I do a lot of this already. It's become so natural for me to avoid advertisements since I'm 35 & I've been doing it since I was a teenager. When I actually go to someone else's house, like a relative, & I see regular TV with commercials, I react to it like it's a virus or traumatic memory. It's so transparent, it's sickening how well it works. The only hope I have off of all of these problems, is that people can develop their own semi-permeable force fields. Sadly I don't think everyone can do this.

Thank you Leo! I needed this today. I moved overseas about four years ago and I have slowly begun to wake up. Now when I try to communicate to people back home on a deep level they don’t seam to get it. The drive to mass consumption is killing us all and the holidays are a disgusting cheerleader of this dysfunction. Thanks for keeping it real. Much love from Qatar!

Leo says some good stuff, including in this video. However, take it with a grain of salt. I am someone that doesn't work a 9-5 and am clearly not part of the rat race. As someone that has a lifestyle that many people dream of, I can tell you working a corporate job and having stock options isn't bad at all. It gives you a good chance to support your family and enjoy them and that is what's most important in life. Leo also talks about McDonald's poisoning people but look at him. Does he look healthy to you? What do you think his kids and family are like? My friends, be happy, feel good, and embrace the struggle and grind even when it is difficult.

It was fantastic hearing your thoughts on this topic, Leo. Last year I started a marketing company with an intent to save capital and promote our zero & low sugar tea beverage. Thanks again for all of this high quality content, your insights are greatly appreciated.

The society of Materialism is a very true point. Like most people I got sucked into it and was very obsessed with buying “the next thing” all the time. I thankfully broke out when I bought my most coveted possession (a big ass tv) and I felt no excitement or happiness from it. This event actually inspired me to make a video about Materialism on my channel. Great discussion Leo!!

I believe that this topic is to be considered a VERY important one and I am glad Leo brings it up from this angle of perspective. Before starting GFD I spent a lot of time thinking about exactly this topic. How did I want to market my ART? HOW could I do this without “selling out”? My thoughts about how to market my art was shifting every day from; being utterly convinced that I had to, just HAD TO “fake it to make it”, to; saying “no, no, just be authentic, be yourself”. The reason it took me long time to decide was that I really did not want to do it the counterfeited way, but all these youtube-videos I watched got me almost convinced that I had to show off someone I am not, but since GFD is practically me…I couldn’t do it. I know myself very well and I am aware of often coming off as “a bit weird/strange” and so on, at least according to the big grey mass, and since I always have been, and that is fine with me, I finally realized that I would not only FEEL fake but already just the thought TOOK AWAY a great piece of my passion and prevented me from creating. With that limiting thought in my mind I suddenly couldn’t write as well nor create as much as I always do…and without THAT flow of passion inside me, well, there would be not much use of even bothering creating goodflowdesign. After that realisation it was easy to take a stout stand for authenticity 😊 You just have to take me and my ART for what we are. In the end, everything is what it is. So, this means: You do not have to love us, not even like us, you can hate us if you want, but this way GFD and me will always keep our integrity intact and FEEL good. Happy Holidays all you good hardworking bad-asses out there. A while ago I started two new tags: #authenticityrules , and if you feel good doing it; you too can join the #globalpositiveprogress Just be!

What leaves the question mark behind is how we are going to spread this consciousness, it is based on how much our audience can take in, like you said. The yogi master/sage/enlightened one would stay quiet rather than telling the truth because he knows the unconscious will not understand unless it wants to be understood. Consciousness comes by learning it through the hard way only we will appreciate the knowledge we acquired. Actualized.org is like a trigger to higher consciousness, a catalyst! Looking forward to your next contents, Merry Christmas Leo!

Great Video. Something I really needed to hear at this time: I've been struck by my inability to simply accept materialism lately. The only thing I object to is your statement that knowledge, or wisdom, is something that won't "trickle down to you". Now I doubt that mainstream will have those special pearls but I am a firm believer in "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" and Law of Attraction/Synchronicity being able to bring to me what I need at every given moment to help me grow. Anywhoo, cheers from a fellow researcher. Thanks Leo

“Look, part of the whole technique of disempowering people is to make sure that the real agents of change fall out of history, and are never recognized in the culture for what they are. So it's necessary to distort history and make it look as if Great Men did everything - that's part of how you teach people they can't do anything, they're helpless, they just have to wait for some Great Man to come along and do it for them.”

Thank you Leo, thank you, thank you. After watching this episode today I felt the calling. The last two years I managed to make some big changes for myself only using your free videos on UA-cam which helped me a lot. I just purchased your LP course and am really exited to work it.
This episode really resonated with me. I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for introducing the ideas you talk about in your videos. If it wasent for that my 18 year old ass would have never dared questioning anything. I managed to heal my asthma through lifestyle changes. You were talking about masterful teachers. I found a few very interesting people on UA-cam which showed me how to become healthy. Now I understand so much more about health and feel like I got some of my common sense back. Marketing really fucked up peoples ability to be healthy.
It is normal/healthy to smear bullshit sunscreen with many proven carcinogens on your body.... because.... ahhhh yeah right the sun causes cancer... yeah right...
It is normal to think that eating a little bit every few hours is healthy, do your research.. something simple as intermittent fasting can seriously improve your health.... (personal experience)
It is normal to be so unconscious that one has no awareness about what is healthy and what is not, it is normal that ones eating patterns are dictate by culture.
It is normal to be sick, like always. It is normal to have all sorts of painful symptoms which are signs of the body that something is going wrong.
It is normal to accept ones fate of low vibration energy, being sick and miserable instead of understanding that oneself might be the cause
It is normal to believe that somehow ones body does not know how to heal itself
It is normal that 1 out 3 people dies of cancer
And here is my ego, my ego that always tried to fit in since it was small, always trying to be normal.
Well now I say FUCK BEING NORMAL
To the people who read this comment I say, do not ever take anything for granted when it comes to your health. Try using common sense with a mixture of extensive research

Hey everyone, I study marketing and advertising and it is my passion. I love all leo's videos and I do believe their is truth to this but in the end of the day people want to buy stuff and marketing helps them get what they want at the right time place and price. I have been exposed to marketing all my life and it's not that bad if you're mature about. I think its really noble that companies put effort into making products that fully meets your wants and needs since you are paying for it, and that's really what marketing is about.

This last month I was really thinking about how marketing is one of the most destructive forces of modern day society.
I watched a bunch of TED talks and all sorts of other videos analizing the effects of marketing, how entire multi billion dollar businesses like facebook are profiting of addicting you to all sorts of shit and there was this one talker who said something really insightfull and interesting.
So in 1942 the manhattan project,100 000 of the brightest minds came together to split the attom,in 1969 some 400 000 of the greatest minds of that generation came together to send a man to the moon.
And now in 2017 we have 600 000 of the greatest minds of our generation ,working for the big tech giants like google, facebook, microsoft, amazon etc. ,who come together and use their combined intellectual capacity....to devise a more efficent advertisements algorithms and systems all in the name of....SELLING YOU A FUCKING NISSAN?!?!?!
Edit:Just found the ted talk I was talking about ,it's called "How Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google manipulate our emotions | Scott Galloway" ,I'd highly recomend that talk.

If it were true then everyone would have been talking about it. Back here, in india leo, we always used to. Words like "moksham","mukthi",directly referring to enlightenment, were common words in our daily language. People were talking about how to free themselves from their own minds were common subjects of discussion.
But now only we began to look more "modern" and talk about external material things. A true Indian will always remain disidentified from the culture thats happening today.

This marketing problem is even in the military. I’m in the Marine Corps and we are told to “Drink the Kool-aid” and get with the program. It is advised not to question your superiors and just do what you’re told. It allows us to get shit done quick. However, if my superior asks me to do some fucked up shit am I going to do it? Sometimes I don’t agree with the bullshit my superiors are feeding me. I also know my place and pick my battles because it is my career on the line. I joined the Marine Corps because I wanted discipline and I wanted to become a better version of myself. Now I realize the Corps isn’t gonna do it for me. I have to put in the work for myself. People say that I’m brainwashed, but I know that Leo has a lot of truth in his videos. So I want to thank you Leo! Keep it up!

I usually feel like the odd duck out but since somebody recommended your videos to me, I can remind myself of this truth, that when you think or live differently from masses you may very well be the odd duck out however that does not mean that we are in the wrong for being different.

Oops! We forgot. About sums it up. Love it. How do we break through the status quo, these control mechanisms? Big brother ain't gonna be happy with free thinking radicals. The truth is gonna piss 'em off, especially if you get some traction. Sounds like fun though... Maybe I've found my calling lol!!!
I know too much... F**k! Leo, I might need you in my marketing department. :-)
Thank you for challenging me, Leo.

    Heyyyyy Leo!
    Here's the real question.
If one's not yet earning a lot of money, or maybe is barely earning enough to pay the bills.
What should he do? Should he try instantly to drop hypocritical work and ways of making profit?
Ain't almost all work based on some kind of unfair or false shit?
    To me it seems so.
What would you do if right now you got empty bank account (or glass jar), but you had enough money to eat and pay taxes?
What kind of job would you for at such stage, when you don't have a giant audience or money to... MARKET yourself?
The similar question is old and about food.
Good food costs a lot. All those nice fruit, vegetables etc.
If one doesn't earn a lot yet, should he compromise quality of food a bit (keep digesting potatoes, diary but no fastfood and sweets and soda) and treasure money up?
Or should he put all of his money into the best food and expect it to pay off much more in the long run?
Thank you SO MUCH for your work, mate.
Wish you have a great holidays!

+Lexonn Maybe, depends a lot on your particulars.
Like I said, if you are stuck in hole due to poor decision-making, it may take 5-10 years to get yourself out. The point is to be aware of the issue, take ownership of it, and strategize accordingly.
My own past, as far as marketing goes, isn't that clean. I had to figure out ways to scrap by to bootstrap myself. But the most important thing I did was that I worked to outgrow it, whereas many people don't care to.

I really want to share my hard-gained abstract/summary with you, but it's not easy stuff.
If you don't plan on learning this stuff and have no basis it's gonna be of no use.
But you might be interested, and it's something precious for me that I REALLY worked on wanted to share with you. :)

So, I haven't watched this video yet but I'm posting this comment here because I think it's the most recent one and therefore possibly one you might still be reading the comments on. I am so fucking excited!! I watched the video on being a results maker... You said to stop sitting around talking shit. To shut the fuck up and start actually DOING something. I really heard that message. Today I bought The Four Agreements. Holy mindfuck! I am so thankful that I did. I have been taking shit way personally for as long as I can remember. This book is powerful! Again, thank you!

Aaron Swartz pissed them off big time : “Think deeply about things. Don’t just go along because that’s the way things are or that’s what your friends say. Consider the effects, consider the alternatives, but most importantly, just think.”

The USA is actually one of the few countries in the world where it is allowed to make commercials and advertisements for prescription medicines. There is also a lot of advertising to doctors, to give medicine 'education', also outside the USA.
