How amazing is all of that. I will probably never do it but I was so fascinated I sat there and watched the whole video. Very interesting and I will leave it to you younger folks. At 82 I don't drink any soda of any kind. Blessings and hugs from New Mexico

This is amazing!! So many fantastic techniques! A quick tip that I learned while doing another project with soda cans, to achieve a flat sheet you can run the piece through your sizzix without any dies. If your plates are used it also creates some unique and fun texture on the tin. Thank you for sharing! I love these!😍

I’m so glad you like it too. I got to get my channel up and going. You can also put some alcohol ink on the can before you add the photo. I don’t think I have this photo kit of yours. I’m gonna go look and see those kids are so cute. Love you girl. Thank you for sharing!

Yes, love it. I like to emboss cans. You answered a few questions I had though about using punches etc. I had not thought of using a can opener I only used a craft knife to cut the aluminum. I love having the ring from the top for other embellishments.❤😊 thank-you!

These flat aluminum pieces come out great embossed or die-cut through the Big Shot machine. I don't bother removing the paint, but glue that print side to scrap card with E-6000. Made some ink stained, die cut butterflies glued to a contrasting color - so lovely! Thanks for all the tin type ideas, Tracie!

This is brilliant! Love the photos and labels you used. Thank you for sharing Jamie's make! The die that didn't cut through but embossed looks Amazing! ❤❤

Tracie I saw a demonstration where the person ran the can thru her big shot die machine , it came out really flat. This is so cool.

I've actually done this before, but lots of new ideas of what to do with the cans. I run a fishing tournament every year, and this year, I walked around to talk to all the guys and if I saw an interesting can, I asked for it, so have a dozen or so to play with. 🥴
I like the idea of removing the color from the cans, although again, I gathered interesting cans for the colors and pictures on them, but can always get a few soda cans from my brother. Oh and using a can opener, yep, gotta give that I try, I just poked a hole near the top and cut with scissors, but I like the extra pieces that were left. 🤔
Another thing I did, was taped two pieces of can together with carpet tape, and put them through an embossing folder, that turned out nice. I do like the "aged" look with the alcohol ink, so saving your video to my "to try soon" list, lol. 😁
It's a close call as to what I liked best, but I think the photos on the tins is what I"ll try first.
Thanks so much, was an awesome tutorial!!! 💜💜💜

So happy you’re still giving this a go.. in different ways!! Yes! So many ways .. it’s awesome to experiment in different ways and yes, everything may HAVE been done before… but everything is in a different way and takes!! I have a new idea already… whether it’s been done or not. I will experiment and share if it turns out .!! 😂 great job on everything you do and don’t forget you can back your previous tags and numbers with the tin can leaving an edge of metal or use the tape as well… have that in my playlist with you tags etc.
Your amazing!! Big hugs to you! ❤

I was impressed with the clear sticker paper and how the images stuck to the aluminium (not tin). I think I'll try the aluminium tape and back it with the tape or aluminium foil to get that faux aluminium finish on the back too. Thks for the new ideas as always!

Fabulous experiments. Just last week I used my aluminum tape to die cut things out and then colored them with alcohol inks and they look so cool. I love your experiment too using the tin cans and all the other objects. They came out awesome! I’m not sure but your can opener looks like one I have that actually cuts open the cans so the can has a smoother edge and not sharp like the older styles of openers….love mine for that reason. Thanks for sharing this cool technique. I have your digital of these joyful kids and they are just adorable. I just printed them a few days ago in fact. Happy crafting 😊.

I use a lot of aluminum(or aluminium😉) cans for crafts.
Yes... I have cut & poked my hands & fingers multiple times. But nothing bad... no stitches required.😁 Just clean your nicks to avoid infection.
I generally do as @nitacraftbreak9145 does.💗 Alcohol inks work great. I do seal my rusty "grunge fx" with matte medium or spray sealer, if they're on a cover or somewhere prone to more wear.
I've found 'Art Glitter Glue' works fine when gluing to cardstock. I've never glued "metal to metal" tho.
Running the sheet of tin through a die press helps to flatten, also. I do "inside" down. But I usually do the "edge of the table" thing. It's faster. Lol!
Embossing folders & 'quality' dies work great. The higher quality dies usually even work through layered sandwich of "tin, double sided tape, & light/65lb cardstock... if the design is not too intricate.
I do struggle getting clean die cuts sometimes, anyway. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.😳 So others may have better luck w/layers.
But even cheaper dies will cut through just the tin quite well.
The aluminum is really fun to create with, imo. Can easily get some very cool, grungey, vintagey effects.
The best part, & my favorite, is that we're upcycling trash!! One of my most satisfying things to do.💚😁💚
