hi!!!! i subbed because a) you draw good and explain good too b) you're really personable c) you took the time to caption and d) i also love nimona and i did not know there's a movie coming and i think that letting me know that deserves a sub :D
have you tried using the colour layer? assuming you're using brush tool to line the colour layer creates a path through the middle of your strokes so you can fill bucket rough lines rlly easily and quickly
Loved the video1 It's super interesting seeing your process, how you use puppets an tradional on same scene, and how do you make that line effect... The final result it's really cool! :D
when I got my first job in a studio and had to use harmony to animate, the node view scared the crap out of me. Seeing all the composites, drawings, all the shitton of different nodes for different effects and I was like PLEASE I just need the character to go from point A to B I don't want to suffer Turns out, regardless of the animation method - be it cut-out, fbf, stop motion.... suffering is the only common denominator :))
I’m sad the movie’ cancelled. I hope it gets revived by another studio, like Rainmaker Entertainment or Ilion Animation Studios or maybe even Reel FX Animation Studios.
im kinda new to toonboom so i might be wrong but i think the fuzzy line problem you're having with the fill bucket is because your layers are bitmap (instead of vector) or it might be the brush tool (instead of pencil) if you had a vector layer it should fill just fine!
yup you're right! you could only get a clean fill if you use a hard brush or the pencil tool (or the stroke tool, but i haven't tried that yet). the reason i didn't use those is because i like the way bitmap brushes look (especially the loose sketchy way i can draw with them, whereas with the pencil tool you have to be more precise), so i'm willing to put up with hand-colouring even if i suffer 😫
@@emichen thats fine too! i havnt messed with textured brushes yet but i get what you mean. just wanted to make sure you werent making things hard on yourself on accident
Go Click on the Layer (and all the frames you want) (make sure you drew on the line layer), go to the COLOR layer (under the line layer), hit the 3 ARROWS with one white line above and one blue line under, (make sure you have strokes visible, hotkey "k") AND THAT SHOULD MAKE A STROKE RIGHT IN THE BIDDLE OF YOUR BRUSH STROKES!! Hit Atl + y (Paintbucket all unpainted areas) and fill that area!! no gaps!! (if you have lines super close to each other, you may need to clean up the strokes a bit using ctrl + v, but this will save you SO MUCH TIME!!!!)

Hello! To change canvas size: go to the SCENE tab at the top and click "Scene Settings". You can enter a new size in the "Resolution" part. You should always be able to animate out of the canvas (camera view), but it's possible you have the Camera Mask turned on so you can't see outside. At the bottom of the Camera view there should be a row of icons including a lightbulb, a lightning bolt, a grey flower and blue flower. The third one from the left should be the Camera Mask (it looks like a pale grey rectangle); click it to turn it off.
i searched up "film grain overlay" on youtube, downloaded the one i liked (specifically "old film grain" by aconite), and in the video editing program, i set the blending mode to "screen" to get just the white dust and scratches!
