  • Hello Everyone! In this video, I show you how I make my candy shaker charms. I make these every once in a while and love making them! If you have any questions, just let me know in the comments below!
    [Materials]:
    1] Silhouette Plastic Shrink Film - canada.michael...
    You can use any shrink film you want. Grafix is another brand that I like. Make sure that it's inkjet shrink film if you want to print on it.
    2] Sticker Cutting Machine (isn't necessary for this project) and/or pair of scissors
    3] Krylon Low Odour Clear Matte Spray - canada.michael...
    4] Clear Soft Vinyl. You can get this from your local fabric store.
    5] Small Candy Shaker Template- 3 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. Big Candy Shaker Template- 3.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Adjust these according to the size of the charm you end up creating.
    6] Pen
    7] Washi Tape
    8] Hair Straightener or Clothes Iron
    9] Parchment Paper
    10] Ruler. I like to use a metal one, but you can use whichever one you want. Just be careful if you're using a plastic one.
    11] Colorful Thread
    12] Needle
    13] Little Decorative Goodies to go inside the candy shaker. You can find a lot of neat stuff at the dollar store or AliExpress.
    14] 1/4th inch double-sided strong adhesive.
    15] Pinking Sears- www.amazon.ca/...
    16] Bead Reamer- canada.michael... or an Awl: www.amazon.ca/...
    17] Star Keychain - AliExpress
    18] Jump Rings in different sizes
    19] Cute Pastel Beads - AliExpress
    20] Eye Pins (accidentally called them eyelet in the video)- canada.michael...
    21] Bead Pliers to close jump rings
    22] Round Nose Pliers to create the hoop on the other end of the eye pin

    Thank you so much May for making this video. I’ll definitely help me when I try to do mine again. I didn’t think on using double sided tape to secure the washi. You did an excellent job. I’ll definitely try making them again.

      You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful! Yes, a lot of washi tape is not that sticky, so this makes sure that it stays intact! I think if you put this double-sided adhesive inside the candy charm to seal it shut, it might work if you wanted to try the liquid again!

    hello! watching this years later haha. when you peel off the double sided tape is it just so that the sticky residue is left on there for the washi tape to stick better? wouldn’t it be better to just leave the tape on in that case? if not, how can i be sure it’ll leave the residue?

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  2 дні тому

      Hello! Yes, the double-sided tape is to make sure the washi doesn't come off. Washi doesn't have strong adhesive so getting a good craft double-sided adhesive keeps it from coming off and makes it stay put.

    Thank you so much for this 🥺 What can I use to clean the vinyl? I tried making some but it was too static and charms kept sticking to it inside. Do you have any tips for me? 😓

    I'm really curious, but a lot of shaker charms like these are inflated with air. Do you know how people do that???

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  Рік тому +1

      Those are most likely manufactured. They use a machine to put air in it before sealing it.

    It I'll be okay if I substitute the Shrinking plastic for regular paper for my main design?
    Ps/ Thanks for this titular! It's really helpful and I love how u used some easy to find materials. :D

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  3 роки тому +1

      You're welcome! If you laminate your paper charm with a hot laminator, it'll make your charm stiff and durable enough to be inside the candy shaker.

    How do you like this shrink paper? I have tried ones that aren't transparent and really want the clear look.

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  3 роки тому

      I like it for the most part. Peeling the backing off of it isn't fun, but its understandable why they have it on there. You have to be careful when you cut it or pull it because you can mess it up easily.

    Hii.. is it okay to use pvc or vinyl bcz in my area I can't find any shrink films

      For the bag??

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  2 роки тому

      Hello! Pvc and vinyl is fine for the bag. That's what I used in the video. The shrink film is just to make charms to go inside the bag, but it's not necessary.

      @@MayYangArt oh ok. thanks so much! I will take some pvc from a box bought from the store and will be using it.
      Thanks once again!
