I just learned that Makita stopped production of all gas powered chainsaws. That is a crying shame that the Dolmar heritage comes to an end.

It makes me sick, I owned 3 Dolmar's for 25+ years, 111i, PS-5105 and a Dolkita 5000 (bought last October)!! Simply the best!! A great run!!

If we stop buying their products, they will eventually be forced to start making gas powered saws again. Its a political agenda that will work as long as people adapt and buy their electric bs. Look at chevy.... stopping the production of the V8 camaros to make an electric model. I hope they fall flat on their face while ford shines with their new 5.0 mustangs.

Back in the 80's i acquired a Dolmar when I lived in Germany. That thing was a 120cc beast of a saw. It had a solid tip bar on it with a 404 chain. It was around the 36" and heavy as a train. I only got that out of the vehicle when I was in big hard wood.

With gas chainsaws, it's just the color. The gaschainsaws with the designation Makita are all manufactured by Dolmar in Germany. In 1991 Makita bought Dolmar so they started re-branding the saws. Unfortunately in march 2022 Dolmar stopped manufacturing gas powered chainsaws.

I have almost got killed by a tree 4 years ago! Was cutting dead standing fire wood brought my kid with me was making sure she was safe as well as doing the same for myself two dead 60 foot fir branch end hardly touching each other the tree I was falling was holding the top 1/3 of the other tree up it was completely rotten all the way threw! As the tree I was falling left perfectly right where I wanted it was watching it go and the other tree was to my back I saw shadows start to move! As the tree I fell hit the ground I took one big leap and that top of the other tree smashed into the ground right where I was just standing a moment ago! I was lucky I saw it just in time and it was only because I was looking up with two tight crowns! If not I most likely would have died right in front of my daughter!🥵 I don’t ever go in half cocked cutting trees like that especially dead standing trees!
