Energy Update #39 - Air Compressor Repair & Rebuild [Head Gasket]

- In this episode, I open some mail. I cut & install a new gasket on my air compressor. I rebuild the head of the motor and do a quick test to make sure everything is working properly and holding pressure.
The gasket was cut from a sheet of Fasit Omnia, which is a premium grade gasket material rated to 400˚C and 100 Bar.

Nice job! A sturdy gasket like that should last rest of the compressors life! I do like that tool you used to open up your package! Must beat using scissors or a knife blade!

I have a air compressor. The leaks alot of oil from the breather cap after reaching over 30 psi. Someone told me could be some of the piston rings. But I'm not sure. What do you think could be the problem?
I have a 22 gal air compressor gm5006 single stage (piston) when I purge it oil came out plus more oil coming out from the oil breather when the compressor hits like 20 psi. What could be the problem?
Mustang Shelby GT 500 SUPER SNAKE Too much oil perhaps. Check the sight glass. If the oil level is higher than the indicator, you have too much oil.
@@EnergyFabricator how much oil do i need to add? Someone told me it could be the piston rings. The oil comes out with alot of pressure. But if I put my finger works good at ceartain pressure..

you can simply paste it, has the 'dough joined motor' (if outside the cylinder / cylinder head stud).
How would shellac work on the gasket surface. Anyone tried this on a compressor rebuild, please tell us if it works.
It would melt under the heat...

Call local manufacturers and suppliers and ask for it. Eventually, you should get what you want :)
