Stock Dolmar 7910 vs Makita 6421 with a bored out 7910 piston/cylinder, gutted muffler. First cuts for the 6421/7910. I plan on gutting the cat muffler on the stock dolmar
Your right only different colors and the makita has the improved air filter option . Makita has own Dolmar for years since the 80's however they started marketing in their own name ten years ago .
I think these are some of the most over looked saws out there. Right outta the box they’ll spin a 28” with authority. Ported they are a real powerhouse!! Best ergonomics IMO!!
I have a red makita version -not a heavy user. Their rep among service companies here is that service/parts is more expensive and denial or limitation on warranty work is tougher than others, which can quickly wipe out savings. For someone like me who is an intermittent user, it doesn't make as much of a difference. I bought because similar saw was $200 less than husky. 15 years ago my first saw was a husky, and it as fine, but I had to go down a model for same price. Dolmar stuff was a lot stronger at each size, esp. considering price, but husky and stihl have erased and gone past any power difference in some cases. The fact that there aren't any dealers in my area that service on site (2.2million population) suggests they don't take care of dealers like husky and stihl do.
I am getting ready to order the makita version over the dolmar. Is there anything that has changed with the newer makita labeled versions such as cheaper parts, outsourcing, etc. or is it the exact same as the older dolmar models? Is there any reason to stick with the dolmar models. Thank you
Thanks KimballCody. I just bought the Makita 5001 with 18 inch bar. I have never used a chainsaw before and have been watching video's. I am a landscaper and next week I am starting another job with and experienced tree trimmer so I'll see if he will help me out. Whats the best and safest way to start out? I assume with an experienced person teaching you and protection. Thanks
Hi from New Zealand. In the English Ebay site there are Dolmars selling cheaper than what I can get here. I see a English vendor selling 79 cc saws with heavy duty air filter boxes and heated grips and way cheaper than our ripoff merchants here whom sells only standard airbox and without heated grips. anyway I ordered a 79 cc orange Makita here for n.z.d $1200 odd bucks now im more gutted as I see on Trademe a near new 91(?) cc saw selling for $1100 as owner cannot handle grunt and weight.
Ioan Charger lots of mods can be done to the saw as well as the chain to give them a nice boost in power/cutting speed. The operator plays a large part as well.
Thanks for the review its fun to see any saw go head to head.
Dolkita wins! 😋
dolmar=makita
It’s the same saw
The makita is made for the South Pacific region
So this is a silly test
Wrong. Both made in Germany

Ya, he's right... Same saw.
I pick the dolmar purely because of the colour. That makita just cant get used to that colour.
@jeffrey edinger cool.
They are the same saw !!!
Was denn das für ein Vergleich? Beide sägen kommen aus einer Herstellung.
👍👍👍
versus SOLO 7910. they both sound killer
+john reilly your stuff is amazing. When the Makita rings seat in I'll post another video.
All 3 are the same saw same cases shit even interchangeable parts
Do you also do tests of red ad blue cars of the same model?
🤣
Так а че тут сравнивать они одинаковые только цвет пластика разный
Dolmar kettensage the besst
Тут выбор между оранжевым и зелёным ,и всё.
💯👌💪

Same exact saw. Both made in Germany and all parts are interchangeable

Sigmund619 safety first. Chaps and eye wear. Start cutting on the ground. Learn how the saw kicks back. And take your time
Thanks so much KimballCody. I appreciate your response.

How it can be modded?
KimballCody what's done on it.

Makita owns dolmar.
