I think we will definitely see PSTD on the wing a few times. SA struggle a bit at no 8 after Vermeulen retired as well at no 9 with de Klerk struggling to find some form. Depth in the front row for the AB's might be their Achilles heel. As always it will be a fantastic match. Thanks for a great video 💪🏻

Good one Mark - a good analysis. Too early to make hard n fast predictions! There is no doubt that the AB’s will be giving it their best - they are always a hard team to play and to beat! 2 big rugby nations clashing - not for the faint hearted!👍🏉
The Rassie factor may spring a couple of new surprises which comes without saying. The foundation of the Bok strategy will be tight 5 and loosies. Domination will deliver sharp box and positional kicks. With dominance up front rush defence and attacks from the inside and wide channels will come at any time. The factor that may make it not so potent, is scrumhalf play. We just don't have a Fourie du Preez anymore and I am not so impressed with how I saw it thus far. Don't be surprised to see a 5/3 split in Jo'burg with true bomb sqaud down in Cape Town. This time of the year you may see wet or windy conditions or both down there. Up in the highveld conditions will be more suitable for attacking rugby. That said, we need to consider the AB and what they will bring. Yes they were good this weekend. Question is did they improve or did the Pumas just not arrive because of their heroics the previous weekend. And Rassie has all the time to analise those 2 games. Thanks Mark.

Capetown is a AB stronghold. Don't be surprised if there are more AB fans in the stands than bok fans. SA need to improve drastically from the circus I saw on the field in Australia to even stand a chance of being competitive.

The best way to determine outcome is to compare now vs WC Final. It was a very close game in the WC Final. The ABs have changes in key personnel. Apart from the new coaches, there are changes in 4 key positions, 2 of the 3 locks are new and both 9 and 10 are new. Is the team stronger or weaker in those areas? SA has added another string to their bow. They play a more expansive game with two very fast wingers. Additionally the venue is different. Given these new things in SA’s favour, is it neutralised by the additional player that ABs will have in this game? If you recall, the ABs only had 14 players for most of the game in the WC Final. Coaches also play a big part at this stage. Given the confusion they created in the first game against Argentina, I am glad they had the sense to revert back to the skills and strengths of this AB team in the second match versus Argentina. Have the coaches learnt their lessons, I.e. changes should be evolutionary and not revolutionary. Let’s hope that there is a very good series between the two and Rugby is the winner.

Hello Mark, Once again you've given an excellent summary of what I also believe ZA might do against NZ. A few points I'd like to share on some of your comments: I wonder if they might use willie more instead of sacha for the tactical position kicks. Bench: I agree - the bench will try and lift the physicality when they come on and keep the pressure and intensity for the full 80. The NZ bench has been underwhelming for me against Argentina and England too, with the exception of Beauden Barrett. And by the looks of it, Razor appears that he will stick with a 5/3. Starters like Ardie will definitely be tired around the 60min mark and ZA will bring on someone like Kwagga. I know when these 2 trams play they level goes up 100% but I give ZA the advantage here. Width: 100% agree, I wonder if they might also use de Allende to carry into the centre channel. Jordie has been defending well there the past weekend, however Rieko was nowhere to be found. Surprise from Rassie: I wonder if they might use lineout variations. NZ seems to wait for the maul and get into a defensive position very quickly - They could be caught off guard. They will have to compete on defensive lineouts. Lastly, I saw your comment on rugbypass so I hope I don't get a yellow card here. Yes it's true that NZ won the last 4, however I mist also add that this time it will be different given how their focus has shifted to be more consistent in between World cups. I suspect like many of your country folk do that Handre Pollard will start the game, so SFM will come off the bench, so yes Willie would be instrumental in playing that role with sweeping cross field kicks into open spaces. Bench....A big area of concern for many Kiwis. With SA´s depth and also multi level of skill sets a Kwagga type player brings so much more to the equation. The AB´s havent yet convinced me that they compete off the bench for the full 80 mins. Width....If I was Rassie I would put a lot of emphasis in this area and take the shackles off. Some times I feel SA doesnt understand exactly what level of pace and skills thye have out wide. Tony Brown is helping to explore that more and as they do SA become even more dangerous. When you have tired the Kiwi outside players because they have to tackle more you open up more opportunities. Cant wait to see what Rassie dazzles us all with. 4 out of the last 5 to the Kiwis, lets see if this time will in fact be different, you might find tomorrows episode therefore a little unexpected. The difference between these two sides are the Boks can afford to strategise weeks in advance. The ABs however & based on current form can only plan from one game to the next. A sigh of relief following the recent win against Pumas reflects this which otherwise would normally be a comfortable win.

I think the Boks would be silly to not start Pollard and replicate their World Cup final game plan. Anything more expansive is a risk as the ABs will be very motivated for revenge through the forwards.

Boks at their peak now and cannot see them loosing, issue is going forward with the age of the boks ( ava age in 2027 will be 35) and the AB new players getting more game time. This year 2-0 for boks, next year still 2-0 for boks, 2026 - 1-1 and in in 2027 for the AB. Lets see. Always highlight of each year the Boks vs AB
As a Bok supporter I am concerned about how SA's ex players and others are talking as if the Boks cannot be won! Sorry, any team can loose. They lost against Ireland who were better on the day. n The AB's never lie down. They were bomb shocked by Argentina who anyway can win any team when they want. Therefore the Boks must be humble and make sure they stay focused.

Wallabies in rebuild and without depth were poor but yes Boks will make us go 80 and we will. Will see a’ bomb squad’ they’ll play to their forward depth strength. They’ll rate their contestable kick game and won’t be attacking from deep against AB’s but are transitioning quickly on turnovers/ mistakes these days. AB’s more likely win the scrum platform, Boks more likely lineouts imo but it’ll come down to breakdown. Boks know their game better than AB’s still transitioning, so is big ask for AB’s at this stage of development. However Bok’s A won’t have played for 3 weeks and Joburg with Bok’s unbackable favs. is our best chance imo I think we’ll win - back against wall in hostile always brings best of AB’s, they’re already excited and should be really up for it. We go at 50% win rate in Africa and 50% between us over last 2 WC’s period. One win over there would be a good result for mine.

The games against Australia proved it, Sacha as talented as he is, still has a lot to learn. Personally I will be very upset not to see Polly in that 10 jersey against the All Blacks. If they pick Sacha and we lose because of his show boating, the public will turn on him very quickly. We don't want that, he is our future 10.

As i despise the All Blacks and love the Boks all I can see is the ABs rising up and humbling my boys. Things been going to well and the ABs are always gonna ABs.
I'm not saying that the ABs will win at Ellis Park but ironically the altitude factor seems to have flavoured them more in recent encounters, possibly because the bigger Boks will tire quicker. If the ref insists on shorter stoppages then the game could be in the balance.
Kia ora, Ireland were unlucky with the referee calls. There is no one with an attack like the Irish, very close between blocking and interference but by a hair. The bok will do what they do but Razor and co need to stick to their plan, will be a good game.

Once again you've given an excellent summary of what I also believe ZA might do against NZ.
A few points I'd like to share on some of your comments:
I wonder if they might use willie more instead of sacha for the tactical position kicks.
Bench:
I agree - the bench will try and lift the physicality when they come on and keep the pressure and intensity for the full 80. The NZ bench has been underwhelming for me against Argentina and England too, with the exception of Beauden Barrett. And by the looks of it, Razor appears that he will stick with a 5/3.
Starters like Ardie will definitely be tired around the 60min mark and ZA will bring on someone like Kwagga. I know when these 2 trams play they level goes up 100% but I give ZA the advantage here.
Width:
100% agree, I wonder if they might also use de Allende to carry into the centre channel. Jordie has been defending well there the past weekend, however Rieko was nowhere to be found.
Surprise from Rassie:
I wonder if they might use lineout variations. NZ seems to wait for the maul and get into a defensive position very quickly - They could be caught off guard. They will have to compete on defensive lineouts.
Lastly, I saw your comment on rugbypass so I hope I don't get a yellow card here. Yes it's true that NZ won the last 4, however I mist also add that this time it will be different given how their focus has shifted to be more consistent in between World cups.

You raise, as always some great points. If I may.
I suspect like many of your country folk do that Handre Pollard will start the game, so SFM will come off the bench, so yes Willie would be instrumental in playing that role with sweeping cross field kicks into open spaces.
Bench....A big area of concern for many Kiwis. With SA´s depth and also multi level of skill sets a Kwagga type player brings so much more to the equation. The AB´s havent yet convinced me that they compete off the bench for the full 80 mins.
Width....If I was Rassie I would put a lot of emphasis in this area and take the shackles off. Some times I feel SA doesnt understand exactly what level of pace and skills thye have out wide. Tony Brown is helping to explore that more and as they do SA become even more dangerous. When you have tired the Kiwi outside players because they have to tackle more you open up more opportunities.
Cant wait to see what Rassie dazzles us all with.
4 out of the last 5 to the Kiwis, lets see if this time will in fact be different, you might find tomorrows episode therefore a little unexpected.

I think he will stick with Sacha given the nature of that position and also give him the opportunity in those pressure game situations. Sacha can always move to fullback if willie comes off.
Boks are an amazing team. They just seem to be the best in the world across the field. ABs are in for a big one, but they always have been against the boks. Really looking forward to this one!

@user-bz8cr7sj3z Hola Selwyn, thanks for the question. NZ Rugby doesnt allow it because they believe more players will leave NZ for bigger contracts over seas and weaken the game in NZ. Scott Robertson and many others are trying to have this rule over turned.
Great points Mark .. we gotta compete AB lineout ... Those hookers can go haywire with pressure .. we miss Williamse the most for counterattack .. he can step either side .. AB front 3 have improved a lot .. we need to include W.Louw .. best tighthead in URC to counter Tamati .. 1st time in ages I think our centers can finally compete with AB .. I hope Rassie sticks with Sascha but does mean Pollard will take 1 place on bench ... I would also like to see Ben Dixon at 8 .. for lineout .. hard tackling and big engine .. but flip these AB looked so impressive in the Argentina game .. so always nervous vs your bunch !! Best 10 mins in life is start of AB Bok clash !!! Spinetingling !!

The difference between these two sides are the Boks can afford to strategise weeks in advance. The ABs however & based on current form can only plan from one game to the next. A sigh of relief following the recent win against Pumas reflects this which otherwise would normally be a comfortable win.

I think the Boks would be silly to not start Pollard and replicate their World Cup final game plan.
Anything more expansive is a risk as the ABs will be very motivated for revenge through the forwards.

Boks at their peak now and cannot see them loosing, issue is going forward with the age of the boks ( ava age in 2027 will be 35) and the AB new players getting more game time. This year 2-0 for boks, next year still 2-0 for boks, 2026 - 1-1 and in in 2027 for the AB. Lets see. Always highlight of each year the Boks vs AB

I think the boks will slow the game tempo down, and frustrate the AB with the game speed, rush defense, and stretching the AB wide

As a Bok supporter I am concerned about how SA's ex players and others are talking as if the Boks cannot be won! Sorry, any team can loose. They lost against Ireland who were better on the day. n The AB's never lie down. They were bomb shocked by Argentina who anyway can win any team when they want. Therefore the Boks must be humble and make sure they stay focused.

Wallabies in rebuild and without depth were poor but yes Boks will make us go 80 and we will.
Will see a’ bomb squad’ they’ll play to their forward depth strength.
They’ll rate their contestable kick game and won’t be attacking from deep against AB’s but are transitioning quickly on turnovers/ mistakes these days.
AB’s more likely win the scrum platform, Boks more likely lineouts imo but it’ll come down to breakdown.
Boks know their game better than AB’s still transitioning, so is big ask for AB’s at this stage of development.
However Bok’s A won’t have played for 3 weeks and Joburg with Bok’s unbackable favs. is our best chance imo
I think we’ll win - back against wall in hostile always brings best of AB’s, they’re already excited and should be really up for it.
We go at 50% win rate in Africa and 50% between us over last 2 WC’s period.
One win over there would be a good result for mine.

@@insiderugbywithmark Nothing is written in stone, but Pollard is still our general by a mile and at 30 years old is young enough to play in the next world cup. The games against Australia proved it, Sacha as talented as he is, still has a lot to learn. Personally I will be very upset not to see Polly in that 10 jersey against the All Blacks. If they pick Sacha and we lose because of his show boating, the public will turn on him very quickly. We don't want that, he is our future 10.

I'm not saying that the ABs will win at Ellis Park but ironically the altitude factor seems to have flavoured them more in recent encounters, possibly because the bigger Boks will tire quicker. If the ref insists on shorter stoppages then the game could be in the balance.

Kia ora, Ireland were unlucky with the referee calls. There is no one with an attack like the Irish, very close between blocking and interference but by a hair. The bok will do what they do but Razor and co need to stick to their plan, will be a good game.
