Bob Seger is arguably the greatest songwriter to ever play rock. It's shocking to me how underappreciated he is within music circles. His voice is so unique, and immediately pulls you in, and the delivery of his lyrics have you missing things that never even happened.

One of the most under appreciated men in rock. Had MONSTER hits. Flexed the old pipes at the end. Not many people will understand how hard it is to keep that cadence for so long. Well done uncle Bob.

All of this talk about being underappreciated is absurd. Bob Seger is a legend hands-down no question about it nobody would actually challenge it. The stuff gets so old with all the underappreciated commentary these days I think these people just don’t know what they’re talking about.

Don Brewer of Grand Funk Railroad on drums. I came here doing a deep dive on Bob after being reminded of how good his songwriting was from playing GTA and hearing "Hollywood Nights" and "Night Moves" as part of the radio playlists. I had his greatest hits record when I was younger man in the early 80s and loved a lot of the old B cuts probably more than this one or his later hits such as "Like A Rock". His music was anthemic and he was cut from the same cloth that Bruce and other working class artists were in his writing and arranging songs that could just as easily be the soundtrack for a hit rock musical on Broadway. The story telling, the instrumentation, the voice, all part of a time when artists like Bob stood apart from peer bands and singers of the 70s that didn't last through the changing times. Guys like Bob, Bruce Springsteen, and John Mellencamp captured the American experience in their music better than any artist of our time. Authenticity is the word that comes to mind when thinking about what they mean to Rock And Roll and being unapologetically American. Bob Seger is certainly is in great company if not being the leader of the pack, that's a very high bar and an awesome group of peers to be considered as an equal.

Bob was ever present in my youth. Thankfully my parents were both fans. They never missed a chance to see him in Montreal. Sang Old Time Rock n Roll trying out for the hs Rock Band, however I'd practiced to Nine Tonight or Live Bullet, honestly don't recall but do know (now) that the live version I used was in a different key than the band was playing behind me. My tone deaf/ half drunk on Wild Irish Rose ass hadn't a clue. I WASN'T the singer for my hs rock band. ;) few years down the road I'd found that the bar I'd stopped at on my way home from work had Night Moves on it. I played it several times from about 4pm until last call. Unfortunately my heap Thunderbird Turbo coup was prominently parked right out front and I was stopped only a few hundred yards up the road by the local popo.. so not all my Seger memories are fond, but hey life isn't always that great either and that's why Bobs music is so GREAT. He walked me through the highs and lows. Thank you Bob Seger. I'm wishing you joy, and longevity from Vermont. ✌️💜 n old time 🤘

it does not take away from Seger’s greatness. Bruce Springsteen never had a number one hit. it goes without saying what he has done since the mid 70’s. Seger and Springsteen are two giant iconic artist from the mid 70’s on. I have seen them perform live, they are the two best live acts I have seen. a couple of night’s ago, I saw John Fogerty perform at Woodstock. he is another giant. a lot of great hits, and an outstanding live act.

@@timothyflanigan1777 The studio version of Turn The Page from the album Back in 72 is pretty weak, as is the vocal here at the RRHOF. I don't know if Bob's voice was worn out on this night or if he just lost a lot of his range but clearly Bob struggled badly with this live song. Turn The Page, the live version could have been a number one though.

So Johnny Rivers, Grassroots, Three Dog Night, Boston, Foreigner are not part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the country singer Willie Nelson is and Isaac Hays with one hit is also. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an insult to fans and rock music everywhere. Some partisan elitist shit weasels make poor biased decisions, thus proving to all fans that the "RR Hall of Fame" is a joke. The biggest farce ever created. We rock fans need a real Rock and Roll Hall of Fame based on merit, success, influence and not on being some friend of the founder or who is kissing who's ass. Such an embarassment to the stars that really should be part of a real Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is not the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sorry Cleveland you do not get that honor....It has been stripped from you by the people who love rock and roll....This fake Hall of Fame can kiss our asses.
