Facebook: keeps apologizing
Canada: come here my sweet baby...
The Nerdist 101 hahahahah😂😂😂
It's easier to get your apology accepted than get a permission. Facebook is basically exploiting its users as much as it can to acquire wealth and keeps giving them false promises.

That's still leaving one site for another. But yeah, they aren't too torn up about losses to instagram (though ideally theyd like them using both)

To be fair, this is a one of the more nuanced skeptic takes on how Apple “values” privacy. But this is really an overview-the specificities of how “privacy” is defined and handled by each company are very varied and different.

have you ever requested all your stored data from google? Its a pretty cool experience going through it all.
@@Falcodrin how do you get it?
What's the point anyways? Our privacy is nothing more useful than anything after our meaningless short lives end in around 50 years.
@@Falcodrin i did and i can say you can achieve "almost" privacy. there s no much on it.
the downfall is that it requires a bit of work and baiting the company with basically a coherent made up identity and feeding stupid data other than stripping away ad .apk s on your mobile and keep more local storage.

These videos are amazing. I'm amazed at how you piece all this together and the script behind it. So well written. Not to mention the slight jabs that bring in some humor. :)
I now have a pavlovian response where I get preemptively annoying near the end of every polymatter video because I think each sentence will transition into an ad in a way that makes no sense and opens up for a potentially interesting point that gets cut off immediately leaving you feeling super unsatisfied, every, single, time.
Except this one actually, this one was pretty good.
“Someone sober needs to trip sit” A perfect analogy for a well written video
Never trust a company that always emphasizes security & privacy for their customers. It’s just a cover
Not true this only applies to specific companies like apple real foss companies like system76 for example
I wouldn’t say that. It is fairly obvious at least since IOS 14.5 that Apple has no problem fighting with big competitors to secure customers privacy. Besides, Apple is a hardware manufacturer. And one of their biggest selling points is the privacy aspect. If there would ever be even the tiniest leak of information that Apple sells your data they would lose many of their most loyal customers. At this point privacy is profitable for Apple which is why embracing it is actually something that makes Apple trustworthy. That’s the only reason why I think Apple can be trusted a bit. Because it’s profitable for them to actually value their customers privacy.
@@musiccer7446 apple doesn't care about its customers. SIMPLE

I like your logical approach, PolyMatter, as instead of pointing at things that have been said by a company, you focus on the economic incentive. That way of thinking is important for the masses, in my opinion. If there's an economic incentive to do something, someone will do it. That's also why all the folks who claim that we're living in "crony capitalism", that if those banksters didn't do dirty tricks, the economic system would be fine, are wrong. If the economic system incentivises a behaviour, you bet that someone is going to do it. Going by that logic, we should assume that Apple is also looking into selling data in some way without being perceived as privacy infringing in order to maximise profit.

I actually love how google are handling things they’re honest about it and tells you exactly why they need your data, and they don’t just throw words they have actual good products to exchange your data with. I would totally prefer using my data in exchange of google translate to one make it better and two make it free for everybody around the world than paying for it
They pretend to be honest. I reality they are not. Dp not use any of the three tech giants (google, appme or facebook) find more private alternatives.
Fair enough, more power to you. The reason why I went with Apple though is that I hate the thought of data exploitation and harvesting regardless of the benefits I’m getting. The devices that I want to use are just tools for me, like a Pen or a knife. And Apple doesn’t need your data. Sure, the may collect some but way less and for totally different reasons. It’s simply not their business model.
Still, I totally get your point

Out of all these companies, I would say apple has the best track record when it comes to privacy
Well it is natural for closed source coded be more ''secure'' on general level but when it comes to NSA leaks Apple is a much to blame as other USA firms it all comes to one queastion which country you would prefer to spy you? Country's company or goverment branch that can be sued or state mandated spy web like China
none of these tech companies have good track records in terms of privacy lmaooo they literally make money by selling data

The people in China who Apple is suppressing to get in the good graces of the tyrants in China for Mao money? not so much.
@ericq2004 Of course not, What incentive does Apple have to spy on you, hmm? And lets look at the possibility of apple actually spying on you and abusing your data. What do you think would happen? Whistleblower coming forward and massive privacy oriented lawsuit for straight up lying to the customer.
@Anonymous Fox Yes, Data is Very valuable, to a Company like google where their source of income is ADS, But a company like Apple is able to make something like PRIVACY, A Selling point of their device. If you are so confident that apple steals their data, Why don't you go and sue them, Come on! sue them for straight up Lying to customers! Come on! do it
@ericq2004 yes, a company cares about Money, This is why apple made privacy a LITERAL SELLING POINT, Because they want you to buy THEIR Products instead of the others just because you'll get privacy with that one.
companies like Google or Facebook however are LITERALLY JUST Advertising companies, that offer services like youtube, and everything for free, just so they can milk us for our sweet sweet data. There is a reason why almost all of apple's revenue comes from hardware/own software/third party appstore sales (aka that 15% and 30% cut), and almost all of google's revenue comes from ADS
@ericq2004 come on man, this is complete BS. YOU KNOW That apple has literally been going Against the government’s requests. Remember the FBI Incident? Where apple refused to create a tool for the FBI That gives the FBI a back door into a certain phone, just because it compromises privacy?
Great vid. Thank u!
