- Fished the Central Valley Kayak Fishing Event at Hensley Lake. Had one of my best days of fishing on the water and during a tournament. Lost some giants but still came in with my biggest tournament bag for the day.

Hey brotha love your videos and dying to see more from this past season. Anyways I was wondering what specs are your crank bait rod for deep divers on the kayak
Anytime I fish a crank that dives more than 10ft, I fish with a Powell Endurance 7'11 6CB. It's a bit stiffer than most Crankbait rods but I prefer it that way since i like to fish the crank aggressively with lots or rips and pauses.

I used this view just to try it out. I get kind of annoyed with the head mount and I was fishing offshore and mainly looking at my fish finder most of the time anyways. There would be really nothing to see.

Hensley is not a hard lake to fish. Pine flat, another story. haha. good stuff.
What do you usually throw at Hensley if u don't mind me asking?
@@oku2177 Depending on the time of year. Fish producing bait year round is drop shot or shakyhead.
@@johndoe-pb4mv Thanks bro. Pine Flat is easy when a 10-12lb bag can cash you a check there, you cant win tournament at Hensley fishing finesse. If you look at the leaderboards, there a few valley sticks that did not fill a limit vs when we fished pine flat, more than half the field came in with a limit
@@dthao92 oh yeah, 12lbs bag is norm at pineflat...but that's under the norm from where I came from that's why its I say its hard. Hard as in, sticking giants. However, that 10lbs spotted does show there are giants in that lake.
