Millerton Lake - Chasing the slow winter bass bite on the kayak

- Went out for a few hrs on the kayak to try my luck on some Winter Bass action. Slow action but managed to get on a few bites and connected on a couple. I've officially caught the BASS FISHING bug and it's starting to get really addicting. Threw a plethora of baits today; chatter baits, swim baits, top water, ned rig, but all they seem to bite on was the football head jig bait and drop shot 4.5' @daiwabass worm on a drop shot rig. People keep telling me it will pick up soon... I can't wait!

Love that Feather Lite rod, I have one.
I would have to 💯 % agree with you. I have 3 of them and they are all awesome. Looking to get a spinning setup soon!
ever try crappie fishing at Millerton from your kayak
I have not… I wouldn’t know where in the lake to even start, to target those things. Seems like the only people who catch crappie are the ones with livescope. Any pointers or areas you’ve found successful?
Where your xi3 motor? Saw you have bracket for it
Had to take it to a dealer to replace the Pinpoint GPS card. I think I got a bad one. It wouldn’t lock onto any GPS locations. Pinpoint and heading wasn’t functioning. They’re waiting for the part to arrive.
How deep are the fish?
At this particular cove I was fishing at 25-30ft I believe. Tried shallow for a bit but no luck. Worked bottom slowly at 25-30ft and got 2 with a few more nibbles.
