Glad to see you bought that tractor!! That was a fun project to watch hated to see it go. How long prior to the auction did you have plans on buying it? Also on the cab i understood that it was a John Deere product, we have a 3020 with a cab and we were told it was factory but was more of the luxury at the time so they were rare. We also have a finished 3010 identical to yours!
I have one thing to say. 1- I am glad this series isn't done...I always hated how you mounted the Oil Pressure Gauge. I am glad you can finally fix it the way most people would do it. BTW..Clamp on duals??? I have seen your distaste for clamp ons. They are European as you say. Specially for Big Bud. So Clamp ons for JD are also a historical thing. Oh Well, might be time for some humble pie.
I just don’t like clamp ons for larger tractors. Small tractor like this eh, like hubs better, though I don’t think that was even an option for this tractor.
I'd say your spool valve seals are leaking and the rock shaft seal is leaking and spend the money and put new bushings in when you put the seals in get John dear seals and also do both sides since you have to drain the oil to put them in and nothing is more annoying than just fixing one side and a month later the other side stars leaking!! Also Fix all the leaks and stop using the dam stop leak in the hydraulic system!
I have to agree about using stop leak. I am sure RD will replace them all. I am very impressed with your diagnosis. I have worked with hydraulics alot in my life and have had to repair many leaks, as a rig pig.
Good to know kinda of what I was figuring as well with the Rock shaft, and I’ll make sure to do the bushings then as well. Must be a common thing with these tractors, seems like they all leak there. As for Stop Leak, well it seems to have worked on the power steering, I’m not necessarily a fan of Stop Leak products either, but I’ve always had good results on hydraulic applications.
@@delekham1863 Well i have a diesel mechanics degree, but most importantly i've been a farmer/rancher my whole life and have run/worked on plenty of 3020/4020's and the rock shaft seals are a common oil leak on them and steering shaft seals, of which are a major pain in the but to fix. and well anything with spool valves no matter the color will eventually leak!
@@radozeman yes rock shaft seals are a common thing, also recommend looking over the rock shaft to, have had a few I put in new seals and bushings and it still leaked and had to replace the rock shaft also.
Oh good I wasn’t ready for the 2510 series to be done.
Good more to come!
Thank you that’s what brought me to your channel
Cool, more to come!
Nice job. Love the old iron!!!!!
Thanks
It looks like a "Year Around Cab." Did you buy any implements?
I was told it wasn’t a Year Around cab, though that is what I thought it was as well. No, no implements.
Now we wait.
Again lol

Oh really I didn’t know John Deere did factory cabs then. As for when I decided to buy it, morning of the auction I guess.
Well someone’s gonna have a nice cab with all those goodies
Going to try at least.
