The vid you just watched was not from the Singer, which he did not win sadly. Since it was in China they did not allow him to win as he was from another country. He did come in 2nd however. It was from his digital show he put out during covid. With that being said welcome to the rabbit hole of Dimash. The best singer in the world. He has trained since the age of 5 i believe. Dimash acted as a composer, author of the script and performer of the main role in the 13-minute musical film The Story of One Sky- directed by Alina Veripya. He introduced her at his fan meeting when premiering the music video after his Almaty concert. He codirected Qairan Elim, his first & to my knowledge only time he has directed so far (I’m sure that will change shortly).

(But only a part without lyrics) And he studied opera. It wouldn’t be impossible to sing this only in other languages but German. Dimash isn’t only a singer. He also composes songs, he started to write lyrics for his songs, he plays several instruments, he acts in his music videos which are often more like mini movies, he also wrote the screenplay for one of it and co directed at another one. He arranges songs, he sings in 15 languages and almost every genre (partially mixed in one song) in every range with different singing techniques. He dances and is a brilliant performer. Long story short: Dimash is a true artist and you get the full package.

Dimash has done sold out concerts in New York, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Turkey, Dubai, Armenia, Latvia, Germany, Czechoslovak, etc and people come from over sixty countries to see him, me included. I’m 79 from U.K. he sings in 15 languages, lots of genres from opera to rap, plays seven instruments, directs, dances, models etc. his family have their own production company as Dimash doesn’t want to sell his soul to some big American company who will control what he sings. His principles are mire important to him. He is humble, respectful, loving, charitable, intelligent, spiritual and very much the humanitarian, Try Stranger, from New Wave. Dimash sings in English and it’s like a film score from Game of Thrones.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. This production was made after he won on the talent show. This was done during Covid. This piece of music was a cover from a french rock opera. There is English caption to this. I have that version saved in my like videos. He actually has an 8 octave range. He has hit what some have called dolphin note. He is a very versatile singer. English, listen to Stranger. He has so much out I can't keep up. He also performed the Diva Dance from a movie I never saw. It is a difficult piece to do. From what I understand to make it supposed to be sung by an alien, the producers hired an opera singer to do the number then altered the recording to make it sound like no human could sing it. He does write his own material & arrangements. He is classically trained & has his Masters degree in music. His live performances are the best as he is a true performer. He performs in, someone wrote 17 languages.

SOS is Dimashs' trademark song, even though he didn't write it. He used the song as his first appearance (of 14 weeks), on a Chinese show called 'The Singer', in early 2017. He was the 'wildcard' that was invited on the show. He got 2nd, to a popular Chinese gal that was good, but NOTHING as good as him. This performance that you just watched, is a 2021 version. He invariably uses the song in almost all of his concerts, and (like other songs), does it in a slightly different way, often. I started watching his videos on at the second week, then caught this first performance, before getting into the following weeks. He started music at 4 yrs old,,,, you can read alot of info about him. He isn't just a singer,,, he is getting his PHD and also composes. He's a PERFORMER. He calls his millions of dedicated fans, DEARS. He loves them.

Luckily Dimash has sung in so many genres, there's something for everyone. This song just showcases 10 % of what he actually can do, not only in range as well as technique. Dimash composes, directs and plays multiple instruments. He is a once in a lifetime talent. You'll see when you watch more of his songs. I suggest starting from 2017 and work your way up to now. When you think he can't get better, you will be proven wrong and he does get better every time. He does 3+ hour concerts with heavy hitting songs and vocal acrobatics. Not all of his songs are outrageous in range, but all of them have different qualities to them that should be appreciated. He is also a stroyteller, and the most important thing to him is taking listeners on a journey. He will never settle for music he doesn't like himself. ANd with his multiple degrees in music, he puts the bar very high. He is his own label and refuses to trade quality for popularity.

Great reaction! He did the Digital show during the pandemic. The 2017 I am Singer contest with all his performances is a must listen. He was barely 22 then, and every single performance was a humdinger. He didn't win, but was the runner up (likely because of nationality issues and respect for the excellent Chinese singers). The show included top Chinese performers; he was the dark horse and the baby and definitely the Darling of that contest. In 2018 he was voted the best Asian singer. But his Chinese fan base exploded over night to the hundreds of millions. He had been a big star already in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries. Later in the year, he had his first huge concert in Kazakhstan, the rest is history. His concerts are already legendary. You might also watch his 2019 concert in NY, Barclay Centre. He is indisputably the best vocalist of this generation, possibly ever, besides using the the stage to advocate for peace and unity. His Dears travel from all corners of the globe to his concerts. He is highly trained in classical, pop, jazz and contemporary music and likes to mix it with Kazakh folk music. Dimash canta DE TODO, aunque su formación académica es como cantante de ópera, rl hace lo que llama crossover. Los géneros son mezclados en una misma composición según lo entienda, no es posible clasificarlo en un género como rs casi imposible encasillarlo vomo tenor o contra tenor o barítono etc. Dus presentaciones don siempre un espectáculo grandioso. En 2019 fio un concierto en los EU!, pero los da regularmente por todo el mundo. El próximo es en mayo, en Budapest, Hungría 💖💖🇨🇺
Just fyi the performance you just watched had subtitles :). STRANGER - New Wave version is both in English, also has subtitles, & I think you guys will love it. I do recommend you may have to blur or something the image, it sometimes has more copyright issues but totally worth it. Production is EPIC, this is in front of a live audience, when he premiered the new song. Also I do recommend always putting the video back just a few seconds every time you pause- his transitions are so important & the flow especially because of his already extremes, you’ll enjoy the music better if you just ease back in with a few seconds backtrack whenever you’re done pausing as you react.

That percussionist is an absolute magician. His name is Ilya. Firstly he's such a showman at concerts and him and Dimash always have what Dimash calls 'drum battles'. It seems insignificant, but remove that triangle or other subtleties and the song is no longer the same. The bands on his wrists are for microphones

The performance you watched was part of his Digital Show concert he put on during lockdown. That was his & his team’s production, in 2021. The Singer competition in China is really exceptional in production & quality compared to US competition shows, but it was not like this, & that was when he was younger, in 2017. You guys haven’t seen anything yet 😂 and I’m not sure if I’d call that a whistle from him, on anyone else it would be but he goes much higher where it sounds like a whistle, tea kettle, dolphin… he’s so much more than his extreme notes though.

No special effects, he didn’t have his own orchestra yet, nobody with big biceps hitting the triangle, just his raw talent on a raw mic and it is indeed the purest version that he’s done. Every note is placed impeccably, phrasing that is perfect for the meaning and mood of this song, right up to the very last note. His vocal control in there is spot-on, there’s no kind of flippancy that you might hear in this version and I think that the 2017 version would be a real eye-opener. I’ve always thought it’s one for the history books. This is really not the best version to listen to, you’ve picked up that despite all the talent, this performance has something missing and too much production. But guys - You ain’t heard NOTHIN’ yet.!!!

He did sing the same song but this is the better version. Dimash has been classically trained since he was 5 years old. That’s when he started music school for piano and voice. The vid you just watched was not from the Singer, which he did not win sadly. Since it was in China they did not allow him to win as he was from another country. He did come in 2nd however. It was from his digital show he put out during covid. With that being said welcome to the rabbit hole of Dimash. The best singer in the world. He has trained since the age of 5 i believe. Dimash acted as a composer, author of the script and performer of the main role in the 13-minute musical film The Story of One Sky- directed by Alina Veripya. He introduced her at his fan meeting when premiering the music video after his Almaty concert. Dimash isn’t only a singer. He also composes songs, he started to write lyrics for his songs, he plays several instruments, he acts in his music videos which are often more like mini movies, he also wrote the screenplay for one of it and co directed at another one. He arranges songs, he sings in 15 languages and almost every genre (partially mixed in one song) in every range with different singing techniques. He dances and is a brilliant performer. Long story short: Dimash is a true artist and you get the full package.
The wings are post-production. Dimash is the best singer in the world. A once in a 1000 year talent. We are lucky to be able to watch him perform. It's a blessing.

Dimash has done sold out concerts in New York, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Turkey, Dubai, Armenia, Latvia, Germany, Czechoslovak, etc and people come from over sixty countries to see him, me included. I’m 79 from U.K. he sings in 15 languages, lots of genres from opera to rap, plays seven instruments, directs, dances, models etc. his family have their own production company as Dimash doesn’t want to sell his soul to some big American company who will control what he sings. His principles are mire important to him. He is humble, respectful, loving, charitable, intelligent, spiritual and very much the humanitarian, Try Stranger, from New Wave. Dimash sings in English and it’s like a film score from Game of Thrones.
He also doesn't want to "sell his soul" to Kazakhstan company, or Russian, or Chinese.
He wants to be independent.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. This production was made after he won on the talent show. This was done during Covid. This piece of music was a cover from a french rock opera. There is English caption to this. I have that version saved in my like videos. He actually has an 8 octave range. He has hit what some have called dolphin note. He is a very versatile singer. English, listen to Stranger. He has so much out I can't keep up. He also performed the Diva Dance from a movie I never saw. It is a difficult piece to do. From what I understand to make it supposed to be sung by an alien, the producers hired an opera singer to do the number then altered the recording to make it sound like no human could sing it. He does write his own material & arrangements. He is classically trained & has his Masters degree in music. His live performances are the best as he is a true performer. He performs in, someone wrote 17 languages.

SOS is Dimashs' trademark song, even though he didn't write it. He used the song as his first appearance (of 14 weeks), on a Chinese show called 'The Singer', in early 2017. He was the 'wildcard' that was invited on the show. He got 2nd, to a popular Chinese gal that was good, but NOTHING as good as him. This performance that you just watched, is a 2021 version. He invariably uses the song in almost all of his concerts, and (like other songs), does it in a slightly different way, often. I started watching his videos on at the second week, then caught this first performance, before getting into the following weeks. He started music at 4 yrs old,,,, you can read alot of info about him. He isn't just a singer,,, he is getting his PHD and also composes. He's a PERFORMER. He calls his millions of dedicated fans, DEARS. He loves them.

Luckily Dimash has sung in so many genres, there's something for everyone. This song just showcases 10 % of what he actually can do, not only in range as well as technique. Dimash composes, directs and plays multiple instruments. He is a once in a lifetime talent. You'll see when you watch more of his songs. I suggest starting from 2017 and work your way up to now. When you think he can't get better, you will be proven wrong and he does get better every time. He does 3+ hour concerts with heavy hitting songs and vocal acrobatics. Not all of his songs are outrageous in range, but all of them have different qualities to them that should be appreciated.
He is also a stroyteller, and the most important thing to him is taking listeners on a journey. He will never settle for music he doesn't like himself. ANd with his multiple degrees in music, he puts the bar very high. He is his own label and refuses to trade quality for popularity.

Great reaction! He did the Digital show during the pandemic. The 2017 I am Singer contest with all his performances is a must listen. He was barely 22 then, and every single performance was a humdinger. He didn't win, but was the runner up (likely because of nationality issues and respect for the excellent Chinese singers). The show included top Chinese performers; he was the dark horse and the baby and definitely the Darling of that contest. In 2018 he was voted the best Asian singer. But his Chinese fan base exploded over night to the hundreds of millions. He had been a big star already in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries. Later in the year, he had his first huge concert in Kazakhstan, the rest is history. His concerts are already legendary. You might also watch his 2019 concert in NY, Barclay Centre. He is indisputably the best vocalist of this generation, possibly ever, besides using the the stage to advocate for peace and unity. His Dears travel from all corners of the globe to his concerts. He is highly trained in classical, pop, jazz and contemporary music and likes to mix it with Kazakh folk music. The Story of one Sky, both film and live performance, was written/directed by him - worth watching. He never fails to amaze. His latest concert was in Hong Kong in December 2023, and includes two new songs - When I've got You and Smoke, which feature a new side of him. His meteoric rise happened outside the music industry (mostly on UA-cam) because he wants to preserve his artistic integrity.

Welcome to the world of Dimash. Please don't be discouraged, he sings in English on most of the songs he performs. Plus, the type/genre of songs varies from rock to opera to rap. He does it all. His version of Lionel Richie's "Hello" that he performed on I Am The Singer in 2018 is out of this world!!! Dimash doesn't just sing the song...he adds a whole section of himself showing out and showing all he can do. Vocally he is a genius. He arranges all his music to show his flare. There is no one like him. Just a gift to us humans.

This song was written by 2 musiciand from Quebec, Canada (i live there) for a rock opera called Starmania (circa 1979). And yes, I was in my early 20's when it came out here. It was amazing!

Dimash canta DE TODO, aunque su formación académica es como cantante de ópera, rl hace lo que llama crossover. Los géneros son mezclados en una misma composición según lo entienda, no es posible clasificarlo en un género como rs casi imposible encasillarlo vomo tenor o contra tenor o barítono etc. Dus presentaciones don siempre un espectáculo grandioso. En 2019 fio un concierto en los EU!, pero los da regularmente por todo el mundo. El próximo es en mayo, en Budapest, Hungría 💖💖🇨🇺
Just fyi the performance you just watched had subtitles :). STRANGER - New Wave version is both in English, also has subtitles, & I think you guys will love it. I do recommend you may have to blur or something the image, it sometimes has more copyright issues but totally worth it. Production is EPIC, this is in front of a live audience, when he premiered the new song. Also I do recommend always putting the video back just a few seconds every time you pause- his transitions are so important & the flow especially because of his already extremes, you’ll enjoy the music better if you just ease back in with a few seconds backtrack whenever you’re done pausing as you react.

Thanks for reacting to Dimash's SOS from his Digital Show (during the pandemic.) This was four years after his performance on The Singer, and was produced in Ukraine with Dimash's own team. Ilya Pokrovskiy has a solo career as an amazing percussionist! You guys are fun to watch and I hope you continue to react to Dimash; he's the greatest vocal artist of our time. I couldn't catch who you said should sing SOS, but now I sorta feel sorry for him!

That percussionist is an absolute magician. His name is Ilya. Firstly he's such a showman at concerts and him and Dimash always have what Dimash calls 'drum battles'. It seems insignificant, but remove that triangle or other subtleties and the song is no longer the same. The bands on his wrists are for microphones

The performance you watched was part of his Digital Show concert he put on during lockdown. That was his & his team’s production, in 2021. The Singer competition in China is really exceptional in production & quality compared to US competition shows, but it was not like this, & that was when he was younger, in 2017. You guys haven’t seen anything yet 😂 and I’m not sure if I’d call that a whistle from him, on anyone else it would be but he goes much higher where it sounds like a whistle, tea kettle, dolphin… he’s so much more than his extreme notes though.

Watch his rendition in The Singer 2017. It is Dimash’s, purest rendition of SOS. No special effects, he didn’t have his own orchestra yet, nobody with big biceps hitting the triangle, just his raw talent on a raw mic and it is indeed the purest version that he’s done. Every note is placed impeccably, phrasing that is perfect for the meaning and mood of this song, right up to the very last note. His vocal control in there is spot-on, there’s no kind of flippancy that you might hear in this version and I think that the 2017 version would be a real eye-opener. I’ve always thought it’s one for the history books.
This is really not the best version to listen to, you’ve picked up that despite all the talent, this performance has something missing and too much production. But guys -

SOS is Dimash masterpiece!! It is an existentialist song, about ups and downs in life, depression and death, when you feel you don’t belong here. The lights in the back denoting all emotional stages, the wings and final moments before departing to heaven.
Dimash is a world class artist from Kazakhstan, turned 29 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4.

Ogre, you pronounced it right and better than most people do! This was not the contest., that took place in 2017 and this was 2021. This was a digital concert he gave for his fans during COVID. He did sing the same song but this is the better version. Dimash has been classically trained since he was 5 years old. That’s when he started music school for piano and voice. Dimash has several videos on UA-cam. Check out his channels, Dimash Kudaibergen and DimashAli. You’ll be surprised what wonderful music you will find in English and several other languages. This was not the singing contest, but a digital show he did in 2021 due to covid19. Attendance was done digitally. The singing competition was in China in 2017.
You can see at least 10 more versions of this beautiful by Dimash on UA-cam. There are videos on his official channel and other versions in the middle of his concerts since he always sings it in them. All of them live, all with small differences, all of them magnificent and incomparable. This song: "S.O.S. d'un terrien en détresse" is from the 1976 French-Canadian rock opera Starmania. Like the rest of the Satarmania music, the song was written almost 20 years before Dimash was born, but definitely this immeasurable Kazakh artist made it his own forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed it they had no idea who was going to be its definitive owner because no one can take it away from Dimash Qudaibergen.
The world has never had a vocalist of Dimash's level, and it is doubtful that it will ever happen again. It has a 7-octave range and has a unique sound technique. He sings different genres.
