Australia seems like a fine place to visit, even if it's too far away and too expen$ive for most folks. How about using sea coastal technologies that can provide potable water? I'm not talking about de-salinisation plants, specifically.
About Iran, eventhough the US basically handed over Iraq to Iran, but with the recent conflicts in Afghanistan, it made Iran's eastern borders unsecure by letting Taliban/Pakistan taking over Afghanistan, they took a good lesson from Iraq, and didn't let Iran to take control over Afghanistan just like Iraq. And a very important point to understand Iranian expansionism, just take a look at the Achaemenian empire's map. Since Alexander, Iranians always wanted to restore dominance over the lands between Hindu kush mountains and the Mediterranean sea.

Tim- yes Star Trek is the fictional example of human cooperation in going to space, but recall the origin myth. Humanity has not yet made (or maybe publicly admitted?) first contact with extraterrestrial species, which was the compelling event triggering unity in Star Trek.
Uhh...again, the flat terrain of Europe is the caus of wars. It's the wrong assumption. And referencing only eastward expansions by European powers to Russia, not referencing Russian invasions of western regions is also wrong.
The comments on Africa are quite interesting and presuppose that Africans will not be protagonists of their own destinies. Tied “aid” has been around forever, and will determine along with the lack of standards how the PRC is perceived. They will not be seen in a good light. But, yes, it is an economic story.
So many aspects are not taken in conseration in this video. Most important one is the financial aspect. Within now and the next twenty years the dollar will colapse, which is only logic if you see the enormous debt the US has towards other nations. The reason the US have to withdraw their troops from around the world has only one reason, they simply don't have the money to sustain it. They don't even have the money anymore to save their crumblin infrastructure or to provide their hard working people with a descent health care program. So it is already on the brink of becoming a second world nation. The moment other nations stop borrowing the US money so that Americans can buy foreign products/oil, it will be over with the US. Europe is of no importance anymore, yes on paper maybe. But we have to many differences in our tiny nations to really ever become one Europe. China has been very smart the last thirthy years, instead of bombing nations in the name of peace, like the Americans do. China has been investing trillions in other nations. Take east Africa for example or even overhere in Europe. China invested billions of Dollars/Euros in Greece at the moment that we (The other Europeans. I'm Dutch.) didn't give a damn if Greece was bankrupt. Okay, okay, the EU did borrow Greece a lot of millions, but at huge interest. And the Eu did never provide Greece with any future. China invested billions in the port of Piraeus, which enables the Greeks to make their own money again. It is a long story maybe, and I could give you hundreds of other examples. But China is the one and only number one in this new world, and not by killing others, but by bringing prosperity.
Another aspect is that in 500 years or less earth may not be so habitable b/c high seas or temp. , or few too many lab created virus/pandemics or nuclear accidents. What is prosperity in a world requiring an antinatalism attitude?
USA is The Indispensable Nation. USA beat the English empire, French, Spanish, Prussian, German, Japanese and the USSR, now China wants to fuk with US, *bring it on BITCHES!*
China has a few things going against it, demographics, water issues, lack of prosperity outside of major cities, energy, and finally corruption in the government. Demographics is the biggest one though, ageing population, and man to woman ratio out of balance.

I would make the case, that Africa will be more important in 30 years than China was. More people, more ressorces, beginning of a real african union in the east, wealth growth in the east, everyone who wants to do business speaks an european language, europeans aremost invested and present in nearl every nation. So if it doesn't change drastically, and China didn't change that so far, it will be most important for Europe and the US/Canada in doing business outside. Maybe India will catch up too by then. Additionally Africa south of Sahel are nearly all christians or becoming cristians. All of that will lead to power up Europe and Americanas. Not China and definitely not Russia. It won't be a complete takeover, but i think it is inevetible that European/American system of managing the world will emerge on the top. China will be second forever, as the Soviet Union was. Europe however will have a great chance to reemerge from the doom perspective what is talked about too much. People want to go to Europe or the US. No one wants to immigrate to China - really. So if all this continues, we don't have to ask ourselves, if China would ever overcome the West. No they won't, a like the Soviet Union never did. Now we can talk about serious changes that could be possible to change this trajectory. I can't think of one, which would favour China. My only bet it is that Africa will more ore less unite like Europe and becomes another important powerhouse. Anyone who has an idea, which could be seriously change that, be welcome.

If speaking of the Uighurs it is imperative to begin by speaking the truth about them. Not by Western propaganda as your base. Re: the instability across the Sahel, ask yourself who chose to destroy Libya, the anchor of the region and beyond, and why.
Regarding the Black Sea and Mediterranean for this to be an impediment we have to assume that the Bosphorus and Suez will always be hostile. Not to mention free access to the Pacific Ocean. I believe that classical geopolitics has it's place in understanding the modern world or the future. But you must remember that sectarian animosity in the case of Iran-Iraq didn't exist 3000 years ago. If purely territorial considerations determine success or failure in international relations than the USSR should have crushed the US. Geography, History and People can make the world change above and beyond natural obstacles. Why could the US pull off something like D-Day or the "Island hopping" campaign in the Pacific from thousands of miles distance. Do you think if it was Churchill heading the USSR in 1941, they would have crushed the Germans? Would it have taken 3 years or more? People in charge make the difference I think.
