- A walkthrough of a somewhat unknown game for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (at least I didn't find too many videos of it). It often gets bashed in reviews, but to me it is one of the better SMD games. At the very least some certain developers could learn much from Warlock. I like the creepy atmosphere of some places in this game and I especially like the castle. The music is good too: my favorite tracks are miniboss theme (usually plays when you fight living armors in castle), cemetery theme and the demon battle/final boss theme.
The game is based (loosely) on the movie "Warlock 2" and if you've never seen any of Warlock movies, I recommend to watch them (at least 1&2 and especially the first one) if you're a horror fan.
The whole playthrough may be quite long, but that's the best I could do, considering I never died and had to restart the whole level because of it. Also there is a perfect fight with the final boss at the end (I don't know how I managed to do it after an hour of trying to survive).
That's all I wanted to say. I hope, you will like this video. I, myself, enjoyed making it, since it is one of my favorite games. - Ігри

I have been trying to remember this game from my childhood for so long. It scared me to death when I was 3 or 4, playing it for the first time.
Wow! This is decidedly more violent than its SNES counterpart. As a horror fan, I'm going to have to add this cart to my collection.

I've never played the Genesis version, but I've mastered the SNES version, I can say this version is a HELL of a lot more Horror themed than the SNES one. And this is another one of those games that when on older consoles the levels changed.

Одна из первых игр в моей жизни. И кстати тут полно тайников с ништяками - особенно в замке колдуна.
Еще факт - если не помирать все прохождение и не юзать череп и электросферу(уничтожение врагов в радиусе экрана) то Чернокнижнику в финале можно 2/3 ХП сразу снести.

i came here just when i saw this game cartridge few mins back when i was tiding my room, i found it inside the top abandoned cupboard. it was hell of scary back then, i didn't even finish the first level.
39 years later and I find out today they made a game of this. If I would've known I would've tracked it down hahahababa. I bought every movie themed game I could find when I was a kid cause I was and still am a movie geek

Grest run of a very good and very underappreciated game!A piece of advice,you should use the orb a lot more often.There's also this orb zig zag motion that I didn't see you use at all,it's very effective,especially against bats.
What's the point to use the orbit? I mean, whether the projectile lightening work insufficiently? What's the advantage? Please explain, man
@@jackhammer5683 The orb, at least for me, is a very effective way to hit targets that are far away, or above you, without you being directly in danger.
@@edgarector but it takes longer time to activate the orb :) which is an disadvantage. So... I don't know man what's better. I am sure it's okay for certain situations. I saw this game about 25 years ago in the game magazine (descriptions, screenshots, tips and cheats)… but I haven't ever had a chance to play in it before. I am from Russia. Hadn't seen this cartridge in stock back then. Today I am playing in it online, fulfilling my childhood's dream 😁😁😁

I have it for Sega Megadrive and Snes. Sega version is way better. Faster and smoother.
But, yeah, the orb is something I didn't properly use until my second, or third run. But it's very useful, and a nice gameplay mechanic, imo.

I came here because i wanted to record the music from this game. But there were some difficulities: some music was followed with annoying noice of squeaking. I wondered, do other people have this problem too? Now I see, that I'm not the only one who faced this problem. 07:32

Never learned how to use items when I was a kid and got permastuck at the mausoleum in the world of the dead where you need to use a staff to drop the platform in the traproom. Had to use a password from the cheatbook to get past that.

Now I m not an expert on his work but doesn't this roofed bridge (that I see a few times in this game) appear in the works of Stephen King? Or was it in Lovecraft inspired works like ''In the Mouth of Madness'' ?

I remember being 9 and asking for a horror game in the game shop... they gave me this. I'll never forget that day. Years later as and adult saw the movies, the first 2 are okay, the third one sucks.
Splatterhouse 2 was a terrific thing as well... I am still scared

This should be called Warlock II. In the first one only Julian Sands had magical powers. In the second one 2 teenage witches take on Julian Sands.

someone pls explain the items , whats the potion do anyway ?
+kokojepry Potions heal a little bit hp.skulls damage all enemies on screen.green triangles creates a barrier tha damage enemies.faces heal all hp but can be used as extra lives too and there is another item but I don't remember what it does.
The Pentagram and the Sundial if the pentagram was on the Genesis version. Pentagram destroys all enemies, even enemies the Skulls can't kill. The Sundial will toss you back in time to where it was picked up and reset the level, allowing you to pick up more items.
Anyone know how to use them on Genesis? I can’t figure it out.

I never played this game back in the day, but my friend mentioned it as being "the worst game of all time". As I watch you play this, it actually looks kinda fun to me. Granted, I didnt really stick around past 10 min, but if this is "the worst game of all time" he ever played, clearly he didn't play some of the crap I did as a kid.
Also, I dunno how difficult the gameplay is, but you look pretty pro during the process of the walkthrough, so clearly the controls couldnt be *that* bad either.

I had this game, but never figured out how to get through the first level - apparently I missed some critical part of controls.
UPD: Or probably my version was busted. That elevator never moved and blue cristal was not interactable.

Soooo many good games RUINED by bad controls or lack of a tutorial on how to use them. Maybe the manual helped a bit, but most people I knew didn't have a god forsaken manual LOOOL
the colors of the genesis version seem so much richer then the snes one. snes one feels like a shoddy port.

Genesis version may have more sound effects but they sound like shit and graphics don’t compare to the SNES version of Warlock
This game was voted "worst game ever" and bashed by reviewers!!?? How??? This game looks really beautiful. Just watching the 1st two minutes and I'm sold, it sucks that I never got a chance to play this. Among the horror themed games that came out for Genesis, I rank this along with Castlevania Bloodlines and Splatterhouse 2 & 3.
As much as I like a lot of the Genesis games, I always had to play them muted because Sega's sound is just ear rape
You've obviously never played nintendo, and no, that's not the emulator, it sounds like that on the normal system
The sound of this game is bad emulated in the video. Just listen the cymbal sound of the game that sounds like a beep here... These sounds glitches/noises are normal in old emulators with games that use the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Gems Sound Drive
@M. A. Packer No you're wrong. This is most definitely being played on an emulator, which is butchering the sound and adding that annoying beep which isn't present on genuine hardware. Emulators suck.

Wow, this version OBVIOUSLY gives you more items and is easier to control...oh well, I still love my SNES version! Music and sound effects are WAY BETTER anyway!
This is being played on an emulator which is butchering the sound and adding that annoying beep. The SNES version is inferior. It shows much less on screen and it stretches and distorts the graphics horizontally, as usual.
