What oil do you typically use?
Vegetable Oil.
I only use Peanut Oil! It does not have the bad health effects the oils you mentioned has. I am shocked at this video!
Sorry......the best catfish I have ever eaten was fried in home rendered lard. I had NO idea what they had fried fish, fries, and hushpuppies in until I ask. I was SHOCKED to say the least. But it was AWESOME!
Lard, ghee, and peanut oil for deep frying. For pan searing bacon grease or olive oil. If you can get it/afford it potatoes fried in beef or duck fat is amazing.
10W-40 Full Synthetic is the best!
Do you use a pan?
Definitely Valvoline!!!
@@jcehlert Just an oil pan!!!
Butter and oil. That's what my dad used😋😋😋
Almost all oils are over processed, and as such, minimally processed oils are only available with certain oils, virgin olive oils, and avocado oil. I do believe that this is a problem. It is hard to source good healthy solutions. Avocado oil is neutral in flavor and can be used like vegetable oil.
I use peanut oil
You have picked possibly some of the worst fats health-wise to recommend! Personally, I prefer Tallow or possibly Lard
You are very wise!! Thank you for your knowledge!! These oils cause inflammation and many health problems!! ❤
I stopped using any seed oils
Good for you!! Me too!!
WOW, however these oils, canola & vegetable oil is very bad for your internal organs.
Worked many years in top seafood restaurants and nothing is better than peanut oil.
It's good to see that most people that know Canola (Rapeseed) and other seed oils are bad and there are much much better options. Unfortunately Mashed is still using 20 year old health advice.
Bacon grease hands down
NO SEED OILS EVER!!!!!!!!!
My three oils: coconut, walnut, peanut.
Rice bran oil, peanut, coconut.
Butter is better... Saute Chef:
If I had a steam engine, I would use
rapeseed oil to lube it. I CERTAINLY
would NOT be cooking in it!
Just what is vegetable oil? Wouldn't
rapeseed oil be vegetable oil?
steve
There's a vid on YT about how Canola Oil is made ... watch that once, and you'll never buy it again.
2 parts peanut oil with one part avocado oil is what I use to fry everything. Does not impart any other flavor into the batter or food. Far superior to canola oil.
Rotella 10w40, it gives all the vitamins and minerals!
Too much omega 6 for me in vegetable oils . Lard and tallow is much healthier..
Agree ... avoid the Omega sixes.
Yes, they give me inflammation and joint pain!! ❤
The best oils to use is grape seed & EVOO
FWIW, sed is a unix utility. (and a very good one at that)
🎉 some oils are not good
Exactly. Like the ones mentioned in this vid.
Popeye's uses peanut oil. It is right on the window at the dtive through
Well, you may be right about the flavor of the fish, but you obviously don't give a thought to HEALTH! Seed oils are very inflammatory and cause joint pain and other health problems, even with the heart! Use natural fats like tallow, lard, or butter. We need to consider our health!! 😮😮
What about pan frying ?
Ghee (clarified butter), olive oil, bacon fat.
I use olive oil for everything but we don’t use so much oil for deep frying. I shallow fry fish, no deep frying for me.
I use corn oil for everything accept pure olive oil.
/except/
One Thanksgiving we deep fried a turkey and it tasted awful just horrible. I looked at the oil and it was mainly soy bean oil. OMG. I will never use that nasty oil ever again. My ruined turkey taught me a huge lesson. Watch closely at what you use.
