about ishmael's EGO voiceline sounding slightly different from her usual self, I think it's bc the voice direction might have changed a little between when it was recorded and now. if you go back to the character promo videos, ishmael and don quixote particularly sound a bit different to how they currently do in game imo. a case of the voice actors getting used to the characters and changing the way they act accordingly maybe?

Hence why Sinclair recalls good stories about them, while Hong Lu recalls horrid ones...
Regarding N-Clair and Magic Outis, it’s very situational. In a vacuum, Sinclair is stronger. However, Magic Bullet power increases exponentially with each additional factor (e.g. number of turns or in a burn team). She is a unit with rather unique mechanics.
Basically, N-Clair will perform great in any scenario, while Magic Bullet Outis becomes a horror beyond comprehension with a specific strategy.
The Canto images actually change depending on where you are in the Canto, so it's worth checking them every once in a while. They won't spoil.

Heathcliff will almost definitely be getting a Canto 6 ID later in the season, and with this season being quite sinking heavy, there's a good chance that that ID will have sinking
And by the looks of It, bleed.
Sunshower Heath works pretty well in Canto 6 and it's a good opportunity to use him. He is a bit more complicated than most IDs, but he is quite cool!
As some comments have mentioned, we do not have the Heathcliff story ID for canto 6 yet, but it's unlikely we'll get it by the time you reach Canto 6 since it's usually released a bit later down the line. (but I could be wrong) Heathcliff also currently does not have a sinking ID, the closest thing is SunShower.
Basically, counter with him until he's batshit crazy, then start actually hitting.
Maybe lose clashes with his Skill 1.
@@mystic_spider Basically this. Go for one-sided attacks, clash with his S1 if you don't have any sinking, counter when you've got a decent amount of sinking to lower SP.
Suncliff is way easier to use in Focused Encounters. Managed to do Canto 6 with him pretty easily with a Sinking team.
As for Heathcliff IDs for canto VI, there are 4 (+1) IDs I'd recommend in this order:
1. Sunshower Heathcliff: Sunshower Heathcliff is the closest thing we have to a sinking Heathcliff ID, I personally used this ID throughout most of the canto and found great success using it in most levels.
2. Harpooner Heathcliff: Harpooner Heathcliff is overall the Heathcliff ID with the best CONSISTNET damage and clashing power, I haven't seen many people use this ID, but I personally think it'll hold quite well in the right team (mostly a poise or envy/pride resonance tam team).
3. Seven Association Heathcliff: I'd recommend this one because rupture is a VERY powerful status effect and because you've already invested quite a bit into this ID. Picking this ID as your canto VI Heathcliff ID will minimize the amount of resources you have to spend while also giving you a pretty powerful team in the form of rupture team.
4. Rabbit Heathcliff: Rabbit Heathcliff is the most powerful Heathcliff ID in terms of clashing power, but its reliance on ammo makes its damage rather inconsistent in longer encounters.
5. Base Heathcliff: More like, based Heathcliff! I'm always on board when it comes to using base IDs and base Heathcliff is honestly not that bad with its power stacking. I'd personally LOVE to see you use it in canto VI, but I agree that there are better choices.
All in all, I don't think there is any bad choice when it comes to what Heathcliff ID to use in canto VI, but above are my personal opinions and recommendations, everyone is allowed to disagree with them.

I wouldn't say either MB Outis or Nclair are better than one or the other, MB Outis has the potential of dealing more damage since she has a gigantic aoe and she supports burn by making enemies take more damage not only from burn but by lowering their defense while Nclair has more raw immeadiate damage but you need to manage him better due to his sanity mechanic.
As for Heathcliff the only one that even applies sinking currently is Sunshower witch is one of my favorite ID's but I recommend you asking someone to teach more or less how to use him properly since he comes with a lot of nuances.
I disagree, one will definitely be better than the other, based upon if the team is committing to burn. MB Outis will *multiply* gimmick damage, which has immense returns on a full burn team, and she'll gain pretty massive clash bonuses against a sufficiently burning enemy. Outside a burn time, however, Nclair's massive raw power will outperform MB Outis.

Dont forget how sinclair called out Fausts bullshit in canto 3 aswell as how sinclair and rodya are walking examples for the sinners to retrieve them specificly. how the giant castle of babayaga started popping up right after rodya started decending to her bough or how kromer needed Sinclair in emotional distress to "ascend" in presense of the dam stick.
They arent just for finding the golden boughs is my guess but the Company needs the Sinners specificly to interact and approach the Branches to gain i guess "something".
Honestly, base Heathcliff at UT4 is very solid. I used him all of Canto 6 and did quite well. It also feels pretty fitting.

My unbias opinion on sunshower heath is that he slightly below average but people just like memeing him to the point where he seem like trash when at worst he still a very good tank counter who contribute nothing else which atleast put him above some of the ID
However my bias opinion is that he an S tier cause I like em complicated ID

Man those new WAW EGOs are total game changers. Very SP cheap on activation, meaning getting Heads is much easier than every other EGO, with the turn loss being easily supplementable. The effects hit hard, the passive generates a ton of stuff for the team, it's overall just nothing but great.
also in the case of suncliff you can just overclock it to enter into immiediate negative sanity N-CLAIR CANT WAIT FOR THAT FUNCTION

Love the backgrounds for this Canto, many of them have such ominous things about them that aren't immediately noticable.
Also was equally anxious about seeing whether or not Ishmael would distort this Canto, especially with that unique status stuck to her.
Nice seeing Heathcliff & Ishmael on speaking terms again magically. One of the few quaint exchanges we've had of them at the end there.

sunshower is great for canto 6. remember how 90% of the canto 6 identities do sinking?
Just a couple things about running a sinking team. Molar Ishmael is an excellent unit for sinking and once her passive activates she always goes count positive (on heads hit) which makes managing it easier. It is also worth running literally any rodion as long as you can get Uptie 4 Rimeshank as it is actually a broken sinking ego (5 potency and count on awakening and 10 potency with 8 count on corrosion). Dieci Rodion is probably the best rodion for a sinking team though. Otherwise most units with sinking infliction should do you well as rimeshank and molar can keep count quite easily. Spicebush Yi Sang is a good Sinking unit as his skill 3's sinking deluge is a good damage dealer on the team and his other skills inflict a fair deal of sinking but he isn't nearly as necessary as Molar Ish or Rimeshank. Hopefully this helps in some way.
I'm also super excited for you to continue, you're getting to one of the best parts of this Canto very soon and i can't wait to watch you experience it.
1:16 Harpooner Heath is an incredible ID in general even outside of an Envy/Bleed Team for his Conditionals and he was an absolute godsend for me during the end of Canto 6, i would have had a way harder time if i didn't have him so that´s my recommendation.
3:55 Maid Ishy is unfortunately kind of mediocre, she has two better Sinking IDs in Molar Boatworks and RCorp, and in a Poise team you always want to use Captain Ishmael, so MaidMael unfortunately doesn't really have a role because she's overshadowed by herself in both of her archetypes.
4:40 Heathclith's Binds needs Threadspin 4 because then the unique status "Before the King" is upgraded to "Before the King in Binds" which spreads 100% of the damage instead of just 50%, and it can be absolutely insane with the right setup on high damage IDs like Rabbit Heath and Harpooner Heath.
16:18 Also if you remember back to LCCB Ryo's Uptie story, since she's that Mirror World's version of Pilot SHE SOLOD THE ENTIRE GANG AND A BIG BROTHER. Ryo is canonically the strongest Sinner by far and this shows by just how much, if she was a Fixer she'd have easily been Grade 1 or 2 at least before the Contract weakened her so much.

1:33:45 NClair is significantly better in general, Magic Bullet Outis only become as good as she is in a dedicated Burn Team because most of her damage comes from her unique Status Effect "Dark Flame" which massively increases the End-Of-Turn Burn Damage up to a maximum of TIMES SEVEN (7x99=693 potential bonus Pride Damage) on an optimal turn, otherwise all she has going for her is good clashing and an up to 7 Attack Weight AOE skill 3.

I used a mix of Pequod Harpooner and 4th Pack Rabbit Heathcliff during canto 6. Pequod Harpooner is a really good heath identity in general... and more importantly, he's pride and envy, which activates Captain Ishmael's passive, and I need lotta envy for my team's E.G.O.s. 4th Pack Rabbit Heathcliff is mostly useless aside from having a good s3, but he has something that no other Heathcliff has: an Evade-type defense skill!

I don't think Walpurgis will happen before you clear Canto 5, but you can borrow Shootis so w/e.
Shootis' big thing may be her big AoE, but her main contribution to burn teams is allowing them to actually deal significantly more burn damage to single enemies, which has always been the status' main weakness. My main burn team is Shootis, N-Sync, Liu Shu, Ishma, and Rodya, and N Faust for sanity support.
For a burn team MB Outis is better than having NClair
cause her darkflame essentially multiplies and adds to your burn damage while also doing aoes. Though at least on my burn team I run both with liu gregor hong lu or mersult on the bench to get both MB Outis and NClair in while makig use of the liu boys support passives.

Genuinely? Sunshower Heathcliff may be really good for part of Canto 6 for gameplay reasons I will not get into, but at a certain point his base ID is actually really strong and usable. Not even as a joke, it's one of the best baselines out of the entire roster.
Gonna be honest with you chief, build a sinking team and select any hethcliff to use as besides sunshower, he can be usable at the start of canto 6 but from the middle onwards he becomes useless

Here again despite me rarely commenting. The reason why at 5-18 Rodion did the most damage is because the Mermaids are weak to Pierce damage while the Pirates are weak to Blunt. That is why when fighting the pirates you would see LiuIsh and Nclair doing more damage since passively they are doing double damage against the pirates. Likewise for LiuRodion doing extra damage against the whales. While in story its way too easy and Mirror Dungeon where you can get overpowered EGO gifts, whenever you do Refraction Railway, if you apply the "make team based on enemy weakness" logic like you did in Ruina, it will make the fights considerably easier! Im sure you wouldve figured out but its just a reminder since youve kinda swept your way through the story. You do have some nice units which definitely helps but I didnt want you to face a wall one day and suffer simply because Nclair made you forgot the tricks we employed back in Ruina. Not saying youre bad at the game nor am I discrediting your ability though, have fun with limbussin..!;;

Try using Captain Ishmael and the Pequod Crew IDs in this Canto, they're entirely great at dealing with beings of the Lake and the Captain herself has a flat bonus against beings and monsters of the Great Lake

As someone who uses a burn team pretty often, I use Bullet Outis over N Clair. This is my personal team comp:
First slot is B Outis because she applies burn deluge.
Second and third are Liu Ishy and Liu Rodya because they apply a hefty stack of burn count. This is better on regular stages, as the first picked get extra actions earlier.
Next is Liu Ryo, as she has burn spread.
Next is Liu Mers and Liu Greg.
Liu Hong Lu has a support passive too good for a burn team to let him out of the bench.
I dont use Nclair. While his dmg output is crazy, he is not a good burn applier, and burn teams are centered around winning clash/coin power the more burn stacks the enemy has.
He also eats up sanity healing passives, which I need for B Outis cause she also needs sanity management.
sunshower heath is good for most of canto 6 (not the best clasher but was often mvp on my end; others here seem to have a different experience), but pequod heath is more beneficial to use on the later parts. having both on hand would be good if you're able.
The Great Lake is my favorite part of PM lore so far. Excluding whatever the fuck is going on "Beyond The Outskirts" .
Sunshower Heath will be good for a bit in Canto VI, but at some point you should switch. For this, Harpooner or RCorp is great.

Comparing Outis to nclair is usually a matter of needing a gimmick or not. Nclair rolls on his S3 and S2 like a god and needs next to no setup for it to work given how coins and sp are calculated. Shootis has a gimmick that needs time to get online and it needs more care to be stablelized but she has a better S1 aswell. If i had to compare them in terms of usefulness which is pretty much powerlvl i would go 6 to 4 for Le chosen one sinclair. his strength is his generic ness. he fits in next to every team if you have a loose slot and he will pretty much always do his job but shootis has more potential which will most certainly come in handy for later content and her gimmicks permit aoe and single target damage. I could go on and on but point is generic strength still outweight gimmicks and the current sanity point system aswell as having no trouble with his - coin system is convinient for Nclair in story content specificly while other NEED to win clashes.
pequod heathcliff is very good in general, and rabbit heathcliff rules in shorter fights but a lot of canto 6 fights tend towards the longer side (but he has an evade which is good). if the inevitable seasonal heathcliff ID isn't sinking, investing in either of those is a good idea in the long run imo. (sunshower heathcliff or as mamy like to call him Potential Man:tm: basically only works in canto 6, and only barely in my experience lmaooo. worth trying out for a unique experience, but. man.)
You might want to wait for heathcliff ID, season 6 ID will probably roll out soon for him, every sinner gets one after their canto.
I'd HIGHLY recommend making more use of Ishmael's Blind Obsession EGO. It's a high damage AOE that deals Pierce damage, making it the ideal Ishmael EGO for the Pierce focused Canto V.
And for obvious reasons, Captain Ishmael, being probably the best Pierce unit in the game, is really good too.
Sunshower is Heathcliffs only sinking ID HOWEVER it is super awesome for canto 6 also bound king makes sunshower heath pretty good

She's... fine. A mix Haste/Poise/Sinking Identity with alright values and Sinking application, though because of her mixed role there's not a lot of ways to slot her into any team. a 4-6 speed range is above-average, meaning that with Haste you can proc her Coin Power Conditionals rather frequently, her damage is decent and the Sinking she applies is alright. A perfectly decent Identity, there's not too much to say about her besides being... rather average. Good, but average.

If you want a good heathcliff pick for chapter 6, I'd go with either harpooner or whatever ID heathcliff gets in chapter 6 if that releases before you reach it (likely sinking heathcliff).
Rabbit would be a good pick but fights last longer than 3 turns even with the ludicrous damage now.
(he loses like 99.9% of his damage output and utility after like 3 or 4 turns lol)
I'll let sunshower's clash numbers speak for themselves.

I'd say replacing Meursault for MB Outis would be a good play, unless you're planning on only having just 1 non-Liu member on the squad. One of the main reasons Meursault is good for the Burn team is his EGOs, namely Regret and Capote.
Regret is amazing for its passive, giving his leftmost Skill 2 extra Coin Power at the cost of 1 Base Power (we'll come back to that). It's only for one single skill slot, but it's worth it, cuz it amps up LiuSault's numbers by quite a bit, and it's fueled by Pride and Wrath, so having MB Outis around can help fuel it really well alongside Liu Rodya. Now, Capote is one of the strongest (imo) EGOs in the game. It rolls incredibly with a ceiling of 45 outside of Offense Level and Power Up buffs, inflicts lots of Burn, gives pretty good buffs, and its Passive gives him +1 Base Power if he's targeted by 2 or more skills, which counteracts Regret's Base Power Loss, AND it's fueled perfectly by the whole Liu team (Wrath, Lust, and Sloth). Oh, It also has some synergy with Liu Sault's own Combat Passive, I guess.
Magic bullet Outis is very strong and much more consistent than Nclair, but her damage is not the best.
Her S1 can roll for 17(!) when an enemy is at 9+ burn. This is a single best S1 in the game.
All her attacks inflict dark flame which is trivial in normal fights but melts bosses.
Her S3 has 15 base power which is really good. Nowhere as close as Nclair's S3 but still good.
tl;dr she's very VERY good at clashing, but lacks conventional damage, as opposed to Nclair having good damage but not getting any benefits from burn

Sunshower Heath and sinking team will make things cakewalk till part 2 of canto 6. On part 3, choose another Heath.(I don't recommend switching to R corp since rounds it takes to defeat certain stages are really long and he won't have enough ammo)
