Ok but huge props to the CoD Online team for allowing players to transfer items and unused currency to CoD Mobile. They didn’t need to do that, but they did.

Activision is pushing studios to work on Warzone and it is sickening because personally it has killed SO many great franchises and sub-company games because they want to build upon their biggest achievement yet. If Call of Duty: Online released worldwide for free and had pushed out this much content on a weekly basis keeping the community content touching every gamemode equally then it would surpass Warzone in a heartbeat.
I wish they would release cod online game files so people would be able to make EU/US version that would be nice, but alas all that was fun must come to the end. I Salute you COD Online.
It’s so heartbreaking that Call of Duty Online is being discontinued, let alone that it never became a mainstream COD. From what I saw of the game I really believed that COD Online was arguably the best direction that the Devs could have taken the COD franchise both for fan service and from a business perspective. I like many others were unfortunately never able to play COD online but what this game did for the COD community and for COD as a franchise will be recognised, remembered and treasured as a true icon for what Call of Duty should have become over the course of the franchise’s development. So with that I say goodbye Call of Duty Online. Your legacy will always live on ❤️

I like how a small portion of COD Online players are both fluent in Mandarin and in English but in America there are no fluent mandarin COD players, lol. Honestly the coolest part of COD online was the community, what COD gaming looks like on the opposite side of the world, it was a neat experience for sure and it was awesome that MERK shared that with all of us.
I really hope they say hey this was actually the game that everyone wants. Lets say if they wanna keep Micro transactions they should make A free Global Cod online like they said they would do with micro transactions. And keep Our 60$ Cod like they used to with no Supply drops and a seperate loading screen then the last CoD if that doesn't happen im never buying cod again
I really hope someone make the game playable again in the future. This can happen. Battlefield Heroes for example was shutdown about 5 years ago and became playable about a year ago.

I think this shutdown was inevitable. Like you said in the COD Online QFWEG video, this was just a Chinese-exclusive test place for gestures, maps, battle royale, and crazy-looking weapons. Having this game be exclusive only in China was kind of a 4D chess 2000 IQ move on Activision's part; because Google and UA-cam are banned in China, it limits the Chinese players from being able to make videos about these upcoming features online.
I’m genuinely upset and disappointed. I downloaded this game back when Eric first downloaded this game and beside the lag this game is flawless. It’s very telling that instead of putting time into a game like COD Online they pump all their assets into Warzone. COD Battle Royale will most likely continue to be the only focus for years to come and this will be at the expense of any new COD’s quality.
I don't think this is the end for cod online.... Maybe later this year or next year we will get an international cod online experience. I hope that will be the case.
There is a spanish youtuber called AlphaSniper97, I actually really like his theory, he says that we might get a chinese call of duty for all platforms, better improved and optimized.
