Being a 33 year old self taught artist i sometimes have my doubts, but you have opened my eyes to Beksinski and now this man,IT CAN BE DONE, thank you very much!!
Same! I haven't started picking up a paint brush but this channel too has opened my eyes to pursue it even though I'm nearing my 30s and have a long way to go when it comes to art. It was a childhood dream that I regret not pursuing. I hope your art journey has been going well.
I give you a ton of credit, man, for the awesome UA-cam channel AND trying to tackle Portuguese as well. That's not exactly the easiest language to learn, and I think it's super awesome that you're trying your best to really communicate with your girlfriend's family. Thanks again for a deeply interesting video. I really look forward to seeing these, as I have little time to appreciate art the way I'd like to being a full-time student and working full-time, too. So thanks very much, and good luck with the Portuguese too!
I am in a very “hard science” career path, and just watching how the artists display their experiences and emotion in such compelling and unique ways feels like a breath of fresh air. Keep up the great work!
as a dental assistant, i agree! my work is purely technical and void of creative output. art is my hobby, and i used to do a lot of it when i had more free time. the more i watch his stuff the more inspired i feel to take a stab at some paper
As an artist who deals with trauma in a multitude of artistic mediums (clothing, dolls, three dimensional pieces, paintings/sketches), this channel has been a godsend. This story really struck me, not only visually but emotionally. Fernando truly has a way with the brush or the pencil, depending on the medium. It’s astounding to me the ability and diversity to capture the most intangible emotions and dreams or even nightmares. I love this channel and I love these artists. Please never give up on this passion!
I just discovered this channel a few days ago. LET ME TELL YOU, THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST CHANNEL ON YOU TUBE RIGHT NOW ❤ All the content is so awesome, this is YT was made for. Congratulations and thanks from Mexico. Suerte con tu español y tu portugués!

I really loved Fernando's Paradise. The lighting is incredible, it has a dream like quality about it and feels very eerie yet serene and gave me a feeling I'm having trouble articulating at the moment but I liked it.
I can't believe you're able to make such rich videos on artists and art in general so consistently WHILE ALSO making all of the music. You are easily my favorite youtuber right now, cheers. Keep going
The disfigured paints actually hitted me a lot. They really portrayed the sensation of looking back at what was your relationship with someone and suddenly seeing all the red flags, the silent allarms... and suddenly even the good memories are not so good anymore. It is really sad but happens a lot when a relationship ends. Thanks for your work. I followed Fernando on Instagram and love his art. (Also English is not my first language. Sorry if I made some mistakes)
Wow. Yet again more art I've already fallen in love with here. I'll be visiting both artists' pages to appreciate them both even more I have the feeling. Thank you Blind Dweller for all you do!
I absolutely loved this video. These artworks are powerful & expressed truely relatable feelings & thoughts. Thank you for your efforts & putting in the time to contact the artist & share his story
These are really rad! I love Fernando's style, especially the narrative behind his art. Very moving, very powerful. Very authentic! -- I also love that you plan to touch upon the concept of what makes something "pretentious" in art in the future. It's something that I think is harder to portray or discuss from the actual work itself, and comes up more around the discourse surrounding the work whether it be from the artist themselves or the community it was "meant" for. I think art is art and is created from a place of deep vulnerability and sometimes those emotions and feelings can only be expressed in a way that reads as trite or obnoxious when from the creator's perspective it was a very real and deep moment for them. And of course, anyone trying to create something that is not "clone art" as you said is going to be doing something different and treading new and uncharted waters, so it's tougher for a "critic" or a fan to take it at face value. I fall into the same process as well, but sometimes the first thing we think when we look at art is, "who is this person trying to emulate" or "who was this inspired by". Sometimes it's neither, sometimes it's nothing. And in that new space, I think we can sometimes mistake an attempt at recreating an influence as a failure instead of taking the time to see it with new eyes. Excited to see your take on it!! Love the channel, man. Thank you for sharing!
The defaced portraits were so poignant in how it captures an abusive, scary, narcissitic significant other. An empty infantile shell in the form of an adult containing your sadistic demise.
As a dark surrealist artist i can't begin to explain to you how excited i get to see your videos, i am so happy someone is doing in depth video essays exploring dark and outsider art. i feel like my heart and ideas have been domesticated by making art for money for many years and using mainly social media, there is soooo much pressure to conform and not be myself, and id be lying if it didnt effect my brain. Seeing these vidoes and such personal artists perspectives is really giving me creative juices to try and heal from my personal life trauma through art and not hold myself back so much. thank you for all the hard work you do putting these together-also aleksandra waliszewska is my favorite person to follow on instagram, if anyone reading this wants to check out another blind dweller video next, that artist is really amazing. THANK YOu!!!
Have you seen the works of Ressendi since you have ties to the Iberian peninsula? If you haven't, He was a very dark Spanish painter with heavy influence from gypsy culture, bull fighting, and Spain's entertainment industry in general, portraying the dark behind scenes of such, which is usually believed to be full of glamour by those foreign to it.
hey blind dweller! I love your videos, you made me grow an interest in art, i never thought i could be so much passionated about some dark paintings. That's why i want to suggest you an interesting artist to show in a future video. He's name is Cao Hui and is style in my opinion is very unique, it'll be interesting to see you analize some of his paintings
that painting of his daughters behind the glass door really got me. it makes you feel like you’re there and it feels horrible. like guilt and fear and helplessness. it so perfectly communicates what he was going through at that time. he also has a great grasp on pretty difficult techniques!!!
the empty canvas instantly reminded me of Fellini's 8 1/2, profound and deeply relatable for every creative voice. apart from the gut wrenching story behind the light bulb, i think it also beautifully symbolises the absence of ideas - like the complete opposite of how the bulb is used in old cartoons whenever someone has this 'eureka' moment. We just need to be patient for the electricity of a new idea to kick in and fire a light in our eyes and soul to create and make tangible that what is in our head.
Hey, I am so happy about this canal. Thank you for support all this amazing artist. You know Julia Soboleva? Her art is so special. Maybe you like her works and make a video about her. Nice greetings
Love to hear the story behind paintings and art in general. I am an artist myself and I've had this feeling for a while, a feeling that my works are impersonal. I've been tormented by my own thoughts since I was a child, but I've stopped putting them on paper a few years ago. Your channel is motivating me to do that again, so I can feel connected to my art like I used to. Keep up the great videos!
I want to thank you for doing this channel. I’ve always been into art but didn’t know the best way to view it, especially the scarier stuff. Your videos delve into the exact kind I’m into. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love Giga’s and Munch’s. The dreams of Yuko Tatsushima is the stuff of nightmares but that’s what I love about it. Can’t wait to see more!
I would love it if you did a video on Zdzislaw Beksinski, I think you would really love his work, you probably know him already. You go into so much detail and i think Beksinski would be a great artist to tackle, seeing as he never gave explanation for any of his paintings.
Never got into art myself and always had a hard time connecting to it personally, but your detailed descriptions and own PoV's help me as an art kretin to at least understand some expressions the artist tries to convey. Thank you for that effort.
Came here after thoroughly enjoying your series on Bacon and I'm so glad! I find Fernando's paintings incredibly moving and I would love to see more. Have you / would you consider doing something on Zdzisław Beksiński?

Another really amazing video,It's really apparent how your reaching out to the artists you share with us,really forms the basis of these videos, your very real sense of connection to them and the empathy and respect you have for them and their work too. Showing a darker side to the human experience through art is realy enlightening. But it's not done in a scary way but in a very indepth and ver human and grounded way. But I think being an artist yourself it gives you a real affinity to the artists you share with us. I can really realte to the emotional intansity of Fenando's paintings, and felt a sense of recognition in some of his paintings too,and I sense this may hapen for you as you are looking into their work as you create these videos to share witth us.Living with sometimes debilitating mental health issues makes the world a very differnt place to be in for a lot of people. But as an artist myself I'm grateful to have the ability to use my creativity to address and portray thins and let them go.I wonder if in the future you would consider putting a book together of all thae art and artists you share with us,because I think it would be a really compelling and inspiring book to read and to look through exploring as you so brilliantly phrase it looking at the darker forms of expression in art. (matt) P.s good luck with learning Portuguese am sure you wil find a way to be fluent in a way that works for you.
It would be awesome if you were to establish a list of links to purchase work by the artists you feature. Especially or specifically maybe to the ones featured on artist corner.

@@zyrahanne2103 Id say it has meaning because you like it. Ig art with no meaning would be art solely made to make a profit? Cuz that way there's no emotion in it at all, no "this is pretty" or "i want to draw this", just a product
@@zyrahanne2103 I use art in a very therapeutic way. Three days in babel
Living in the shadows
I was
Lost in my travels
Leaning against the rain
Trying to wash out all the pain I keep feeling
Rubbery cold and numb
I dance on for now
Always
Playing it dumb
Twisting and turning
With My disguises already chosen
Even remembering the lies I have told them
Again and again
I am that
forsaken man that have chosen
Laid
Broken and stolden
Like blood on the ground that's been forgotten
PS
(That's what I saw
And felt
Very compelling artist
I thanks you for your great spill on him)
