Thx Richard for this interesting interview.A better blood flow, through natural sources (beetroot , ginkgo biloba, spices snd mediterranean herbs) could also delay extracellular matrix stiffening thereby fighting skin aging and maybe also sarcopenia.

Hi Abdelilah, thanks for sharing. Agree, blood flow is critical to many aspects of aging. Supporting NO production with veges like beetroot is helpful for that.

I understand that reversing sun damage is typically seen as challenging, but uncovering the latest scientific insights on potential remedies would be intriguing. Although prevention is ideal, discovering ways to repair existing damage could be truly beneficial

Hi thanks for sharing. It would be. I remember a while ago someone talking about the process of making Vit D in the skin and how it had some intermediate metabolites which the body expected and used for something. Taking complete Vit D means we do not have these metabolites. (Cannot recall the details. I should investigate). But my point is that doing things the natural way is probably best and I would prefer to let my body make its own Vit D.

I'm not a scientist, so forgive my lack of expertise, but I'm curious about the possibility of developing artificial light therapy that replicates sunlight, enabling us to produce vitamin D without exposure to harmful UV ray

Richard mentioned sun exposure dilema in reference to vitamin D. One good approach to deal with sun exposure is to regularly take astaxanthin pills.

Hi Yuval, thanks for sharing. That is something that I do, based on comments from Dr Sandra Kaufmann about the efficacy of astaxanthin against sun damage.

You can also take polypodium leucotomos, They help protect me when I can't avoid the sun. I did get a little burned once while taking it, but I recovered quite quickly. I take the NusaPure 2400 mg brand. Lot cheaper than astaxanthin. From what I read, you need much more astaxanthin than the pills provide for it to protect your skin.
