- There are a LOT of different ways to use charcoal for drawing! Here are the ones I use and how.

how do you get the pencil tip to sharpen in that shape ??

I use a razor to expose more of the tip and then sandpaper it into a bullet shape.

I had gotten willow charcoal sticks and now I know what to use them for thank you they've been sittin in the box not being touched since I got them so this was really useful to know what to do with them now

You can make charcoal by putting wooden planks in a furnace with an oak log as fuel. It’s a cheaper way to make torches without having to mine.

I cant use charcoal because of my sensory issues but it always looks so cool
When I sharpen my 2mm lead I put the graphite shavings in a tiny container. Works great for quick gestures where you want to capture the lighting as well as the gesture. Love all you people that use ash and graphite to do amazing things 😊

Since I have been watching prokotv videos on art (along with other’s videos) I have been wanting to go back and do what enjoyed when I was young. Honestly I wanted to work for DC and Marvel. Such were the silly fantasies of a child, right? (I won’t get to reasons why I stoped. Not relevant). Have you seen the 1st team up between Spider-Man and Superman released in 1976? I drew that at home. I saw and I drew. No tracing whatsoever. It was just the characters and the top portion of the Empire State Building. It was my favorite work. I did allot of freehand from imagination as well mind you. Now, at my age, when I make the attempt to draw anything it sucks. I sound like a whiner I’m sure.

When I was in grade 7, I took art as one of my subjects, I wish I knew they sold white & black only colour pencils because I brought 4 colour pencils for a year just because I ran out of white and black colour 😢

We had to do a full artwork in willow, dark lines and all, and it kept smudging, and i told my tracher and she said putting the immage over it before i put it in the pile would protect it and it didn't, it was so annoying ahving to constantly redo the trees and dark areas

Once I tried a 5min craft video that made an air filtration mask with a bottle, cotton pads screwed in the lid and charcoal powder in between. Well I tried taking a breath and choked on the charcoal. Never got near 5min crafts or charcoal tablets ever again 😂

THEY DO WIPE OFF REAL EASY i had a drawing class and we were using the soft vine charcoal and my darks would not get dark bc i kept lifting it everytime i touched the paper. came out nice tho

My types of charcoal: none, I don't use any j prefer a single mechanical pencil
