I miss the 7" and 13" models. The 13 is perfect for putting on the end of kitchen counters in a corner to have a nice central place to view all your cameras. The 7 worked really nice as a desktop display over on the side of a desk showing 1-2 priority camera feeds like the doorbells.
Same, I was waiting for them to come out of beta so I could get one. The 7" would be perfect to put beside me front door with the door camera on it. I tried to set something up with an old tablet but it never worked great.
I'll wait until the display is available again in the EU shop, then I'll order it and print my own wall mount with a 3D printer. The prices that UI charges for the various mounts are cheeky.
This is actually a pretty cool device. I’ve been thinking of getting it and loading the moonlight app and use it as a multipurpose display. I’m not sure what the refresh rate is on it, but with moonlight I could easily run windows, Mac, and even IOS and Android apps on it pretty easily.
@@ethanberg1 I forgot my EFG didn't have connect.. so when I tried to test at home I couldn't. I am testing another router that supports connect and I will test HA at home once I have that up and running..
Nice review , I want something like that in the front of the door for the kids to see who outside , but need smaller version like 13 inch or less , I hope it will arrive at some point
I do wish the 27" version was still available. Would make for a nice screen to mount on my wall next to my desk at work for the cameras around the building. The 22" just looks a bit too small when in Protect camera grid view.
Just a note, those little skinny network cables are evil in so many ways. They are way too small for shifting large amounts of PoE power and cause issues. Best left for short runs of data-only or very low powered PoE devices. I see these cables used in comms rack or server racks for patching and go through and bin them after having PoE problems.
@@bentheguru4986 they are all ubiquiti cables.. I never have had an issue. I have all different lengths of regular, etherlighting and new etherlighting 10g. No issues ever..
This is looks like a bigger and business compliant Pixel Tablet. I do find it a little ashame that Unifi doesn't give you the option to use it more like a normal Android tablet for the prosumers (ie. show the normal Android navigation bar & an app launcher) but it does one thing well & maybe done for compliance reason? Also can it run Doom?
@@Poorgeniu5 yeah, I think the point is to lock it down so that users cannot fiddle with it. I would love it to have an "admin" mode that would allow more control on the device..

I'd have a very difficult time justifying $699 USD for a 1920 x 1080 FHD (16:9), 250 nits display that doesn't include the stand. I'm a UniFi fan, been using them for years at home, recently spent $8k for UniFi gear at work. This is a money grab, plain and simple.
@@johnrhines3473 yeah I agree on one hand, on the other... You cant find a Poe powered 21" touchscreen display capable of running android apps... So... It depends
I remember that few months ago they had like smaller versions of this device (14" if I remember correctly). These were in EA stage and haven't reached the market since then. Do you know if there's a plan to release these again? 21" is too big :-(

Yeah, its size is probably the biggest negative (and positive) for this unit.. its awesome but it is bigger than many will want...

Same. Waiting for the 7 and 13. We could mont those outside of the exit doors that lead to the parking lot for night time safety
I was waiting so long for the 7 to come out of EA so I could grab one in Australia for cameras but they never came :(

I think I understand now why the EV Station Pro is a Unifi Connect product and what you could do with that screen.
Home Assistant is exactly the APK I was hoping someone would demo

I really wish Unifi would add Connect type functionality to the Intercom Viewer. Would be a perfect per-room POE panel for Home Assistant.
That would be cool!

Unfortunately no. Where we are putting it we have the door open button so it's not an issue, but that's a great question!

When using an android app does it support connecting to a bluetooth device? For example using the zettle pos app and the zettle bluetooth reader.
No :(
Would this run the Google home app?
If u can download the apk it should run..
