Very entertaining battle report! Jude made some really clever moves, quite fitting for Minas Morgul.
But each orc having Blades of the Dead.. that's just crazy.

23:16 Great play right here with an adjustment for the new rules. I definitely thought the Orc Captain would wound Denethor on +4 with Blades of the Dead.
However, Harbinger of Evil doesn’t -1 your Courage anymore. It only adds -1 to Courage Checks.
This Minas Morgul army looks a lot different now in my mind.

Nice batrep, to play the Minas Tirith list you really need to include Faramir mounted with at least 4 knights. Thats where much of the power is

Lovely work as always and I really like the background effect with the players, looks really cool.
This report has really convinced me of the improvement the change to Priority brings.
I had been sceptical, assuming that it would almost always be obvious who had most to gain or lose, so in reality it was still random and player agency an illusion. There is a play in the game that shows how tactical the decision can be.
Great work in showcasing the new rules, in the best way possible: by playing the game.
Nice battle report! Was a fun watch. Though as a Gondor fanboy I was shocked to see no Knights, Faramir on foot, and no Boromir 😂

I am a big fan of the new Witch King. Its way cooler to push him into being on the Fell Beast and not being able to match him to whatever points level you want it great

Minas Morgul it's a favourite to be Tier 1 in the next edition due to Blades of the Dead rule for normal Orcs
It's gonna be a good army but probably not tier 1. Only one named hero, orcs are f3 and die to shooting. The orcs hit hard with blades but they die just as easy.

I see this list still being pretty strong.
@reslime hard to tell. I personally think last alliance or an elf army. Fight value seems way more important now. Any faction with a f7 hero facing one with no f7 or magic is gonna feel it.
@Competentetyler this army I feel is gonna play more regular orcs then marranons. The gimmick of the army is you get cost efficient regular orcs
Minas morgul is the army I am hyped up to play the most of the new edition

The fact that morannons are the same fight as fountain court guard is ridiculous, they really dropped the ball on certain profile tweaks. The rules changes overall are great though.

Nice battle report! Thought at first that in the fight of the orc captain vs Denethor (@23min) the captain would've only needed 4s not 5s against Denethor (because of Harbinger). The same with the Faramir vs orcs fight (@29:30min) where they would''ve only needed 5s with blades of the dead. But then I double checked and harbinger only gives a -1 on courage checks so the basic courage value doesn't get the -1. Interesting change on the Harbinger rule. Makes blades of the dead definetly weaker and explains why f.e. the King of the Dead lost the Harbinger special rule.
I think harbinger now influences courage tests, while blades of the dead is not a test.
@@tharnivas1 Noticed all this as well. Definitely changed my opinion of the strength of the Minas Morgul legion.
Forced to take the WK, but his Harbinger doesn’t help much. Bummer.
@@Competentetyler It is still very strong. One of the few lists where the Witch King is still good (because of 3/18/3 and free choice of other options) and the blades of the dead are still strong on 6pt orcs.
Having spectres, the options for trolls and morannons definetly makes this list very flexible. The terror on trolls and spectres synergizes good with the Harbinger.

But you should specify the correct title of the army in the title of the video since you play Minas Morgul and not Mordor!
Specter is D6 now, so is killed on 6 with bow S3

Do I take it that the witch king was the only 1 attack profile? Just thinking if it was higher there should have been way more attacks with the fell beast too :)
6:48 spectres in the new edition have D6 so so you would have needed a 6 to wound him

@11:15, why ddint the banner re-roll ? Doesn't the banner's reroll apply to him as well ?
Great question, when holding a banner you receive a -1 to your duel roll. The Witch King is a higher fight value than the Warrior so would win if the duel roll was a draw. Even if the banner re-rolled into a 6 it would go down to a 5 and the Witch King would still win the combat.
What camera do you use to record? Looks great!
I film using a Sony A6400. Its been my first proper camera and has been good to learn with but it has issues with overheating so for that reason I couldn't really recomend it. The key thing is that we are filming with fully manual settings and have a heap of lights set up around the board

What’s the point of taking Citadel Guard or rangers anymore? The higher fight used to make them a corner stone of the army but now that’s no longer the case.
Citadel guard are actually equally costed to warriors with bows but they have bodyguard and S3 bows as well as getting +1 to wound from irolas whereas the warriors just get shieldwall which doesn't do anything for archers
Rangers have bows and spears which is now very rare, also they still have shoot value 3+. But you are right that it is no longer a no-brainer to take Warriors frontline and Ranger/Fountain Court/citadel guard to support but I think that's hardly a negative

Yes, you now receive the benefits of Shieldwall from their positioning at the beginning of the duel, not after they back away like previously.

That is completely correct. For the first use of the "A fell light is in them" special rule we got it wrong but every time after that we got it correct
@@ConquestCreations Ah, I didn't get to finish the video, good to hear, I think it is much more balanced in the new edition.
I personally think elves got the biggest buff. Everything around them got nerfed. Alot of f7 heros now and with strike being kinda bad imo it's hard for weaker heros to vene out fight your regular troops.

If witch King would barge on the fight with Faramir he would get monstrours charge benefits on the second fight?:) it would give him bigger chance to set Faramir ablaze:)
I think that if Witch King uses the fire it should work till at least one model is killed by fire or something like that:p

you forgot about Denethor being able to steal priority on the Minas Tirith Legion!
Thanks for the comment, I think about 2/3rds through the game I used the "Do you think the eyes of the white tower are blind" special rule to take priority
Also 23:15 , 4s from the captain was enough , because denethor coruage is 5+ with minus 1 is 6+ which meand S4 on Courage 4 is 4s
New harbinger influences courage tests rather than characteristic so I think it was played correctly

I like the uptake in video quality, but not so keen on the GW copycat style of sitting off to one side for the talk to camera segements. Just feels like a cheap knock off. I prefered when you had your own style.
Thanks for the comment, genuinely really helpful feedback to get. It is very heavily inspired by GW's videos so I will play around with it a bit to make it more original and in my branding for the next one.
