Very nice haul!! Have been seeing more and more of the Smokeye Hill Barrel Strength. Waiting for some online options to come back in stock. I'm determined to find a Still Austin Red and Blue Corn when I'm in TX in 2 weeks!! Currently sipping my way through a Green River Full Proof. Good stuff!!
Thanks for watching, Tony. If you can't get your hands on it soon, holler at us. We just got word that the SA heirloom releases are hard to find in Texas. If you don't find them we can probably find 'em again for ya! Loooooove the GRFP. It tastes just like what we pulled out of the barrel on Jeppson's video.
I watched the video the day it dropped but was going to comment later. We just had our annual town festival here and I was volunteering and must have picked up a bug that's going around. That and it was ghastly hot and humid. It's been a few days now and I'm still under the weather but I feel okay enough to comment, but maybe that's just the meds talking 😂. Binny's & Shelfer Bottles >I haven't seen Green River Full Proof up here yet and I'm not sure if we will. That's the one to try apparently. >Benchmark products are something I wish we got here as well. A budget single barrel offering would be awesome to have on hand regularly. Spicy Drops >James E Pepper decanter series did make an appearance locally. My friend was able to get one. I was completely out of the loop though, the drop came at a bad busy time. >Russell's 15 dropped statewide in Wisconsin in late June. I believe it was a Thursday late morning for Woodman's at least. I was working and my friend was working and we both missed it, unaware they were going to drop it like that. Well sure enough it sold out in a couple hours and in the hours after many were being listed for $800ish and one person and one online secondary place were demanding $1,500. Those people can all go screw themselves. It's those people that have ruined bourbon and have altered the distilleries/distributors/retailers towards catering or tailoring production and releases. As I've said before, the real bourbon market is people picking up their regulars like clockwork. Not flippers and posers looking to make a buck or show off by overpaying for bottles just to get them on the their shelves. >The two Weller's. I can't stand wheated bourbons. I've tried three of the Weller's and many other wheaters and I just can't get on board with it. I revisit them every so often to rule out bad batches or single barrels, and the results are always the same so far. Oh well, saves me a bunch of money! Not chasing after Weller's or Pappy or high end Maker's and others. >Early Times BiB. In a bit of luck I was able to secure two more bottles of black top from a collector and what's going to be my first blue metal screw top as well. Love the BF flavor profile! >Stagg 24A. This bottle is making a buzz. Supposedly the largest batch of Stagg to drop yet? People have been talking at the sheer amount of it that has become available. I haven't seen it here of course and I doubt we will except for maybe a bottle or two. Distributors suck, what can I say? We know they have stock available to spread around. >Smokeye Hill barrel proof. Another bottle making a big buzz since Fred Minnick said it beat out GTS. I like Fred Minnick, I use his reviews and opinions as gauges for my own purchases. My palate is not opposite his but it's enough that I can say with certainty if I'll like a particular bottle or not. I have not seen Smokeye Hill nor will I go online to pay $100+ for a 5 year barrel proof just bc Fred Minnick said it beat out GTS. GTS is a 15+ year aged product, kind of hard for me to believe that a 5 year would have anything on it period.
Green River is going to be one to watch. I bought a few of the Foxtrot X Cherry Circle Room collab bottles and they were phenomenal. BiB 6 year for $40 and I wish I had bought more before Foxtrot went under (although I hear they’re coming back). They were distilled by Green River so I’m excited to get my hands on one of their new SiB cask strength bottles.
Agreed. One thing to note here. The Foxtrot CCR IS Green River Distillate, however it's bottled and distributed through CH distilling. When we took our tour of their production facility they had cases of it in their storage center. I (Chris) used to work for CCR and occasionally they do bottle sales around the holidays, so you might be able to find them there (probably won't be nearly as cheap). Either way, the bottles are still out there, but you have to keep your eyes peeled.
@@BondingOverBourbon Awesome, thanks for the info, will definitely be keeping an eye out! I’m also hoping that since somebody bought all of Foxtrot’s inventory and will be reopening at least one location soon, they may have some there. 🤞
Nice bottles! I used my $15 Binny’s coupon on a backup bottle of Maker’s Mark 2024 Heart Release. I got lucky and found a RR 15 3 weeks ago on a trip to TN. Have been holding off cracking it open. 🥃
You scored the elusive white Weller! Those were not at my local binnys but I pulled a Stagg 24A, great video, I also sent you guys an email. Happy hunting!
I was a crazy find! We couldn't believe that we finally found it. Let us know what you think about the 24A when you crack it open. Looking forward to seeing you at the meetup!
Nice haul, folks! With the Binny’s coupon I picked up a Hughes Belle of Bedford 10 year Rye. Retail it was $119 and was on clearance for like a month at $79 and I snagged it for $65 with the coupon. It’s a really good 10 year 95/5 MGP single barrel.
Great Haul! I was unfortunately was out of town and missed the 15 off at Binnys! Usually use those specials to try new bottles that are a little more expensive. The new Laphroaig Cairdeas is one I’m thinking of picking up next….
I'm assuming they're getting it in the Chicago city binnys. Usually, they have the most allocated stuff bc of high-end buyers, thanks to Gold Coast people. I'm in the suburbs here near Elgin and Geneva, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, McHenry, and Bloomingdale never get any Wellers or Elmer T Lee. Once in a while, the suburb Binnys will get Weller SR or 12. I'm friends with one of the store managers. He said even Antique 107 is hard to come by bc the store managers will keep it for themselves.
I like you guys! I'm interested in this meet up! I'm in Rockford so you guys aren't far from me. Emailing now. I do like this kind of stuff too. Congrats getting all the hard to find stuff! 🎉

Nice haul. Lots of great bourbon came out over the last few weeks in IL
Thanks! It's almost too much good bourbon. We have crazy wallet fatigue right now 😮💨
@@BondingOverBourbon need a cocktail video. Wanna hear more about this stagg highball
@@trubaka we had one up before that flopped pretty hard. It might be time to revisit 🤔

Interested to know where you found Weller CYOB and the Elmer T Lee for MSRP in Chicago
Binny's has it all. Just gotta have good timing and patience.
