- Sorry this video is late! August and September will also be pretty busy for me so I'll only be able to put out one video instead of two, but I hope this video will appease your anger. hahaha j/k j/k
The heat setting for your iron might vary according to your device or the thickness of your PVC fabric btw. So test it out first - You can't have crafting without trial and error, right?

in case anyone was wondering like i was, the vinyl reccomended in the video is the magic cover deluxe vinyl. the thickness is 12 gauge, so any clear 12 gauge vinyl should work the same
Thank you so much!! I was trying to find this info for somebody else, but.. I just had to give them a guess because I couldn't even find the same exact one on the Walmart website!
I like how it was wholesome and then I hear “ *to add stars and shit* “ and I was like “I like her”
lol that’s why I came to the comments, to see if I heard that right. Lol 😂
I like u too xD
Saaaame
Oh thank you god I heard it correctly
sameee
"I don't use orange stars because that shit is ugly" I DIED. That was so unexpected and candid
That's how I feel about orange candy. It's just nasty. Anything orange candy wise. Yuck!
I really adore how you just casually drop the “shit” in the vid so spot on ✌🏻👍🏻👏🏻 Thank you for this great tutorial 😊
thank you for watching! 😊
It made the whole video 10x better :-3 💜 lmaooo
it caught me off guard and made me cackle like a witch standing over her cauldron... bless
Good job giving credit to the original creators, I like it when people don't try to pass off ideas as their own
Can't wait to try this out! Love Studio Ghibli and want to make one for my car keys. If I'm good enough maybe make some for my friends too 💛
I love this!!!! So creative and very easy fun to do!!!

This is great!
thank you 🥰🥰😭
Absolutely love! I just discovered your channel and you're so inspiring. I love that you are frank also
thank you so much! 🥰
I don't think you need to give any credit for just the concept of a candy charm, I've had sooo much stuff like that growing up in Japan from the 90s. Only credit goes to Ghibli :)
Love your tutorial!!! 😻💖
I love you 😘
Thanks for your video. Pretty charm!
thank you so much! ^^
Ah thought I already subscribed to the channel. Great tutorial as usual!
thank you 😘
Great video, very descriptive! :)
love every video
This is so good!! I want to try it out in the future! T_T
If i could pìck one oerson on UA-cam to spend the day crafting with, it'd be you. No question.
" I'm not putting the orange stars in there cuz that shit's ugly."
I'm dying.
😭 we would probably get nothing done cuz we’d just be joking around the whole time 😂
@@Tomatoda totally acceptable. Memories trump things. :)
The orange stars were the prettiest.
So cute
yaaaaayyyy!
Wow! This is sooo cute😍😍hopefully I will give this a try when I’m back home! May I ask what the measurements of the template you used?
Thank you! My rectangle thingy is exactly 2 inches by 3.25 inches! but depending on how big or small your inserts are, you might need to adjust the size 😉
@@Tomatoda thank you!!
Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this! ❤️❤️❤️ I can't wait to make one myself!
Stupid question, if I use the hair straightener / flatiron and I accidentally melt the PVC fabric on the straightener, will it mess up the straightener? I wasn't sure if should buy one dedicated specifically for crafts, if I still use it for my hair! 😅
LOL that's a pretty legit question! The couple (maybe 5) times I melted the pvc kind of badly, it had easily peeled off! Thankfully 😆 But once it didn't peel off, so I turned off the straightening iron and waited for it too cool down. Then the pvc cleanly peeled afterwards. I'm not sure if it depends on your hair straightener, but I can't imagine it sticking to the iron imo....
You could use baking paper between the straighteners and plastic
this is a nice vidoe
Thank you for the tutorial, it's super cute!! I do have question, have you tried using impulse sealer to melt the pvc? I wonder if I should buy impulse sealer or hair straightener will do just fine 😅
honestly, I have no experience with an impulse sealer and I don't know much about them beside the fact that they seal plastic bags 😅 so I actually can't say. I like to use the hair straightener because I can control the heat setting.. and also use it for my hair. LOL But it sounds like you already have a hair straightener? so give that a go first. Sorry! I know this wasn't much help
"stars and shit" my kind of crafter :)
I love your tutorial, thank you so much for sharing! If we don't have PVC plastic (my Walmart sucks), can you recommend any other type of plastic to use? Thanks!
U can try checking Joanns Fabric if they have it too btw! But someone I know in the past use to use clear book covers for her charms, but it is thinner. You could also check out clear vinyl table cloth/covers :) They come folded in the packaging, but.. I think its actually the same thing?
That’s a whole lot of shits given right there. Haha. I love it!
thank you xD
This is so cute! I've been wanting to make shaker charms, but I didn't want to use any resin. 😭 This is a great alternative.
Do you happen to know if it's possible to put the washi tape inside of the PVC (before sealing with the iron), cut the edges for the candy wrapper look, and then melt the PVC afterwards?
I haven't! but it sounds like something that would definitely be possible! I'd also imagine you'd have to really really seal the the bottom and top of the washi tape well for it to stay in place. Let me know the results if you ever give it a try!
I didn’t not know Walmart sold the plastic. Ty.
Glad it helped 🥰
hi! this video was so helpful!! where can i actually order custom acrylic charms? i want to make a candy bag with charms of my favorite youtubers.
What u gonna put in your shaker?
IDK Stars n shit
"stars and shit.. just not the orange ones bc they're ugly and shit" roflmao isn't she the best!? 🤣
We could sell charms we make with this method correct? I know some designers and companies are pick like that
Yes u can!!!
What is the metal thing you use to help flatting it
It looks like a clay blade/tissue blade ☺️
where did you get the stars?
Somewhere on Etsy. I don’t remember the store though. Sorry. It was a long time ago
Does nail polish remover with acetone in it work the same as pure acetone?
I'm sure it does. nail polish remover is the same thing as acetone, but just not AS strong as the pure one? so give it a try! :)
@@Tomatoda thanks :)
@@LPSMelli no prob ;)
Hey!!! :DDD I was wondering what vinyl to buy, considering my Walmart doesn’t sell it... I’m looking on Amazon. Do you have any recommendations? Also, I keep seeing these vinyl tablecloth sheets that might work. What do you think? (Also, I don’t want to damage my hair straightener, so could I use a parchment paper or foil to protect the straightener when doing the heat melting step?)
hi! there's a pinned comment about the vinyl and the size. I feel like vinyl tablecloths would be too thick.. but as I dont have actual experience with it, I'm not too sure 🤔 I think you can give foil a try because there could be possibility the parchment paper would stick or it would hinder the heat? 😬 I cant give you a for sure answer to these questions tho because I haven't tried them out myself 😅 sorry
@@Tomatoda Hey! I just bought actual 12 gauge. Can you do a tutorial on how to plan making canes? I’m new to polymer clay and I’d love to know how to plan and make canes properly.
@@tocci750 I think that’s a pretty good idea! I won’t be able to make a video on it till June or July tho, but I’ll definitely give it a shot around that time!
@@Tomatoda ok! I can’t wait to see it :D
Can you use an iron instead of a hair straightener?
I’ve never tried it myself, but I don’t see why not? It could work
what are the dimentions for the cut out
where do you get the stars and the mini soot sprite??? 😭😭
I’m trying to find pvc fabric at my local Walmart, but I can’t find it. Does anyone know what section it will be in? Or another store that has it?
It should be in the fabric section! You can maybe ask a worker if they have "clear vinyl fabric". U want the one that comes in a roll, NOT the ones that are folded up 😉. Also Joannes fabric carries it too.
Tomatoda
thank you! ❤️
Question: What happens, when you overheat the vinyl?? How can it melt for too long?
iono about melting for too long, but it can melt if you over heat it! In that case, just turn off the straightening iron and let it cool down. After it's cooled, it'll peel off easily (or it has for me every time at least? it might depend on your iron).
@@Tomatoda Ah okay, thank you!
@@Trunkslover14 thank you!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! :D and have fun! Also don't burn yourself xD
Hello..
I was wondering what happend in the middle its still open or not?
Because in tutorial you only using flat iron on top and bottom.
yeah! so on the 4:33 mark, you'll see (and hear me say hahaha) that I don't seal the back because the wrapper sticks to each other and keeps it shut. but you are more than welcome to used double sided tape to seal it if you'd like! :)
@@Tomatoda oh ok.. my apologies.. and thankyou .. love your cute diy 🙏
@@dwimellisa9516 yeah no problem! ^^
and thank you!!!
Where is the best place to get washi tape like this? (With characters)
I received this specific one as a gift, but I think the best place to look is Aliexpress and Etsy! I get all of mine from those two places :)
@@Tomatoda thank you x
@@ashleydawn008 no problem!
Can plastic cover for books a good substitute for the pvc fabric? Hahahhaw
I actually have a friend who did use those clear book covers and it came out nicely!
@@Tomatoda yayy thankyou!
would it be okay to sell these?
Yes! Any tutorial on my channel, you are allowed to make and sell!
@@Tomatoda Thank you so much ^_^ Also this finally gives me an excuse to buy and use washi tape lol.
@@chiarra644 ahhhh hope u don’t fall too deep into that rabbit hole 😂 next thing u know, you have like 30 different washi tapes
