As an older Canadian, threats of tariffs are not new, what is new is the level of anger coming from the Canadian people. All of our politicians are on the same page which never happens. Whoever wins the next election will have cart blanche to stand up to the Americans. For myself I will do my best to not buy American goods.
Agreed. As a Toronto based Canadian, I think it would be terrific to stand up to the bully and bloody his nose. However, tariffs don't benefit any party. Part of me thinks that both parties need to set up the administration to deal with what this means; imagine stopping every truck across the border locations to pay an extra tariff. Where does it go? It's a practical nightmare with the largest trading partners creating unnecessary churn for political purposes.
Yeah! I think a lot of the world who is concerned is going to try this too and what ever you do, utterly reject any of Elons companies. Get of twitter, boycott tesla, no starlink
I'm not a Canadian, I'm European - so in the group of nations that are still waiting for Trump's tariffs play, but this whole thing convinced me to check what I'm buying and avoid American products from now on. I'm aware that this kind of consumer protests tend to be weak, but really I need some sort of feel of control over this madness that he imposes on us all.
This is a great approach! I do something similar whenever there's news that makes me feel helpless. Individual action is tiny, but it's still heaps better that zero. And the consequences of our actions are so complex and unpredictable - we can inspire people, we can uplift or exhaust ourselves and other people can feel that... - that it's always better to simply do what you think is best.
thats probably a good thing, keep him in the treehouse and away from the controls, Trump isnt religious but Vance might be a bit of a religious fanatic, the worst kind of person to have in power
To be fair, the main jobs of the VP are to be alive in case the President stops being alive, and to go to offical things the President probably should go to but doesn't want to.
Vice Presidents don't normally do anything at all to be fair. That's why they often struggle to get elected - they spend 4 or 8 years looking a bit pathetic. Biden did very well to get elected and he didn't manage it straight away. It just isn't a job where the boss gives you stuff do to, not least because the president wants to look as powerful as possible, and this particular president? He's a massive egomanic, even less likely to allow his number 2 do anything at all. Arguing with podcasters about religion is probably the absolute most he's allowed to do.
Love the fact that JD Vance accused Rory of believing himself to be more intelligent than he actually is, when Vance is boot-licker to a moron who declared himself to be a 'stable genius'. You really couldn't make this stuff up.....
Vance is an idiot , But Rorys very dodgy history does indeed lead me to think ,that he thinks of himself as being rather more intelligent than the rest of us ,a supporter of apartheid ,a chairman of a cia backed right wing group ,he is just another smug person who thinks he knows best.
@@levestane6383 Despite my comment, that hadn't occurred to me, and it puts an even darker slant on the Trump Administration's objectives, especially when you think he couldn't possibly lower the bar any further, and he does precisely that...
JD Vance is an incredibly accomplished person who has achieved drastic social mobility you couldn't even imagine. Sit this one out. Your contribution to the country has been to merely accept more immigration and ruin the social fabric of your community.
Love your take on American tariffs on Canada. As a Canadian, I'm not unhappy with the current outcome but I wouldn't have minded had Trudeau stood firmer. I guess it's truly just not our nature (we are polite and peace-loving) and when dealing with the stupidest, most unpredictable man to ever hold his office, I'm okay with Trudeau's strategy to let Trump think he won something. We'll see what comes next in 30 days. Thanks to you both for your brilliant analysis and showing the world how to have an actual conversation about a problem.
It tells you the world that Alister n Rory leached off for decades is dead. Also it was a big W for both parties, DJ bitch slapped them and they got promoted.
Canadian here, the anger in Canadians is real. There is a sense of betrayal and there is a loss of trust. Things have changed and I dont think Canadians will forget this for a long time. There is a a sense of urgency now to decrease our connections with the US and broaden our partnerships, Canadians are still talking about buying non american goods, selling real estate in the US and stopping travel there.
This is either under estimated by the Trump administration or, if correctly estimated, his reforms and leadership might be more transformational and radical than expected.
@@simonnilsson5356it is little more than bullying by Trump. Being a school yard bully is all he understands, there is nothing deeper behind it. The thing that amazes me is how little push back there is from those around him. The big change this time around is Trump has surrounded himself with complete sycophants whereas last time it was at least republican politicians/civil servants. So this time Trump’s crazy is on full show and there is nothing to stop it.
Thank you so much for your fair and balanced presentation of important stories that are often ignored or seriously skewed by the US corporate news outlets. I trust your coverage-high praise in these days and times.
I love how natural the analysis in the UK is.... nothing in the USA seems natural it all seems manufactured to me. Everybody in the USA is saying what you want to hear, and they are very miserable
@@SuperKimjong How do people even feel comfortable typing this bs? You boycott, NATO goes away, and Russia can take out the UK's air defenses in like 2 days. Then what, genius?
We can't afford to ignore the news altogether, but we can mitigate the crazy by finding podcasts and sources that are balanced and logical like this one. But do take care of yourself.
Have the same problem, but I keep looking for good people and sometimes manage to find them 🙂 Good thing to remember is, a lot of people have the exact same sadness about humanity for the same reason as you do 🙂
Wow. The last thing I would have expected. You are in Syria and spoke with the new president. I wish Syria and Syrians well. They have been through hell.
I think we learned something revealing about Vance. It's genuinely outside of his conception that somebody might care about the suffering of people in other countries, not just as a performative political tool
I don’t think it’s helpful to interpret his statements like that. He was just saying he puts Americans first. Not that he doesn’t care of others. That being said, as a Christian, I’m in between. We should love everyone not in a hierarchy but in terms of their individual dignity in being in the image of God. That being said there is obviously a priority and special responsibility to one’s family. In terms of practical considerations also those around you locally are those to care for first. But it says nothing about where those around you are from. You should love the immigrant and enemy near you as anyone else.
@joshyman221 To be clear, I think he is very used to seeing people use the suffering of immigrants or foreigners as some kind of bludgeon in the political realm and he's not used to somebody like Rory who is actually in it because he thinks it's important. I think Vance might actually be right about many of those people but he's not used to people like Rory
@@joshyman221 I interpret his statements that way because you don't need to screw over people from other countries to put America first. That is literally not caring about those people to get an advantage over them.
@@Kryternsometimes you do have to make a choice though, and indeed it is much easier for Americans to help Americans than to help other countries. But yes I agree there are many people who want to be seen as Christian who just don’t care about others… I guess I’m just not sure JD Vance really is that one (yet). His statements weren’t really what you’re saying. We should clarify things to have meaningful discussion. The first response everyone is giving is statements like “should you really put someone 10000miles away over your child?” Which is obviously ridiculous and comes from just talking past each other I think.
It is not a Christian belief that there should be unlimited migration into my country. This is easy to prove, by looking at migration policy in Christian countries for literally all of history. “Care for the refugee” and “accept infinite voluntary migrants as permanent residents” are unrelated propositions.
We shouldn't underestimate the key role that Christian Extremism has played in the Trump rise to power and the impact that apocalyptic yearning drives Trmp's ME policies. Scary.
@@macflod Exactly. You only needed to see Vance's face during the inauguration sermon to know how far from actual Christianity they are. I'm Christian in Europe and their unhinged mentality is actually further from the mindset of me and my Christian friends than common basic atheism is. And that's saying something.
Yeah- here is the thing - Trump does not believe in anything but himself - he only used the christians for votes - he does not believe anything that they do he plays along . He's just a con man albeit - a very mentally unwell one.
Rather than quoting Galatians, how about Hebrews 13 vv 1-3? "Remember to welcome strangers in your homes. Some did that and welcomed angels without knowing it."
Vance is a weather vane where the wind blows mainly from the right but changes direction often, especially when it’s blowing out of Trump’s arse. Musk needs to go back to his ‘16 hours a day, sleeping on the floor job’ because without him how can anything survive? That may give Vance a bit to do and ease the relevance deprivation syndrome.
Regarding the tariffs, i really hope they go through. Economic collapse and an insane focus on domestic manufacturing might actually be what limits the climate catastrophe we are on course for
I agree with Rory. Give a bully what he wants and he’ll keep on pushing. Give his voters what they want and they’ll keep voting for him. Sometimes you have to make a decision between what is convenient and what is right
@elinstar6034 depends who can get you the most votes, the tech bros who swing in the wind or the evangelicals, the religious leaders representing the various communities
I get the impression from his comments that he does not know the difference between a fiscal deficit and a trade deficit. The US does have a problem with its national debt (cumulative fiscal deficits) of $36 trillion caused by fiscal mismanagement in response to various crises (2008 financial crisis, Covid, tax cuts, etc.) and unfunded wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.) and some action has to be taken to reduce the debt over the longer term. However, the national debt is not an immediate crisis as around $28 trillion is held by US entities. The growing trade deficit is also a problem. For a couple of decades countries such as (China, Germany, Korea and Ireland) have run large and persistent trade surpluses that have been absorbed by a relatively few countries (USA, EU ex Germany, India, etc.) who have run persistent trade deficits. For anyone interested in this issue, I would recommend a paper "Trade Intervention for Freer Trade" by Michael Pettis and Erica Hogan on the CarnegieEndowment.org web site.
American here. I 100% support Canada. I apologize to my Canadian cousins for the insanity of the Trump regime. I can only hope and pray that the Republicans lose control of the government next round of elections.
Until 200 years ago, for most people, their frame of reference was limited to a small locality. These days, taking on a sense of global responsibility is overwhelming.
The thing with the Canadian border is that there’s more fentanyl and illegal immigrants going from US to Canada than the other way from Canada to US. Absolutely insane excuse to use.
Not surprised, who wants to live in the US atm, sounds like an absolute dump. Also amount of guns coming from the US to Canada? I’m sure Canadian border forces on top of that.
dude you can not take anything Trump says at face value - it is not like talking to a normal adult person . I want you to realize that in the span of a week - he has said - Canada is ripping the USA off , the border is unsecure, they are flooding the USA with fentanyl , Canada won't allow US banks into Canada - those have all been used as justifications - from his mouth in less than a week . Now ask yourself - when was the last time you witnessed a head of state behave like that . And besides all that - he also said - that the trade imbalance between Canada Vs USA - was outrageous the terms of trade were insane - he could not believe how awful the terms of trade were - and he never recognizes that he actually was the person who dictated those terms 7 years ago - that is literally how nuts the guy is .
Canadian who's lived in Mexico the last 20 years here. Trudeau bought time and displayed Canada's willingness to try and work this through. Good call - we need to make plans with allies, and we needed proof Trump really is that mad in order to make serious plans. Also, if you want your population to stay lined up behind the fight after tariifs have been biting for a year, you need to be able to honestly say 'We really tried. He's not being reasonable.' And who should Canada make plans with more than anyone else? Mexico. Now all of Mexico and all of Canada has proof how important this is. Let's get down to business and make a free trade agreement of our own, minus the USA. So sad.... We'll be friends again, America. Be strong.
As a foreigner who is a massive fan of London, Britain and British culture in general: FIX YOUR INFRASTRUCTURE!!!! Look at a map! Of course you should have a high speed rail link to the north!!! Of course Heathrow and Gatwick should be massively expanded and renewed!!! Environment?!?!??! London basically covers 1/3 of England!!!! There is no natural environment around Heathrow!!! AND FIX THE BLOODY CELL PHONE COVERAGE!!!! I'm travelling through the most densely populated country in Europe and the cell phone coverage is on a par with Siberia!!!
There's a lot about IQ measurement that's open to discussion, but Vance raised the term. IIRC the threshold for Mesa was a demonstrated IQ of 150. Impressive or not, that Rory qualified is impressive. Vance's problem is that his mouth takes up 95% of his head.
Did Vance really ask if morality is variable depending on your personal relationship with another person? 😂 It's almost too hilarious when individuals don't comprehend the failure of their own words.
On tarifs a quick side note for people who have never worked in product distribution. When Trump / Trudeau talk about 25% tariffs, they don’t talk about 25% more at the checkout for affected products. What they add is 25% at the border. Now, when products cross a border you tend to have distributors and retailers put their margin *on top* of the cost of goods from the border… so let’s say 30% for the distributor and on top of that 60% for the retailer … now the 25% tarif at the border *become a 52% price increase at the checkout.*
As a Canadian i most say we dint fold he only got what he already had. Alot of premier remove american product from the announcement and i can tell you alot of canuck now wont be buying american until Trump is in office.
that is what he does all the time - stirs up shit - fucks things up - and then declares victory - it is as predictable as the sun rising in the east tomorrow morning .
Lufthansa and their investments in: Frankfurt, Munich (Lufthansa), Zurich (with Swiss), Vienna (with Austrian), Milan, Rome (with Alitalia), Belgium (with Brussels Airlines) and Latvia/Baltics (with Air Baltic) are getting what it will take to truly own the skies from Europe to the World. I agree with Rory, the UK needs to start making investments in the other airports around the UK versus flying everyone to Heathrow for BA. Airports in Scotland can reach the US with the Airbus XLR. Why send everyone to Heathrow? Makes little sense.
As a Brit and a Canadian it makes me sick that we have to suck up to Trump for the next four years. Here in Quebec we were ready for a fight. The Quebec liquor store was about to strip the shelves of all American booze and it buoyed us up to be giving Trump the finger. What is the point of pretending we are making concessions? I despair.
Calling Trump an "extraordinary communicator" just because he speaks Caveman which apparently is the language of many Americans is a weird way to put it.
@@SL-sd3sg See his argument with Rory Stewart for proof. Vance is just another Yank with crazy Christian views like the fools that landed on the Mayflower.
Canadian here, and as a leftist and passionate Trudeau supporter, I really really want to convey that this was the ONLY option. We are NOT the country that can afford to stand up to Trump. I don’t really know if any other country can really grasp having a trade relationship so dependent on one partner that no matter how much we unite, protest, or demonstrate, those tariffs would’ve been catastrophic to Canada compared to a minor inconvenience for Americans. And while the mood online was fierce, the physical social mood was much different. And I don’t mean that we weren’t standing strong, but there was just an eerie quietness that you could pick up for a few days. We were, and are, worried of the tariff’s. I’ll tell you it’s one of the most surreal feelings to ever experience (more so collectively as a country) that on Monday everything is completely normal. You wake up, get ready, go to work/school, come home, and then go to bed. But the thought of knowing that on Tuesday, when the tariffs come, your life and all the individual lives around you are going to completely change for the worse. Sitting at home just knowing that people were going to lose jobs, houses, friendships, investments, hell even their lives, simply because some American says so, is not something I ever want to go through again. And I must say, out of absolutely everything, the silence from the UK was the most deafening. So Rory while I love and appreciate your perspectives and world views, this just simply was not something we could’ve handled on the best of days. And Trump knows it.
Re the Rory v JD argument. Here is Bonhoeffer writing in the Germany of 1930s, (and I am drawing any other comparison): “ [this] was the fatal mistake of the false protestant ethic which diluted Christian love into patriotism, loyalty to friends and industriousness, which in short, perverted the better righteousness into civil justice . Not in such terms as these does Jesus speak. For him the hallmark of the Christian is the extraordinary.” ie the love of enemies. Dietrich Bonhoeffer The cost of discipleship.
On CBC news, the commentators were very emotional this weekend. They said "no country came to our help, we are alone". We are not China, nor the EU to retaliate in kind, we are "the mouse" and they are "the elephant".
For our international friends who don’t know these two - they were politicians from opposing parties. Alistair was more senior in the Labour Party, but Rory was in the Conservative Party for a decade. So this is like a Republican senator sitting down with a Democrat senator and being able to have a perfectly civil discussion, with mutual respect for and a willingness to listen to each other’s opinions.
As someone who cares about the environment and nature, I hope the 3rd runway plan gets ditched, along with the oilfields. I am disgusted and disappointed in Labour, promising so much but of course rowing back on so much that seemed good. I agree with Rory, smaller projects with greater local worth are better. This country is already turning into a giant car park, the last thing we need is more wildly expensive nature destroying projects born of Ministers Egos and Ideologies. More nature, less concrete.
A Canadian’s perspective to Rory’s idea. The automobile industry is a tightly integrated work flow where certain items actually cross the border several times. Multiple applications of a tariff would quickly mount to more than 100% of value plus the just in time nature of this process means that there is often less than a half day’s inventory therefore starting and stopping flows would be catastrophic
Greetings from Kenya. Very insightful podcast. I wish this was aired on prime TV. Also please try doing subtitles on the interview with the president instead of voice over. Thank you
Canadian here -the tariffs are only held off for 30 days -i think Trudeau acted correctly. People are still very united and boycotting us goods. I think Trump is going to come back in 30 days and go after the our supply management system -this has been an issue before and before Trump.
I agree, but the supply management system, especially in milk, will be the target of the renegotiation of the USMCA or CUSMA as they call it in Canada. Other than Cdn oil exports to US, Cda imports more goods and services from the US than it exports. The threat of tariffs is an attempt to redirect manufacturing investment from US and foreign companies away from Mexico and Canada and into the USA.
Oh you are absolutely right - this is not over he only put it off because he did not want the story to be that he started these tariffs and the stock market plummeted more than it ever had in history because that is what was going to happen - and why he backed off . He will come up some story about how he corrected the trade imbalance - and then start in on something else - like supply chain . Canada should recognize that this is economic warfare - that he has begun and he will continue to do whatever he can to destroy the Canadian economy
Since the election we have been screaming for a growth plan. Where is it? Why not the basics of funding stem subjects through uni? Time is ticking and we have nowt.
I remember flying out to New York from Heathrow in 2017, about an inch of snow fell overnight and BA cancelled nearly all of it's flights because they were waiting so long to take off that they needed to be de-iced again. I was fortunate in that I was travelling alone so they managed to slide me onto an AA flight. They'd need a serious expansion of ground operations for a third runway, it's not just as simple as 'build a new runway and terminal'.
As a Canadian, people are feeling the effects of the inflation that has occurred since 2020 and the cost of living is pretty crushing. Additional costs to Canadians at this time would be more impactful than allowing Trump to feel like he has won. The only potential downside with not standing up to Trump is that he will continue to threaten Tariffs for more concessions. He has already stated that he wants Canada to allow American banks into Canada. The thing that bothers me the most is that the inconsistency of Trump leads to too much uncertainty in the economy and will also have a large impact.
Oh please please please keep spatting with J D Vance, Rory! We need the light relief so much rn!!! 😂And you guys, EPIC you've gone to Syria. He is one of the most interesting leaders on the planet. Well done. Can't wait for the interview.
Canadian here: Trudeau rode the wave of public sentiment masterfully. His quick action caught the right wing Pierre completely off guard and pinned to Trump now. He got a win while Pierre fumbled and looked a fool. Letting it drag would have opened the door to Ontario's core manufacturing industry to shutdown even a few days would have been abysmal. It's been a crazy swing of unity and nationalism in a few days country wide. I agree with Rory's logic as a long term deterrent. But it would take a larger coalition like EU to turn the screws a bit on American citizens and politicians.we are just waaaay too tied to the American economy. While I think we are all at risk of new tariff threats until Trump loses interest, a few days is like a whole new era of a trump presidency and "policy". Prepare for the worst but don't over commit to waste time.
The book didn't causee any of that; it's not alive and has no agency. Many people have used the book to justify stuff they wanted to do anyway, which has caused a lot of that.
@f0rth3l0v30fchr15t @f0rth3l0v30fchr15t actually it has had immense agency over the centuries. Look up actor network theory and the role of non human actants in shaping political domains. Think of oil and gas today. These are non human actors that exert their agency over the social as we live in anthropocentric climate change. in other words things are anything but passive bystanders to human history. They act on us in key ways. And the bible is one of the most important examples of this.
As a Canadian, I'll do what I can to stand up and buy Canadian (or at least boycott American) but we've already got a cost of living crisis. Many of us can hardly afford to live without a tarriff war. We need to think long and hard going into this next election to put someone in charge that will make it feasible for us to stand together against both our orange nincompoop neighbour to the south but also against the overly bloated large monopolies robbing us in our own country (Loblaws for one).
UK here. You guys are incredibly lucky to have someone of Carneys abilities waiting to take over (hopefully). I would love to have someone Of his talent take over here in UK (more specifically Scotland)
People like (JD Vance) say that they won't help a stranger but they also don't care about people at home either. He also has no idea about Christianity either, neither JD Vance or Trump are Christians.
Malcom Turnbull loves to tell how he "dealt" with Trump, through doing exactly that- standing up to him. He responds to shows of power- I wish the leaders from the Anglosphere would stop acting like he's some untouchable god and stand up for their countries and their citizens.
yeah he is right - Trump is nuts and he thinks very differently than a healthy adult . If you do not interact with him right it just turns on the sadism in him. Trudeau - is the absolutely wrong guy for this - he is a pick me boy - and that energy - just makes Trump want to bully more . - if you notice that lady that is the president of Mexico - from the beginning told Trump to go f*ck himself . Then they had performative discussion - but he does not troll them the way he does with Canada - talks about it being the 51st state . I am pretty sure that is in reaction to Trudeau - he gets off on treating him like a lackey.
Rorys absolutely on the money about infrastructure projects. We dont need massive projects we need smaller ones that link together. In my part of the country transport is amazing, but we always hear about how bad it is elsewhere and when i do travel i can see it. Bigger projects seem to always go wrong too.
I can't imagine a vice president having a Twitter spat with someone. That's what an 8th grader with nothing to do does. They have more volunteers willingly to act as bots.
I’m 71 and when I was doing O level RE, I had a light bulb moment when analysing Jesus teachings, it went something like OMG he’s one of us. I was in a small mining town in the N East with a miner dad. Since then I’ve tried to tell people ( if it came up) Jesus was a socialist. Oddly, it’s my Tory , leave voting sibling who is the practising Christian 🙄🙄.
So when the Bishop spoke about Christian values-doing exactly what her role entails-she was accused of mixing religion with politics and told to "stick to religion." Yet, when Vance does the same, nobody is lamenting. Shouldn’t he be told to stick to politics, then?
as a devout (protestant) christian, i definitely agree with rory and not vance. i think the most telling this is that vance decided to quote church fathers rather than the bible itself. anyways, this whole debate sheds light on why the protestant and catholic rift was so large in the earlier centuries - it completely redefines your approach to governance and social relations
Can anyone explain why it would be impractical to expand another of the nation's airports? That feels so much more sensible if it's not insanely more expensive.
Honestly, that twitter spat with Rory might be the most thoughtful thing I've heard from the Trump administration. I entirely disagree with Vance, both in terms of right and wrong and in terms of his interpretation of Christianity. However, at least he managed to make an argument rooted in some kind of morality, which is one rung up from all the egomaniacs lashing out in all directions just hoping that their actions will hurt other countries even more than they hurt America.
This past week has been a wake up call for Canada. Being overly reliant on one trading partner for 75% of your export income can have disastrous consequences. Trump is trying to use this leverage over Canada to force even further expansion of USA territory. The USA has twice tried to take over Canada and failed miserably. Canadians do not take kindly to bullying. Trump's nonsense forcing Canada to become the "51st" state, is incredulous to most of my fellow Canadians. The boycott by Canadian citizens of all USA imported products has begun. It is noticeably in my local grocery store, as the store shelves have Canadian and European products clearly indicated to help us make better choices. The Federal and Provincial governments have taken the initiative and pushed back and are now emboldened to work towards fostering more robust trade partners around the world. This will take time and must be done.
Im genuinely one of the last pro American people i know...for the erly years, the 90s, America was the greatest nation on earth. In the naughties, it was flawed but stilll amongst the greatest nations. Now? America is the fall of the Republic... Openly expressing empire, and a Caesar.... The US has gone frome the shining coty on the hill to the connauming shadow and blight on the horizon. Its painful to reconcile this.

A weird thing about Trump is he confuses trade deficit with an actual 'debt' owed.
He is too thick to understand the difference.

dude you can not take anything Trump says at face value - it is not like talking to a normal adult person .
Be strong.

I agree with Rory, the UK needs to start making investments in the other airports around the UK versus flying everyone to Heathrow for BA. Airports in Scotland can reach the US with the Airbus XLR. Why send everyone to Heathrow? Makes little sense.

Here is Bonhoeffer writing in the Germany of 1930s, (and I am drawing any other comparison):
“ [this] was the fatal mistake of the false protestant ethic which diluted Christian love into patriotism, loyalty to friends and industriousness, which in short, perverted the better righteousness into civil justice . Not in such terms as these does Jesus speak. For him the hallmark of the Christian is the extraordinary.” ie the love of enemies.

The cost of discipleship.
Rory's wikipedia page already has a mention of the JD Vance 'spat'!
Thank you
That’s a great phrase, Rory… “Trauma Politics Inequality” - kinda sums up the UK since Mrs Thatcher.
You’ve got a great interview there with this guy, well done.
Since the election we have been screaming for a growth plan. Where is it? Why not the basics of funding stem subjects through uni? Time is ticking and we have nowt.
I think he was right when he mentioned that Rory overestimates himself....
Excellent discussion. Also, the thumbnail for this is absolutely perfect!
Tariffs, exactly the same as Brexit and Trussanomics. Shorting the Dollar.
Oh please please please keep spatting with J D Vance, Rory! We need the light relief so much rn!!! 😂And you guys, EPIC you've gone to Syria. He is one of the most interesting leaders on the planet. Well done. Can't wait for the interview.
Working for British Airways 1992 - 1996 we were encouraged to get involved in a 3rd runway campaign, so approx 32 yrs ago
The real question is why any of you are quoting a book that has caused more violence, bloodshed, and legitimation of evil in human history? Let it go.
As a Canadian, I'll do what I can to stand up and buy Canadian (or at least boycott American) but we've already got a cost of living crisis. Many of us can hardly afford to live without a tarriff war. We need to think long and hard going into this next election to put someone in charge that will make it feasible for us to stand together against both our orange nincompoop neighbour to the south but also against the overly bloated large monopolies robbing us in our own country (Loblaws for one).

yeah he is right - Trump is nuts and he thinks very differently than a healthy adult .
