    Hello,
I am contacting you on behalf of Jessica Easterly, her family, and the thousands of people who are anxiously awaiting justice for her murder.
Jessica was murdered in 2019 and to this day, the New Orleans Police Department, and DA Jason Williams have actively ignored requests to seek the truth. I believe it is not only your civic duty to look into and re-examine the circumstances of her murder, but it is your job. You have failed Jessica and you have failed New Orleans.
I am asking that you please request the services of the Louisiana State Police Department moving forward, so that justice can be served promptly. I am also requesting that you respectfully and honestly engage with Jessica’s family moving forward, rather than continue to ignore them.
Please consider that you are paid and appointed to protect and serve your community, and as it stands, you have not done so.

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like this documentary suffers from some really unfortunate editing. The video itself is hard to follow and jumps around quite a bit, so much so it takes away from emotional and impactful moments. I definitely understand trying something new and experimenting with ways to lift up the voices of true crime to your followers, this just seemed to really miss the mark. I hope all the constructive feedback you're receiving so far helps with future true crime documentaries. 💞

This documentary had very good potential the bouncing around not finishing sentences is very hard to try and follow. I appreciate her trying to help the families but it’s just not there with this one. The Christan doc she did I loved and still rewatch. And this one I’m going on day 3 of just trying to finish it but can’t follow along easily and I just exit out.

@@geedee2682 Jessica deserves better than this half baked project. I got 45 minutes in and knew nothing about HER, but I did see approximately 1,000,000 shots of Kendall. At 40:30 seconds for example, Jessica’s family member was cut out of frame completely while speaking so the focus could be on Kendal’s frame.
If I was Jessica, I’d haunt her from the grave.
Between the self serving delivery, poor editing, and bad sound quality… they shouldn’t call this a documentary. As a long time supporter, I’m disappointed and our concerns should be heard.

There is not really part 1 to this documentary, Kendall and Co. just missed the mark on this one.
I don't know why they didn't give anymore details about who Jessica was.
Any documentary that it's meant to stand on it's own should give background info as to who the victim was.
They advertised the documentary as something and didn't deliver. As you can see the majority of comments are telling her that they are confused and that it was hard to follow along. You are not alone with your thoughts on that one.
It's a shame because the focus now is on the poor execution of this video instead of people wanting to help Jessica and her family.
I think that they worked hard on this and they are saying that they'll apply what they learned on future projects, however by one of Kendall's reply it feels like she is also trying to say that this documentary wasn't a retale of Jessica's life and last moments, however any documentary should and do give a summarize background so poeple can follow along.
The way that the documentary was advertise leading up to it's release would've had you believed that the documentary was going to give you all the info on who Jessica was.
What's done is done, and at the end of the day I truly hope that Jessica and her family get the justice that they deserve.

So proud of you all for this documentary! You can tell a lot of worked was put into it. Just some feedback. I would have started with the sister and story of finding Jessica’s body as the beginning.. then rewind to Jessica and who she was from young to when she met Justin and her career. Then go back to initial 911 and the events that happened prior to finding her body and then what happened after finding her body. Interviews with siblings, friends etc can be inserted where seems necessary to make it all flow better. The sound wasn’t cohesive throughout sometimes was loud other times quiet. But I’m just giving ideas on what would have made it easier to watch for me! I’m just one person though lol I watched the whole documentary though and so proud of your media company for this documentary! Kendall I really commend you for doing this, I can't imagine how much work it was. Overall well done on shining a light on a case that has been so appallingly dealt with. I would echo what others have said regarding the editing and style in that it was quite hard to follow - kind of jumped around without a clear narrative. I think I have seen your initial video on Jessica, but honestly cannot remember (will go back and watch it now) and I feel like this jumped right into the aftermath of the case without really explaining who Jessica is and what happened. Would have been great to start with the backstory like you usually do in your true crime videos. I think the music and text could be a bid scaled back as well, and a bit more of an intro to each person you are interviewing would be great (for example, I was so confused about the restaurant manager for a while and what she had to do with anything). Really don't want to be negative, as I hope you guys keep making documentaries in the future, there are so many unsolved cases and stories that need to be told. Just hoping this will be a bit of constructive feedback for future documentaries.

Thank you so much for your kindness and constructive feedback, its very valuable to us. This project was extremely difficult and was totally out of our comfort zone but we learned a lot. We’re a small team and tried something totally challenging for us, but this feedback is helpful and we will apply this to our next project. The case was very difficult to explain because of the lack of investigation there are so many confusing elements. Jessica was so ostracized from her friends and family before her murder. That left a lot of them confused as well. Also, many people that we were supposed to interview backed out because they were fearful or unavailable. We did our best to make it make sense but there are many things we would have done differently looking back. We did the best we could with what was available to us without making things worse or putting people in danger. There’s a lot I wish I could explain, but I can’t. The mission was awareness and I hope we at least brought this case, the trauma this family suffered, and the corruption of this city’s officials to light. Thank you for your feedback, its very useful.

A lot have been left quite constructively and hopefully these will help with future endeavours. You can see the heart and passion behind making this, and the urge to get Jessica’s story on the front line - which is the most important thing. The issue with this is mainly in editing (I feel) and the jumping around between the places you went (particularly back to where her body was found) - it just felt repetitive with some clips and left me wondering why we were covering that now again - but the intention and the coverage had heart to it and I hope you will continue to do things like this in the future and be a bigger voice for those who need it ❤

I was soooo excited for this because I LOVED Apartment 801, their last doc.
But unfortunately I have to agree with others- this was impossible to watch. I had no idea about Jessica’s case and after 45 minutes of watching this…I still don’t know anything.
I love Kendall and Josh, I’ve been watching Kendall since she was a plus size beauty/lifestyle channel and saw her amazing transition into true crime. I also love Josh’s Lights Out podcast!
I think Kendall has always had this tactful way of keeping victims at the center of their own story and making sure to not sensationalize what happened to them, something that feels like it’s really lacking in the true crime community.
But this doc just wasn’t it. I was so confused from start to finish and the narrative of the corrupt police was lost in translation from all the cuts, choppiness, etc.
But it’s clear her heart was in this doc ❤

I am honestly confused by the lack of critical comments on this video... maybe mine will be deleted.
I am so disappointed in the production of this doc, especially with all the prior hype. I expected such better storytelling and more crucial information. I always appreciate the involvement of victims families and raising awareness about open cases, but this documentary is just not doing Jessica Easterly or her family any favors. It is so unbelievably disjointed and confusing. I'm very caught off guard by the quality of this production compared to other KR and MHM content. Apt. 301 was amazing. So simple and straightforward. I feel like I know next to nothing about Jessica Easterly's case and the possible corruption around it after watching this (and I've even watched Kendall's previous coverage of it twice).
I don't know what else to say but that I wish this production could have done better by her case.
P.S. "I feel rejuvenated" is so tone def and sickening. I have to be honest. I expect so much better out of MHM and Kendall 😓

A lot of the commentary was repeated several times over, there wasn’t too much new information which I understand may not be readily available but it’s disappointing given the hype, the sound quality was very poor (I kept needing to turn the volume up or down depending who was talking and what scene was showing, which changed very very frequently) and there was a lot of over dramatisation which made it seem very “entertainment” fuelled rather than informative (such as when they were knocking on his door with the intense music playing over it, all for a no comment and an awkward interaction).

It’s very hard to follow and jumps around a lot. There isn’t a followable story and direction. This isn’t watchable for someone who doesn’t know Jessica’s case, which takes away from so many people being able to have awareness. It could’ve been a blend of this approach/style to this docu, and the background video you already did. It needed to be way more succinct as a telling of Jessica’s case and story plus everything else from this doc because it’s all important as one thorough documentary. Or there should be a referral to The original video on Jessica, but there isn’t so it’s confusing. It’s hard to follow this way and I’m so sad and disappointed because I was sooo excited for this 😢

It keeps commenting on how hard it is for the family and then wants to make a really strong point about the NOPD but it all gets lost together. IMO they should've done an introduction to the case (what happened step by step), then the family's reactions to her missing and the whole issues with her body, then the problems with the NOPD. It feels unearned to try and make big statements about anything until we understand what even happened in the first place. The impact of how the poor family found the body and then had to deal with the whole lack of autopsy and release of the body is completely lost in my confusion as to what they're both trying to say, and what actually happened.

@@KendallRaelong time follower here, the first video on Jessica you did was great! (Not to say this doc isn't) I enjoyed the fact you gave background on Jessica in your original video and how Justin and her met. You also had a narrative and told events in chronological order. In the documentary, the story is kind of all over the place and the events that took place aren't in order and is confusing. I hate to say that because I love your videos and I watch all of the podcasts with Mile Higher Media! I was so excited for this but unfortunately was disappointed. I wish editing could have been in order instead of jumping around so much, I think if you followed the baseline of your first video on Jessica it could have been so much better. That being said, I love your passion for helping families and getting these stories out there. You are the ONLY true crime channel out there that actively raises money for charities and tells stories of your followers to get attention for a case. Even having just watched your first video on this case a few days ago, I was still lost watching this. There didn't seem to be much in the way of structure. I know you mentioned you had other interviews lined up that fell through, but even with those included i cant see how this could have been made into one coherent documentary. I didn't understand what was happening at several points, including when talking about the position of her body, her falling in the shower, and then something about a blanket? I also still dont really understand what the restaurant manger had to do with the case. There was also several segments repeated that made me think I was going crazy 😅 I still watched the whole thing and appreciate you bringing awareness to this case, but the production/editing side needs some improvement. Was looking forward to this documentary, however, even after days of trying to watch it little by little, it still feels very all over the place. I’m familiar with the case, yet knowing the background still didn’t make a difference . For me, I understand the clicking/ticking noises were meant to signify the passage of time, but along with the shifting of the image was very disorienting. Sadly, that kept on throughout the piece. The written commentary was excessive, flashing too quickly at times or in a font that wasn’t the easiest to read. First of all, I want to offer congratulations for such an incredible undertaking. It's a blessing that you are raising awareness for the family and for Jessica and bringing some heat onto the NOPD. Also, even if he is never convicted or even investigated, now eyes are on him and people will know more context.
I've been a fan for a long time and at the risk of getting jumped in the comment section, I would say I felt like I had no idea who Jessica was or anything about her. It just jumped straight into her body etc. And people mentioned she was a wife/daughter/sister etc but that doesn't tell me anything about her.
People followed for the true crime content and over time your voice, demeanor, cadence, etc has all evolved to be very respectful and mature and presents as advocacy. I will say at some point when you turned more toward being the caring true crime channel brand, the overly long emotional segments and rambling speeches from neighbors, etc could be a turn off. Drawn out sequences of intense crying that make one feel as though they're stuck at a longwinded event. I actually think it could have *more* impact if it were edited back a bit. Still included, but not uncomfortably long so the content is more compelling and certain bits highlighted rather than keeping 5 people reading long notes in court, etc. Also I don't think including some backstory on the killer/perpetrator is always glamorizing them. I think people would like to know more about the overall story and information in general.
In this case, I would have liked more backstory on the victim and Justin because it's basic human interest and would likely reach even more people that way. I will continue to watch and support and thank you for all you do and for working with NCMEC. This is an incredible achievement and I look forward to more and will follow this case for more details.

I really appreciate your constructive feedback and this comment is very helpful. We are still learning and will apply a lot of this to our next project. This case was very difficult as Jessica was so ostracized from her family and friends that not many people knew what was going on in her life at the time. It was also difficult that it was not investigated and there was not much to work with. Police, DA and others we contacted declined gonna a part of it and some crucial interviewees bailed. The timeline was blurry, there was so much that couldn’t be shared to protect those involved. I wanted the family to be happy with it above all else so I felt bad cutting back their emotional moments. Justin is also pretty private and there’s wasn’t much available on him. I really appreciate you voicing this feedback in such a kind way. We will work harder to make our next documentary even better.

I 100% agree with this comment. This case was so hard to follow and it was confusing at times.
      1. Relationships of those being interviewed weren't exactly clear about how and why they were invovled with the case, especially at the beginning. The most confusing for me at first were the restaurant owner and the neighbors/concerned citizens?!
      2. The corruption was an important part, however it felt randomly sprinkled throughout and never fully explained... just felt like something was missing with this part. I think a complete/full segment on this toward the middle or end would have been more helpful....It seemed like you were trying to avoid certain parts such as with the brief mention of the explicit content she and her husband produced because you didn't want her being painted in a negative light and I 100% respect that, but I think the corruption piece made more sense after seeing that....
      3. The tidbits of the interview from the husband via body cam footage or whatever?! It would have been better to see it as a whole instead of broken up into pieces. And fitting it into the story where it belonged would have been easier to follow and understand.
I felt like it jumped back and forth and then went this way and that way and then back this way.....then that way.....
A more linear flow of events as they unfolded would have been a lot easier to follow.
Either way, the main thing was bringing this case more attention and that you did, so goal achieved.
I hope you take some of these comments, not just mine, but others and make some tweaks and continue following your passion of making documentaries! ❤

I agree! I love Mile Higher Media and all of their different projects but I feel this doc is a bit confusing. It didn’t seem that there was a progression/timeline of the story, it is more like clips of interviews with sprinkles of Kendall & Josh’s experience.

Yeah, and even for someone like me who has been watching this channel for years, the first video was so long ago that I can barely remember what happened. I thought there would be some recapping of the details of the case at the very least

They are great and I will still support them but I had to rewind so many times thinking WAIT WHAT... only to realize I didn't miss anything it was just not very linear and didn't go into any explanations. It feels rushed and slapped together.. which isn't them at all! Maybe they know the case so well they knew what they meant when pouring it together, but forgot we aren't close to it like them? Idk. The first doc they did was GREAT

As Kendall has said numerous times, we are all ACTIVE true crime viewers. The least we can do is watch her video on this case if you don’t remember the details or haven’t heard of it. She’s been talking about this documentary for weeks and reminding everyone to watch her video on it. This documentary is focused on Jessica and her family’s fight for justice, as Kendall said at the beginning. Maybe there are some things lacking or that we would’ve done differently, but look at the credits, they are the only ones doing this. They don’t have a label or big company that takes care of everything, so I think we should appreciate that and give more constructive criticism instead of saying you didn’t understand the case/documentary because you just didn’t remember or hadn’t heard about it..

I walked away and cleaned the house. It replayed so many clips I kept rewinding thinking I had missed something. But it was so jumbled. I truly don't know the difference between this and the other episodes where she interviews family members. And no new information since the original video she posted. I love kendal and all the mile higher shows. But this really seems very self focused.? Also the sister seemed to be in need of some substance abuse help.

I was confused by the style of this documentary. It never told the story. I know most of us know it but what about those who don’t? Also the score (music) in this film distracts and doesn’t add to the message

Kendall, thank you so much for getting this story out there again and all of the hardwork you and your team put into this! I truly admire all the work you do for the community. However, I do agree with some of the comments saying the documentary was hard to follow. I wish there had been some background on Jessica and how her and Justin met, how their relationship went south. It would have been great to hear how the sequence of events played out in chronological order like when she first went missing, then the police footage of justin, a few interviews in between, then how her body was found by the family, the struggle of it taking 530 days to get Jessica home, etc. The editing is all over the place and i feel lile you nailed it with your first Jessica video as far as a narrative whereas this video lacks that. I think following a timeline of events like you did in your original video really creates a flow in a documentary. I know how hard you guys worked and commend that! Just wanted to provide feedback. I wanted to enjoy this doc so badly but it is confusing. Please keep making documentaries, i really look forward to your future ones!

I love you guys and I know this took so much time and effort but it was kind of hard to watch. Too much editing and splicing together random clips. I wish it was more of a story and showed more of the interviews that were done.

I'm speechless...at this case, at the corruption, at the mistreatment of Jessica's family. Thank you guys for being who you are and supporting and bringing awareness to these cases. I have never been so proud to be a fan of someone as I am you guys. I hope you are able to continue doing documentaries like this. You all are truly so, so amazing. I hope all who see this can ban together to demand answers. Thank you again for being a voice for those who really need it.

I was really fascinated and interested in this documentary while watching it. Is it a perfect format? No, but that’s inevitable when you try something new. The prime points were all hit: Jessica was a loved person who deserves justice. The system is corrupt, broken, and couldn’t provide a proper investigation. Justin is clearly guilty. Kendall, Josh, Janelle, and everyone involved in this production, great work! I can’t imagine the work, effort, and thought put into this project and im excited for more content in the future. You guys are so very admirable❤️
