It is always odd whenever people try to excuse someone's actions with "but they're just a kid" because I certainly don't remember stealing people's money when I was a kid

The rationale behind it is that teenagers will do stupid things as they are given more freedom over how they live their life compared to childhood and they don't fully understand the gravity of the consequences for doing the stupid things. That being said, saying that they are just a kid should be asking for leniency for someone who is remorseful, not a get out of jail card for someone who doesn't care about the consequences or is knowingly acting out because they are a kid.
I always knew Speed's content is loud = funny but holy, seeing footage of his "content" throughout this vid really made me lost faith in humanity's humor lmao. All that aside this video is golden, piece of internet history.

You’re assuming that the victims’ livelihood heavily depended on the videos where IShowSpeed was featured. And be for real, really think about this and factor in his audience demographic, do you seriously think that a person has spent their life savings on that crypto just from that one livestream? I’m not doubting that a very minuscule percentage of his viewers spent a little bit of money on that crypto, but considering that most of his chat was against him and denouncing what he was doing, I believe that the chances of him ruining or destroying a life are extremely unlikely.

Does it matter? By trying to do the latter through the scummy (and illegal) means of false copystriking, you run the risk of ruining someone's livelihoods. As made evident by whoever it was in the video saying he was going to stop uploading while he dealt with the claims. Because why would he waste time making a video only for it to get claimed and lose the revenue he could've made off it? Speed's actions were directly impacting this guy's ability to monetize the content he was making to the point where he had to put a hold on making content altogether. And I wouldn't be surprised if others did the same. Yes, he is ruining the lives of the people he was striking just to make some dirty money.

But even if, like you said, one of the victims had to halt the making of their video and had their revenue affected for that time period, I still don’t think he’s destroying or ruining lives because these creators don’t depend on IShowSpeed to make content so they’ll take the hit and continue on with content creation without featuring him, and no one is in a situation where not gaining money from a video featuring IShowSpeed is financially ruining them as they’re unable to get another job or source of revenue. The guy you mentioned, MattRadiant (I think you’re referencing to), has a unique case where he got like 4 claims and decided to fight them all (with how the dispute works on UA-cam, they can turn the claims into strikes). Although receiving the claims, he decided to take the risk to fight them. While I don’t agree with IShowSpeed and/or his management copyright claiming others, he could’ve let the claims stay (or deleted/private the videos), not risk his channel, and continue making content without a single mention of IShowSpeed.
When it comes to lives affected, I’d say maybe more so obstructed but not to a level where they’re genuinely going broke and feel depressed and have a hard time getting back up (life ruined/destroyed).
When I first saw this in my recommended page, I was like “this is absolute horseshit.” But I had no right to call it horseshit if I didn’t actually see it. So I clicked on it.
And after seeing most of the it, I realised it’s not as fraudulent as it looks. And I like the editing.

It’s great that Muta agreed to be the defense attorney in this case. Sometimes the best way to convey the truth is to have a DA (devils advocate or defense attorney, take your pick) presenting actual points to be refuted later.

As Act Man said, to iShowSpeed and Adin Ross, abusing the copyright system in this manner is a business to them, with the only logical way to hit them where it hurts is to cut off their forms of revenue in some way, shape, or form. The only way to get their attention is to go after the thing they care about more than anything in the world at this point: their money.
One solution would be to do to them what Riot Games once did to tyler1 and ID ban them and any organizations their affiliated with indefinitely, then take it a step further and force them to pay all the money they had taken from those they've taken money from, as well as any interest accumulated for all the months those claims had been in force. They've proven themselves to be unrepentant offenders who would lie and abuse the system to get every single dollar they can get their hands on, so they need to be punished for this egregious behavior. I don't care if they go bankrupt and lose every penny from paying back what is due, once they've paid back all the money, then and ONLY THEN will UA-cam CONSIDER removing the ID-bans.
Also, put iShowSpeed on a predator watch list, for Christ's sake. The whole "Who's gonna stop me" schtick had gone from unfunny to stale to downright worrisome.

As a regular full time working adult, that plays games when they have free time to do so after the responsibilities are done I can say I'm so glad I don't have time for social media to this extend as to learn about these people naturally and I'm only learning through them in this video.
