And so we begin our new horror journey! This episode feels like a slow build up to what scares are to come.. it took it easy on me but, I have a feeling next time I won’t be so lucky! So far we have learned that our wife Mia has been missing for years and we’ve gone to Louisiana to save her! (Though if I was him I would have called the cops XD) Oh Mia Mia.. Creepy Mia.
I really appreciate you playing scary horror games even though you get freaked out by them. Hopefully, you'll like it
The graphics are actually some of the best I've seen in a game. They are very photo-realistic. In terms of you feeling weird, Ethan controls in a realistic manner, so as you move, his head sort of bobs like it would in real life.
There are many items and things to find that will help you out as you progress, so just be sure to look thoroughly everywhere, as some items are very well-hidden. The flashlight is automatic and will turn on and off accordingly. Some items you find cannot be picked up and are just there to be inspected or looked at for context or thematic tension. There will be documents you can find that you will pick up and then have to press X in order to read when the option is highlighted. Pressing X to read it will give you a more clean text to read instead of trying to read the grimy and dirty notes scattered about. Of course, sometimes the print is just not large enough to read them without pressing X.
Yeah, most Resident Evil games have manual save points like that, although in past games it's usually a typewriter that requires an ink ribbon in order to function. I do know that on the Madhouse Difficulty for this game (basically hard mode, which is unlocked if you beat the game), the cassette players require cassette tapes in order for you to actually use them, making it harder to save your game.
Regarding the VCRs and VHS tapes you find; they are largely used to give you more context about the current situation. You control the person in the VHS tapes you find and throughout it, you will gain context clues and hints about how to progress the game forward again when you revert to playing as Ethan once more. Watching and playing through most of the tapes is entirely optional and ultimately up to you though.
By the way, that dead person in the water; that was Andre.
Yeah, they said she was missing for three years in the beginning cutscene.
This was a great video. I'm so excited for the next episode! You're playing the game just fine and at your own pace. The camera is fine to me, but I don't speak for anyone else. Keep up the great work Marz! :)
i remember getting a little motion sickness from this game but it completely went away after disabling the head bob and increasing the acceleration speed i think. The sensitivity is fine.
lol you're doing just fine. Keep going.
Marz,
I wish you luck with Resident Evil 7. In comparison to the recent Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 7 goes in the direction of the original Resident Evil games with the emphasis on puzzles and story. Your in for a ride with this game. As you realized in this game, the beginning of the game slowly builds up to what is to come. Here are some tips I recommend in Resident Evil:
- Keep on the lookout for green bottles for health for the next part and beyond
- Ammo for weapons are scarce in this game, make every shot count
- Use the knife instead of firearms to conserve ammo (Knife will be acquired later in the game)
- With any evidence, make sure to rotate that evidence
- The rooms with the save points will be your friend. In addition to having a save point, there is also there chest to store items when your inventory gets full. (Accessed soon in the next part of game)
- Keep on the lookout for the vhs tapes and vhs players as they will be helpful for other parts of the game.
- WIthin the vhs, pay attention to the conversations with relation to the story.
- When chased by monsters for later on in the game, be sure to close the doors behind you to buy some time.
Ya'know what's funny? Back then gamer's would be scared like - "i hope i can reach a savepoint soon" Nowadays - "Oh god, why's it autosaving?!" Back then - "i don't think i'll have enough ammo to get through this" Nowadays - "i don't like that there's suddenly so much supplies, what are they loading me up for?"
Oh you should definitely check every corner, this game rewards you for checking behind every little thing and examining every item/picture you find. Much like until dawn with the clues, here you can figure out some plot elements before they're revealed which is always so satisfying when it happens
Lufgug
I love that you say "stop" every time you get scared. It's so adorable.
26:35
*dead Andre appears*
Marz: *Pats his head*
Lol I saw that too
Honestly, when you first get to the first door from behind the house, where everything turns dark, that moment always gets everybody hesitant
Yay just came back from work to see this is out and now I can watch and relax ☺️ considering my headaches are bad today so it's just nice to chill now!
Horror + Headaches = Bliss XD
@@Marzz hi bubby
Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds. That should help with your heart rate! Lol but more importantly, take a confident stance because you’re a real champ for giving this game a go!
I prefer a more extreme approach. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold.
Hi! :)
Just found your channel and I really like it! I subbed!
Exited to see more!
This game is more nerve wracking than most horror movies out there today. Brilliant game.
26:20 "That was the first real jump scare that I had". .. Watched the next few seconds at least ten times. Classic lol.
You've earned a new subscriber! XD It was definitely fresh to see someone play at their own pace and not rush things out like the big UA-camrs. However, really looking forward for the next part really soon.
TheMysteriousP I see you play uncharted, very cool!
Yeah, that game's always been a passion for me to play with ;D
I'm looking forward to this playthrough (mwuahaha).
To put your mind (a bit) at ease, many of the sounds you hear around you are just your character bumping into things.
Thanks for being brave for us! It's a great game.
I'm giving you a sub for having the balls to play this game. I just barely beat it and it's soooooo fucking scary I'm looking up people reacting to playing it. Never been a scarier gaming experience ever.
"There's a lot of bugs through here" she says as she strolls through a Louisiana swamp. 😂
😊
I love how Marz tells the spooky noises to stop lol
Crush lmfao
@@anggacorey I'd say I'm an admirer
I just began watching this playthrough today because i really like this game and i really like seeing other people play it, it's fun.
It gets easier to continue playing it. My first playthrough was terrifyingly hard for me in the first hour. The story is pretty awesome.
Yes! Good luck Marz, will support u throughout the series. And yes, there's stuff to pick up so be checking every corner.
Respect for playing this haaa feels like the most intense resident evil game out of all of them. Amazing sound design too. I haven't been keeping up with this franchise, but I love the vibes.
I've been watching your channel for some time, you're pretty cool on your reactions to the games. I like that you decided to challenge yourself with games like Resident Evil 7. Much respect and keep being cool. :).
I really enjoyed the slower pacing of this play through. Your fixation on exploration was a highlight of SotC. Even though most walkthroughs I've seen go well beyond this point, the mood felt creepier and more immersive. I tend to skip ahead in other RE7 playthroughs, but you make watching the whole episode fun. Looking forward to the rest!
You are doing great! There are little rewards that can benefit a slower, observational pace, but going faster is fine too, can make the game feel more intense. I think whatever feels most natural for you.
The recording save system is very similar to older games method of saving using typewriters. In the first few Resident Evil games, typewriters would often be in relatively safe zones, because of the nature of saving in a video game, and would also often have its own accompanying music theme. Since Resident Evil games, are tense and scary, its also lead to many gamers who fondly remember the safety and security of the "save game" music. I have the original RE save music on my Ipod, its so soothing!
Hope you feel better soon, I am ill too, its not fun.
Awh nice! Definitely, they are very calming and soothing pieces. I was surprised how many other people out there like them as much as myself, and glad too, your routine sounds really nice. I like listening to them when I draw, very good tunes for imagination.
Thanks for the pick me up today, Marz. Needed it. Hope the next ep comes out before I sleep. You're doing good. I wouldn't say hug every wall and check every single nook and cranny for items. Yes, there are hidden items everywhere, but I think it's better for you overall to just go with the flow while keeping in mind you'll need to search in order to survive. The game is pretty sound when it comes to giving you directions on how to behave, so just trust your instincts! When you have time to breathe though, be sure to explore more and walk around. The environment tells the story in this one maybe more than anything else quite frankly, and although it ain't pretty, it is interesting!
Here we go indeed. Hope you enjoyed the chilli!
The older RE's utilized typewriters. This one uses recorders to save data.
you have no idea how much I love watching people play a game I beat and seeing their reactions!!! I’m so excited to watch your whole playlist!
I hope you like the experience. You never know, but you may end up liking horror games. Nothing wrong with feeling tension or dread while playing. It just means the game is doing its job and if it gets too horrifying just remember that it's a game at the end of the day.
I just started to play this yesterday. Good luck for both of us!
Yes! Tag along with me! Let us suffer together XD
What I like most about your videos, is the fact that you really get involved with the story of the game!!! Taking scares, in the scary moments of the game, for me, makes your gameplay even better, because you are a human being and not a robot !!! People who play any style of game, without showing any reaction, makes the video very annoying !!! I'm very much your fan !!! 👍👍👍👍
This is gonna be the best walkthrough ever 😂
"Nothing scary so far"
(Cricket chirps)
"WHAT WAS THAT SOUND?"
I knew this channel through this video, and I loved it, your sincere facial expressions and your beauty enchanted me, and since you had not played this video game before, your true impressions were noticed and they were great. I'm a new fan of yours.
Greetings from Mexico!
Hey Marz, some massive tips with zero spoilers:
As others have said, search everywhere, but really think outside the box. This house you're in right now doesn't have much to look for, but the next location onwards does, and those items will really help you. For instance, if there's a picture frame taken off the wall, resting on the ground, check behind it. If there's a bush that looks like a boundary, walk through it. If there's a vase, pick it up and look inside. Really look everywhere for stuff. It'll keep you alive.
Another thing is do not forget your block! Many people, myself included, completely forgot about the block for most of their first playthrough, or felt that Ethan's bare arms were logically useless against certain attacks - don't forget it! Block as much as you can. It's better than nothing! Also don't forget to crouch during an enemy attack! This can often times be better than blocking as certain enemy attacks will miss completely if you simply use a well timed crouch (enemy attacks in this game are mostly pretty slow, telegraphed even, so you're ok there).
Your R1 button is an auto-heal button. It's great to remember it's there instead of using the D-Pad or inventory to manually select first aid, as it's much faster. On the other hand, be conscious not to hit it by accident, when not needed!
Speaking of which, because auto heal is R1, you don't need healing items on your 4 DPad slots. You should save those for weapons later.
Also, a bit of a trick. When you heal, you'll see an animation of Ethan pouring out one of those bottles on himself. Same with reloading, you see an animation. Common sense, right? Well, if you're in the middle of a fight and the enemy is still around, if you start reloading your gun and then block before the reload animation is finished, it will cancel your reload unfortunately and your gun will still be empty. Makes sense. Conversely however, on a positive note, if you heal, and then need to block an attack before the healing bottle animation has finished, you will still be healed. It's a bit of a RE7 life hack. Heal, then hit the block straight after, and it means you don't need to wait for the healing animation to finish, but you're still healed. So you can basically block straight away if you need to after healing because you're still mid-fight.
Even if you're not in a fight, just tap block after healing and release straight away. It makes things quicker. Just doesn't work with gun reloads unfortunately.
It's like going back to the house from your childhood like 15 years later.
Your braver than me 😊 looking forward to seeing you play this game as I can’t haha
Watching you play this game is hilarious! I don’t know how you’re going to make it through this game cause I almost had a heart attack. I might need to call my doctor lol 😂
The part where she’s on the stairs scared me to death
I love everything about MARZ, she plays her games the right way, she’s very cute and the way she talks , is just like so authentic and just cute lol
I agree but wdym “the right way”? Just curious
@@kooshamokhbery3581 she plays it the right way what you dont understand ?
@@Nichwar19 It’s not that I don’t understand lmao…. I asked because everyone has their own opinion on “the right way”. Personally I love seeing the people I admire on UA-cam play their own way, especially without fans saying they wish they “played the right way”.
I agree mostly with "authentic". No such thing as "the right way" tho. To each their own.
Saving in the original RE games consisted of a safe room, a Typewriter, which you needed ink ribbons or you couldn't save, and an inventory chest. No check points or auto saving in the classics lol. The best thing to do when playing a RE game is to take your time, breath and investigate what shown.
I feel you in a big way at the start when you first go in the house. The first time I played the demo I freaked myself out in the kitchen because I was kicking stuff around without realizing it. I almost lost it!
UA-cam just recommended me this video out of no where...I guess I'll stick around and watch lol.
This is going to be very interesting reaction and a funny one too.
Technically she was babysitting. Just high risk babysitting.
Marz horror playthroughs are the best. Her reactions are genuine.
Hahhaha her scared face is soo cute omggg i almost feel bad for her
You’re playing another main character named Ethan. Lol
And you just made the same correlation! I commented too early. :P
Derpdad conspiracy confirmed!
Marz Yup! Lol I just finished, great episode. :)
I have one tip, if you haven’t figured it out already, you don’t need to put health items in the quick access slots. The game has a button already dedicated to health items, it’s R1 I think!
And both are trying to save someone they love :-)
LOL It's my first time watching these kinds of videos and, am I allowed to say your jump-scare episodes are super adorable?? LOL!
No
A genuine experience through a very difficult walk-through with Christine, better known as Marz. It's a shared experience with real time frustration and exhilaration all the way through. Her pure and unfettered emotion make the experience of Resident Evil 7 all the more effective in its impact. ...........I am very impressed.
Hi Christine, glad you're about to play this awesome game. Looking forward to your new videos!
Honestly the first hours are quite intense, even for an experienced, veteran Resident Evil player, but you will gradually ease into it and once you start getting some good artillery you start to feel safer...
Poor Marzter. You will be cursing us for sure before long I am thinking:) The sensitivity and lighting is fine btw, whatever makes u more comfortable. Your doing great! Cheers!
This is one of my favorite games, and being new to the page this was the perfect way to reel me in. Love the content, and playthrough. Can't wait to see more of this. Another series I highly recommend for horror playthroughs is the outlast series. Would love to see you do a playthrough of those. They're very very intense.
Chris White yes THANKS I want her to do outlast sooo much 😭😭😭
Cool content, hope ur channel grow a lot!
Oh Marz senpai, here we go. Goodluck my girl haha keep up the great work 💪
That she is a ninja lol
Game: Tries it's hardest to scare you with music, ambient and jumpscares....
Marz: "That's a butt!"
I was so pleasantly surprised by this game. It has this classic horror element to it. The creepy setting, the creepy small details, the creepy acting, the creepy sounds, the creepy atmosphere. Everything is just creepy. Genuinely. I've watched maybe four Let's Plays of this game and the first time it scared me so badly. Hell, even now I'm spooked. It has that rawness that I like; the haunting feel that gets under your skin. I love that they went back to the roots of horror. I won't spoil the game, but trust me: this is just the introduction. No joke. It gets so much scarier. This is just a taste; a warm up. Fatastic game.
I don't scare easy but this game got a few yells outta me. Lol
Yep, when you scare yourself with your own hands, it's time to take a break!
Now how come this Ethan didn't report this to the police. 3yrs is a long friggin time. Had she even been reported missing at all prior? Just the way he reacted to her contacting him after all those years was sorta nonchalant like. Weird...
And hope you don't catch a cold Marz. Feel better.
"she's back she's ALIVE" he sounded a little nuts and separated from reality. like bitch, your girl has been missing for 3 years, you should be having a heart attack or be super pissed that she ditched you.
What a cliffhanger ending to the episode; looking forward to more. Poor Andre, he's been swimming under that stairwell for a while it seems. Feel better!
I'm SO EXCITED! My favorite Let's Player playing my favorite Let's Play game!! You're the best! I will be anxious awaiting each and every episode with bells on. 😍
Sometimes you need to let a game hold your hand and guide you through it. It's all part of the show. No need to try and rush passed everything.
Just stumbled upon your channel through a UA-cam recommendation. I'm so excited. I've been dying to find another gamer to watch. I'll definitely be binge watching what you have so far on the channel. ^_^
I can't wait for the RE Village
Yay meow yay anime awesome
Have already seen other youtubers go through the game, but everyone has their own play style for games so i'm really gonna have fun watching your let's play of it. I also enjoyed part 1 of Resident Evil 8 you did. :)
My tip would be to always search draws, cupboards, cabinets etc. Alot of the time you'll find health, bullets and all sorts tucked away :) Great first video though!
Watching this series again in preparation for Village. Lesgooooo!
You are awesome 😎 I love you playing these games because horror games are 😟
This’ll be...interesting. I love this game!
Was looking for different Resident Evil 7 playthroughs and stumbled upon your channel! I'd say you're doing great so far!
I'm so happy that you will be playing one of my favorite franchises. 😊😊😊
Damn I love watching people play this game. It's such a great game. And I say that hating the fact that it's first person lol. It's still great.
Ok
What is happening??? STOP!!!!!!!!😂😂👍👍
Graphically the game looks perfect....!
Hi, here in Hungary (where the salary is low) people often go to Austria or other Countries for any Job ... for example babysitting where they get tripple money :D
Good gameplay, thanks!
Good luck playing this, a tip I would suggest is to definitely search everything, there's a lot of hidden items & clues you can miss if you just walk passed it. The sensitivity seems fine to me but if it bothers you then maybe play around with different settings until you find the one that's right for you. For the glare I would suggest maybe some darker curtains or even just hanging up a sheet or a blanket while you record if you don't want it peramently dark in your room
Not only is this a great game, it's also funny to watch people play it ahaha!
@38:10 that was a helluva jumpscare hahahah
Lmao, you were petrified. Bloody scary game.
33:28 omg loooooooooooooooool
Marz, admit it, you're obsessed with butts aren't you? Ha ha. This game builds up to the scares then drops them on you, leaving you to fight the nasties in a blind panic. It's fun to watch - I imagine it's hell to play, I never did. Hope you enjoy it as much as we all enjoy watching.
Respect the camera guy!!!😃
Already jumping into RE7, I was expecting another day or so. What a nice surprise. Camera and everything looked good to me. I never got around to playing this game either, so this should be fun to experience it as you play it. Hope ya feel better and have fun in the next gameplay.
Hi! Interesting choice of game, I thought you would choose one more relaxing, but I see that you continue with adrenaline rush xD Something that bothers me about this game is the reaction of Ethan throughout the story, you will see with the passage of the chapters that, as happened in this video, he always seems more boring than anything else, and never seems to show even the slightest sign of appreciation and attachment to Mia, who has been missing for 3 years :P I warn you that the game is very intense, but not so much for having jumpscares, but for its ambience and psychological terror that it has. In that sense, it looks a lot like the first Resident Evil of the saga. You will find many enemies and little ammunition, so whenever you can, run and do not waste bullets. Remember to search well for all corners, since you can always find materials to make ammunition and cure, or elements to solve puzzles. A very important tip: if you start shooting an enemy, make sure to shoot him in the head (that will kill them faster) and kill them all in that area, because if you shoot them and you don't leave without finishing killing them all, they will respawn and you will only waste ammunition.Remember, stealth can be your best friend in most situations, do not fight or waste ammunition unless absolutely necessary ;) That's all from me, I hope you enjoy it and don't panic too much! See ya later, stay awesome!!!
Paolo Bs I hope she reads your comment because it's very important that she understands not to waste ammo and to always save.
I hope I hope so too xD
I'll try to remember these tips lol In a panic I just know it's all going to fly out the window! I will try!
hahahaha I trust you fully, I know you will do it wonderfully ^^
I had no ammo through out my playthrough because im stupid lol
I wish I knew how important it was to conserve ammo before I played. I got stuck on many parts
Yaaaaaaaaasssssssss Marz, thank you! You are the best!
26:29 I was soooo waiting for the moment hahaha sorrryy xx
PS.: Deserved subscribed :)
I hate getting enjoyment out of watching you get scared 😂 Loved the first vid though & cant wait for you to continue. Feel better ✌️
Glad you chose normal difficulty. Hard is unlocked after completion. Normal is challenging enough. Be sure to check every nook and cranny. And as always, you're a joy to watch. Marry me x
ps: People seem to be recommending Outlast. Try the critically acclaimed Amnesia: The Dark descent. It has more more meat to its bone than Outlast. Outlast is popcorn jumpscares throughout. Amnesia has puzzles and atmosphere.
Boogie Man SOMA much better than Amnesia tho.
Her name is Marz and she looks really similar here to Marzia
The game really start it when you down the stairs... Good luck ❤️, and I think the medicine can be use with a special bottom, you don't need to use one of the four fast access, I think you are in a PS4 so must be R1, but don't prove it right now 👌😂
Oh yeah, dis gon' be good! As for the save system, it's definitely a call back to the original RE games that used typewriters to save your progress. Once you beat the game once, it unlocks a harder difficulty where you have to use cassette tapes to save, so their are limited manual saves. I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction to the rest of it. It's a great game!
This game scared me like I never experienced before 😂😂
Awesome
Man am I glad you are playing this masterpiece! Kudos for overcoming your fears and doing this. It's really worth it :)
Marz looks so tense on these games lol
YEAAAAAH! you wont get scared to much :)
I've just started playing this game and I haven't felt this nervous since I started playing Alien Isolation 😅
scariest game i ever played!
