"If painting teaches you nothing, nothing else at all, it will teach you to see. It will teach you to see things in nature that you never knew existed before. You become aware of shape, of colour. It will open a whole new world to you." Great quote from Bob. So true.
What a legacy - Who was Bob Ross? He was a painter, but more importantly he soothed a lot of tormented minds and made them happy 😊 and sleep peacefully 😴
Bob is still with us, he may not be here physically but hes here. And ill guarantee when he passed over he painted himself the most beautiful world that hes living in for eternity.
I watch Bob for his painting techniques, but I thank everyone who made him a pop culture icon because now it means I have access to all his episodes. 😂😂Was near impossible to get ahold of any a couple years back! Now I can paint happy little trees all day long. 🙌
Its like watching a really really good magician. Look closely, pay attention and poof he created something more beautiful than any reality. Watching someone doing exactly what they were meant to do is such a privilege
I think PBS missed a golden opportunity....should've had Bob visited by Mr. Rogers when they were both still alive. Would've made for the most pleasant television event ever aired.
I bet there was a time in the studio where they did have a little chat after filming or taking brakes, very brief but still I'd like to imagine the conversation
It's amazing...I was driving a country road the other day, and all I could think of was "hmmmm Bob used the oval brush and sap green mixed with yellow and added the highlights to those trees over there...."
@@les4767 So, watching in nov 2020. Re trees. The view from my second story porch is the backyards of the homes across the river wherein lives many big trees. Lived here 12 years and not until watching many Bob Ross episodes did these trees seem like more than just trees. Now, when I look at them I think of what color paint it would take and what brush I would use with which technique to make this view a Bob Ross painting. What a gift he gave us to be able to view nature in a brand new way. So thankful they made so many videos of all his work over the years. 😊 💜 ✌ !!!
I want to thank God for giving as such a wonderful man, painter, and human been too :) thanks Bob Ross :) I’m pretty sure you still painting in heaven :)
Happy little skies, happy little trees, happy little accidents- here in Bobs world everyone is happy - such a positive and lively person. We are not happy he isnt still here.
I've been watching Bob since 1985 and I watch him for the same reason that I watched Mister Rogers as a child...because I have lived my entire life in an extremely violent and traumatic world that disabled my body and wrecked my mind. The time I spend with Bob, I am assured to be in a calm, safe place that soothes my PTSD and makes me forget my life for hours on end. I'm sure I would have ended things decades ago if it weren't for Bob Ross. One of my bigger regrets in life is that I was never able to thank him for the solitude he brought to my life and soul, but I suspect that he knew exactly what he was providing humanity every time he encounter them on video and in person.
His landscapes look so real! My favorites that he does are his mountains and trees. Looks so real! As if you were really there looking at it in person or taking a picture of it. I love Bob Ross!
Golden Sunset was always one of my favorite paintings by Bob Ross. The vibrant colors and the feeling of depth always astounds me every time I see it plus let’s be honest, I’ve always loved sunsets.
When you plan on watching a few at 2 in the afternoon..an before you know it your 47 episodes in ..your eyes are bleeding and your beating the devil out of everything.
You can see what he means when with a few extra details of different colour/texture etc it pushes the whole painting back giving it depth. Maybe it's just me but I find that amazing
He used to be a drill sergeant and got tired of screaming at everyone. Bob is a blessing of life.if he only knew how many of us have watched and listened to him for therapy.
On Nov. 11th 2000 I was in a car accident getting onto Ft. Irwin CA. I have a severe closed head injury. Bob Ross is one of the reasons to keep going on. Live long and prosper.
Now I do watch because the calming effect. Back in the 80's when he did appear at PBS/channel 11 it was to learn techniques same as with William Alexander.
Just Beautiful!!!! Love to watch Bob Ross paint for learning tips and to relax at the same time! He is one Great Artists! Also love how he explains every movement, how and why!
I love how there are so many that you can go enough time in between seeing the same one twice that you won’t even remember it. It’s like every one is new every time forever.
I watched Bob Ross paint for many years to learn from him. He was the best instructor becase of his great skill and calm way of explaining every detail as he was painting. He explained everything from the brushes he was using and when and how to clean the brush. His calm demeaner kept me enthralled with what he was doing. I never fell asleep watching him. He was too fascinating to me. I have watched his videos over and over, and I learn something every time. After suffering a devastating massive stroke, it was Bob's videos that helped keep me to stay interested in going on living and painting. There are some other good painters who make videos, but for me, Bob Ross taught the best. Once you learned his technique, you can paint most any scene. No one else compares to that wonderful man. His love for nature and sharing it on the screen was so inspiring and thanks to his videos, it still is. Bob Ross, you are missed by millions. Thank you for sharing your art with the world.
I have watched a handful of episodes. I was wondering, does Bob ever paint animals, wildlife or people into his paintings? The ones I have seen it always, trees-mountains-water-clouds-sunsets, etc.
Every time I watch Bob Ross I get so upset with God. Bob gave happiness to so many people around the world and he dies of cancer. How fair is this life and world? 😢
It is my beleif he made a huge happy accident with the phthalo blue on the snow, and he just went, and cover it with trees that cast a shadow on the snow. That was a majestic way of using it the shadow, which was made before, now belongs to those trees. The way he dismissed it by playing along with his calm manner, simply fantastic!
Lets put a happy little tree ,I don't know say like...RIGHT HERE.. 😂 He was such a fun gùy to watch. Hard to believe with that soft calming voice, he spent half his life in the Military ! God bless him as he now paints Trees in heaven❤

Seriously though, I've watched quite a few of Bob's awesome work, but only this one so far didn't grow up on me.
He was an amazing artist and person, and it is a beautiful painting, but on the realistic side, if there's snow on the ground, the trees wouldn't be full of leaves. He lived in Alaska for 15 years, he should know that. Lol!
