but not in the Invite Attendees field when creating an event. :(
Great ! Does it has a specific cost?
N cost. Not available with Microsoft 365 Business Basic
Hello Andy, is it possible for a resource room mailbox to send an invite to me or any other user?
You could use power automate to fuel this
Say a room doesn't have auto-accept on. How do you assign extra delegates or remove delegates that can approve a booking request for a room - but I do not have MS365 or Exchange Admin access, that is handled by our corporate IT department. I'm an owner of a room resource but I want to be able to add people to be able to accept or reject room requests, so we can share the responsibility.
In the Exchange Admin centre, Go to the room / resource. Edit. Booking , Manage Delegate Settings. In the manage section you can either have the auto option or select users to accept / reject bookings. :-) If you don't see this option, you don't have permissions.
@@AndyMaloneMVP Unfortunately I do not have admin center permissions. That is at a much higher level in my organization. That's even outside of our local IT dept and is all the way up to corporate. I have ownership of the room resource because this is how I put in the IT request to get this room resource made. I get emails when someone requests to book a room. It even shows up on the room's calendar in my Outlook calendar section. Is there not any way to grant extra delegate access to help me manage this room, much like sharing a mailbox or a calendar to a secretary or something?
I think you would have to create a new call to IT dept to be given full acces or add another delegate. Unless you are given greater permissions you won't be able change settings
